I forgot to add, finally, someone who listens to music in it's entirety and then gives their feedback, fully absorbing it so they can give it a genuine proper reaction. Kudos. You totally get Swans, and I get that some people don't get them in the comments. Their music is like a soundtrack to a movie. A very dark, uncomfortable and abrasive, and yet other times mystical, shamanistic and beautiful... Very inspiring to me visually, Bring the Sun personally reminds me of the Calvary charge in Lord of the Rings or the Battle of the Bastards in Game of Thrones.. generally their music gives me old American Western vibes in the 1700s.
Thanks. I'm surprised some styles of reaction are so popular. Some are just plain theater. I'm a real musician and songwriter and producer myself so it's much more than just about RUclips and views. Hopefully I can just attract a like minded tribe
Swans is so ominous I can rarely find pieces like theirs, Joycelyn Pook is probably the only other artist that can tap into that eerie spot in my brain, just without all the heavy chaos. They force the creativity right out of me, perfect for writing, that's why this band is genius. Michael Gira is a genie for letting me express my own darkness.
let me tell you how incredibly commendable it is that you recorded this reaction to this song in it's entirety for us to listen to. It makes me happy : )
@@deanwolfechannel you're welcome! My original comment was worded sloppily but I just wanted to extend my appreciation for someone who would make a video on such a long song
You have to do a Swans album in one listen. There's no other band that encapsulates that aspect of music more, for me. The album is an experience. (It's like watching a scene from the middle of a movie)
to be kind was the first Swans album i heard, and still is my favourite. It opened my ear to like a lot of interesting music driven by soundscapes. People without an ear for this kind of music might get a heartattack listening to this, but i myself could not be more relaxed!
This song has an interesting lineage with The Seer and The Glowing Man. the first song started out as the live intro to I Crawled in about 2010-2011, then it slowly morphed into The Seer, then as they played The Seer live it slowly morphed into Bring The Sun/Toussaint L'Ouverture, and then developed live into The Glowing Man, this is explained in the book "Sacrifice and Transcendence: The Oral History of Swans"
this song is mind bendingly awesome, the way that it kicks of is my favourite moment in the swans discography and possibly my favourite moment in all of music. and i in no way discredit the rest of the song let alone record as i think it’s perfect, i don’t think any other record comes close of will ever come close to the absolutely monstrous album that is to be kind.
👀 This one’s a doozy. One of my favorite songs for sure! It’s awesome that you’re getting into Swans more. That’s really unique among reactors. If you want to do another, even crazier (and in my opinion better) song off this album then I highly recommend She Loves Us.
I used to love this album, but my music taste changed over time and now I'm not so into it But it's been so long since I listened to it I might as well give it another chance
Swans - To Be Kind. Released in 2014. The 2010's era of Swans is mostly experimental rock with post-rock and noise-rock peppered in. I highly recommend checking out most of their records.

Saw them last year. Amazing.
Michael Gira is the world's most lucid madman.
Cool majima pfp

It’s great reading all the comments here. It assures me I am not so insane for loving this band so much. I lose myself in this stuff…….
Can any drummers tell me what type of snare is being played in this song? I need this snare sound.

Gybe? They're a good candidate tbh
@@afiqula true that!
i catch swans in 2014 and to be honest these guys change my taste in music, Just unique pure art
Haven’t seen your other vids, but I’ve gotta say…brave choice, to this reactor. Respect.

This is my favorite piece from my (probably) favorite album

Not a lot of people make reaction videos for a 34 minute masterpiece. Thank you for sharing your experience to us!

Both The Seer and The Glowing Man are almost as good tbh.
Saw them live in 2017 in Brooklyn. Was a amazing experience.
Now this I am excited for
Goeie recommendatie man
@@justsomejusstsome8994 Bedankt!
The title of the song is pretty apt, really feels powerful
Yes! This is my favorite song of all time!
Yes! Swans reactions are the best
You should really try "Angels Of Light". Michael Gira's other band he did after ending Swans in the late 90's.
Awesome swans too !

What did your music taste change to?
For all you Haken fans check out Ross Jennings new single Violet. What's the name of this album? And is this post rock?

Will you react to She Loves Us Next? It's the fifth song on this album..
Please, do eeet

Can’t wait…
Saws? Horses? WTF is this shit?!
I...er....um....no..not this time.
This time there's just too much uncomfortable noise. I much prefer the previous ones.
Not based
@@ElHombretheman Huh? What does that mean?
Based usually refers to someone with integrity, so I dont know what he means either. If its unfriendly I will delete his comment
@@ElHombretheman I'm looking it up, but can't make sense of it. Google says it started with conservatives, so you'd think I'd know. Lol
@@deanwolfechannel No need to delete. I'm not easily offended or one that cancels others. 😁 But, thank you Dean.
