Me and my son Saw him in NC back in February, 4 different times in 2 weekend, and since then I accepted JESUS AS MY SAVIOR on April 6th. His singing and testimony will make you look at you life!!! Enjoyed talking to Danny, he's a great singer and a special friend to me and my son!!!
I remember when I was six. I met Jesus and he took away my pain and the stripes on my back were gone. Fifty five years ago. And I gave my life to him. He has walked with me ever since.
I was just a child when I first heard thiz song my Mom Virginia Deese she would turn the gospel channel and she would started her days very earlier while my brothers and my sisters and my daddy we would be still in the bed and my dearly mom whom are resting now she would be listening the gospel station and she be joying herself and King Jesus 🤓😇🙏🏽🌹I so thankful for the mom tht God had blessed me for 🤓😇🙏🏽🌹She did fear the Lord with all her soul mind and all heart and every of him King Jesus she didn’t baby me about King Jesus 🤓😇🙏🏽🌹
Danny had such a beautiful tenor voice. Looking forward to seeing him in heaven!!! Loved the Cathedrals. Won't Heaven be wonderful seeing them all again!!!!
This was a song written by a very talented and anointed songwriter Carroll McGruder, who also sang it with his family group in the Missouri and Arkansas area in the late 1980's. But here the Cathedrals did justice to this song--very powerful message -- still a classic 30+ years later!!!
Many years ago when Danny was with the Singing Americans I had the pleasure of sitting with him in a tiny tiny country church. Ivan Parker was with them then, as well. They did a show and between sets someone preached. That day I was allowed to be the speaker and I'll never forget Danny standing to his feet and shouting glory at the preaching. It's easy to shout for singing. Many shut up once the preaching starts. Not Danny. He was as enthusiastic about good preaching as he was singing. That left an impression on me I've never gotten over. I can hear him now shouting "Glory!" Thank God for him. I just started living!
HALLELUJAH 🤓😇🙏🏽I got Jesus and I have just STARTED LIVING 🤓😇🙏🏽🤓😇🙏🏽When every time I listen thiz song joy comes all over my soul FoR I Just START LIVING 🤓😇🙏🏽🌹
I worked at a very small radio station for a Christian couple many years ago...I remember playing this song so many times...the pure Anointing would fall on that tiny control room! I would praise Him while this song played!
After Danny had a heart attack on stage, the doc said he would have to give up this song. Danny said 'not on your life!' (or something close.) Seen him twice in a small church in NC, and was able to talk to him. Great man, with a heart that serves God.
I love it when the older guys in a group are the cheerleaders of the the younger guys. This is so much fun!!!! I love this song, I love Danny, I love this group!!! Best 4 this group ever had!
Well I agree to a certain extent, but in my life long experience and interaction with the Cathedrals at songs, and Quartet conventions, to me I believe the best round of great men who made up the Cathedrals was George Younce, Glen Payne, Mark trammel, Danny Funderburk, and Gerald Wolfe, I'm mine come on, champion of love, Day Star, Homeland, land of the living, and soo soo many other great songs with Gerald singing with the Cathedrals, to me that's the best group of tremendously talented men that ever were the Cathedral Quartet, just sayin, I believe many will also agree
Oh HALLELUJAH TO ALMIGHTY GOD of ALL HE IS I JUST START LIVING By HIS HANDS HE DIRECTS MY FEET sTEPS OH GLORY TO mY TERRIFIC AWESOME MASTER KING JESUS 😇🙏🏽😇🙏🏽😇🙏🏽😇🙏🏽😇
Every time I hear this song or play this video my heart just soars! I can't sit still! I start praising God with all that I am! Glory to God, what a powerful song!
lyrics to I JUST STARTING LIVING Post Thu Feb 05, 2009 11:04 pm Chorus: I just started living. I found me a brand new life. He changed my direction. Now he's washed away all my strife. I'm a new born believer. It's a holy infilling. My loads will get lighter and my days will get brighter. I just started living. Verse 1: If I had hope on these in this world below. I'd be covered with trouble and there'd be no place to go. But then I met Jesus and started believing. I got filled with His love been washed in his blood. I just started living. Verse 2: Now don't look at me funny you old prophet of doom. I'm not one bit descouraged and I'm feeling no blue. 'cause I've got the spirit and it's totally dwelling. I give up on counting, got no time for doubting. I just started living.
I can't believe nobody mentioned the antics of George and Glen during Danny's solos....I've never seen so much hankee waving by George. And poor Mark got his elbow shook up real good by Glen...........again, this live version outshines the recorded version hands down.
It takes 2 Suttons to make one Danny Funderburk...Just sayin' This version of the Cathedrals may have been the best quartet ever. I know they were when they had Gerald Wolfe on the piano and singing.
Does anyone know what show this video is from?... We had the VHS when I was a kid and it was played to death!!... I'd love to try to source a copy of the VHS if anyone can point me in the right direction?
That's "If I Could Just Hold Out" (from Especially for You, 1985). I was a kid then, ha ha. What a nostalgia trip these songs have been. God bless! :) -Wayne
somebody hold my mule while I shout it just doesn't get any better than that and by the way it doesn't have to be any better than that that ought to ignite something in you if you're a believer

Love Danny Funderburk. His talent is unlimited. Can't get enough of his singing. What a voice!!
When you receive the Holy Ghost, and baptized in Jesus Name then you will start living! Love this song! I believe that the Magruders wrote this song!
I was raised in believing in the Holy Ghost and being baptized in Jesus name.
Yes the MaGruders wrote song
Best singer I've ever heard.
GLORY TO KING JESUS FOREVERMORE MY PRECIOUS LORD AND SAVIOUR!
Danny is my favorite tenor from the Cathedrals.
After Danny had a heart attack on stage, the doc said he would have to give up this song. Danny said 'not on your life!' (or something close.) Seen him twice in a small church in NC, and was able to talk to him. Great man, with a heart that serves God.
I think I know him from Tennessee. If its the same guy I knew his dad was the pastor of the church I went to. He was a drummer back then.
Jeremy Ham very well could be. Danny has always talked about how he played drums before convincing his dad to let him sing in his quartet.
What a wonderful message everyone should follow his lead!
Thanks so much Brother Danny for this song
I didn’t know he had a heart attack! I learned after having mine that you can’t stop living your life!
One of the greatest songs I've ever heard, and Danny is beyond awesome! All glory to God!

Yep. I have a video to post of him and David Sutton singing this same song.
Ever heard Denny Sutton?

Not disrespectful at all...Just stating my opinion.
They don't make hype men like Glen and George anymore!
I meant gee Steve Carrell sure can sing jk lol

V
This is a Carroll McGruder song! I don’t like when other groups use other peoples song!
