Hey Gemma! I used to watch your videos as a kid and they were the reason I fell in love with making food. Food became my escape and I'd use it to channel my creativity. Thank you so much for the videos you put out cuz they made me the person I am today. Lots and lots of love ❤️
Okay, not gonna lie, for about half a second I thought “how to make a frozen pizza better…”, and presumed you were going to add extra cheese and stuff to a frozen pizza, as I have done many times in my life… I SHOULD HAVE KNOWN BETTER!!!😂🙏❤️
Made these last week following your recipe to the letter... Also your pizza sauce recipe... Well... I just got our first one out of the freezer to have for lunch, myself and my children think it's the best frozen pizza we have ever had. Thank you for sharing, I'll never go back to shop bought now. 😊
I've made your dough for years and it is by far the best homemade pizza crust I have ever had. The only problem is the time it takes. This solves that problem if you want your delicious pizza NOW.
I eat Schwans" frozen Ultimate Crust Pizza often and I always wanted to try to make my own frozen homemade pizzas sometime. Thank you for sharing, Gemma! I enjoy learning new things how to bake from you.
I love this! Frozen pizza is getting much more expensive than I'd like. My kids go through it quickly, too. Now I'm going to save money and it's going to be the topped with better cheese and other ingredients!
You've inspired me to try a little experiment. I occasionally buy loaves of French bread from the store, but I usually waste half of them. I cannot eat them all. I think those wasted halves could be parbaked and then turned into frozen French bread pizzas. 😃
Oh my goodness I am so excited to try this. I have made pizza for years but fermenting dough is brilliant!! Thank you so much for sharing this!! Have a blessed day & a Happy Thanksgiving 🦃
Thank you SO much for this recipe. I’m cooking for my elderly parents and thus need recipes I can make ahead and freeze. Pizza will be a nice treat for them. I’m not having lucky making casseroles with pasta for the freezer-too often the pasta gets “mushy” and that’s even when I don’t fully cook the pasta - in fact I’m not even cooking it to the “el dente stage”-I’d love these meals to turn out better for them…
That is how I make mine. I also make mini pizzas like that and when we go camping we just finish it on a our portable weber bbq. I bring couple 6" pizza pans, preheat them, take my frozen pizza out of the cooler and after day of fishing, swimming and hiking just make these babies with premade salad that we toss with our own vinaigraitte and voila.
Very nice pizza recipie and very nice tips Gemma! They looks amazing like a fresh! Me wen i frozen pizza i bake them! I leet them coll an after i freez them! And i warm in microwave! Have a nice day and good weeken! Have a good month! 👍👏🍕🍕🍕
I love this idea! I normally just freeze the dough in balls and make the pizza the day of, but this seems so much better! I can make more pizzas at one time 😊 thank you
Hello Gemma ✋ Great idea. I’ll never buy frozen 🍕 pizza again. Love all your videos and will keep 👀 watching. Give Lil George 🙋a big hug. 👍. Stay blessed and safe. 🙏💙
Many thumbs up 👍👍👍. I will throw away my store bought and do this! So much healthier and better tasting. There are days you just do not feel like cooking and go for those frozen pizzas. Thanks Gemma!
I'm reverting to my youth with this request... what about bagel bites for a great after school or summer lunch for the kiddos? LOVE the frozen pizza idea. I'm thinking I would bake one, freeze 1. I'd probably divide my dough into 2 or 3, because I want a bigger pizza than 10" for the family. :)
So if this wasn't going into the freezer, do you still par bake and then add toppings and then cook immediately? Or do you add all toppings onto the uncooked dough and then cook it?
If you're going for baking it immediately, then there's no need to parbake the crust. But you need to precook the meat toppings prior to topping the pizza. Hope this helps.
When I was a kid, there was a pizza place where they stretched the dough by throwing it into the air. We didn’t get many pizzas in my family, but we kids probably enjoyed the show as much as, if not more than, the pizza.
Commercial frozen pizza can be kept anywhere between 6 months to a year. This will keep for half that time, provided you store it in a deep freeze type of refrigerator. It's par baked first, before freezing. There's no need to let it rise a second time before freezing. You just need to pop it into the oven to bake fully. You can read up the full text in the tips section as well as the recipe itself here, www.biggerbolderbaking.com/homemade-frozen-pizza/#wprm-recipe-container-47983

It seems like it would be easier to just have the dough balls in the fridge then assemble and cook the pizza through the week. Of course I eat frozen pizzas almost everyday 😅 Can’t beat the convenience of having all your daily food done in 20 min, and hands free at that. So maybe the longer keep time in the freezer is appealing for others. I’ll greatly increase my health by making my own pizzas with much more nutritious toppings

Hi Kelly. Yes, I’ve been using it in many of my recipes. Hope you’ll give my frozen pizza recipe, www.biggerbolderbaking.com/homemade-frozen-pizza/ a go.
Wonderful. I’m not a big fan of frozen pizzas though I’ve had a few in my life. Believe it or not, the cheapest is my favorite because of the crust, Totino’s. The sauce isn’t bad either. I rarely buy them. I make them at home. However I do like a pizza from Papa Murthy’s with thin crust, Alfredo sauce, fresh Roma tomatoes and zucchini. My go to pizza if I buy one. I generally lean toward veggie toppings, but do like sausage now and again. Thanks, Gemma.
Hi. Just continue to feed it like you routinely do. Just remove the hooch that may have collected on top of it. That liquid is the alcohol given off as wild yeast ferments. The presence of hooch indicates that your starter is hungry and needs to be fed.
Love the idea of homemade frozen pizza! My question is about whether it really matters whether you use active dry yeast or instant yeast since the dough is fermenting for such a long time - 12 to 18 hours. And can you confirm that “quick rise” yeast is the same as instant yeast? I always thought I would have to order instant yeast online rather than being able to buy it in my grocery store as “quick rise” yeast.

Hi Linda. For pie crusts, you can freeze it for around half an hour then blind bake for around 10 minutes. Let it cool, then wrap with foil and cling wrap and freeze. For breads, if baking within two weeks, freeze the raw dough straight away. You can also bake and freeze. I prefer the latter as it’s more convenient for working parents.
Hi. I recommend you try my best ever pizza dough www.biggerbolderbaking.com/best-ever-pizza-dough/ The dough can be kept in the fridge for up to 5 days at this stage and baked off any time. While in the fridge the flavor will deepen over that time, developing sourdough characteristics. Or you can freeze it for up to 4 to 6 weeks. Hope this helps.

Technically, you can use whole wheat flour. You may need to adjust the amount of liquids used as flours do not absorb liquids the same way. As to GF flour, you will need a different recipe instead of merely substituting the flour. GF flours do not need yeast, so you will need baking powder. It will not be as flavorful on its own, hence an adjustment in other ingredients as well.

Could you use this same dough to make calzones and freeze them too … or would partially baking the filling not work?
I haven’t tried it yet, but if I’m experimenting then I would most likely partially cook or bake the filling will be the way to go.

I’m glad you get on well with that recipe too.
What is the round thing in the oven called that you slide the dough on to cook?
It’s a pizza stone. I use it to trap heat, thus evenly baking the crust.

Frozen, breaded chicken nuggets or tenders. We eat alot of the those. They also probably have a "laundry list" of ingredients. 😕
Why not use max temp on our ovens to cook the pizza????
For frozen pizza, you don’t want to burn it before it’s baked through.
I'm guessing that I could use a sourdough but it would just take longer. Am I right, Gemma?
The process would be almost the same. The bulk fermentation process takes 12-18 hours for this. You can do the same with sourdough.
