+Pharaoh Bhang Point being? Time of origin (both the video and the commentator's birth) has nothing to do with someone "finally" feeling understood. I fail to understand why you posted your comment.
If it wasn't for Tim Burton, I would've given up on myself. I've never fitted in and have always struggled making friends. But Tim Burton taught me to embrace that and use it to my advantage by being creative. I wouldn't be the person I am today without him.
I hope it's got better for you. I used to be shy at school and only had around 2-3 friends. It makes me cherish friendship more that way. After high school it was new friends again unfortunately as they faded away one getting into drugs and things. My Shyness became the opposite when i went to asia and talked so much because they are so friendly over there like noone judging. However I did then meet a live streamer from the USA in Japan and recently wrecked my head when they called me a weirdo afterwards. The only things that i feel i did was either my high pitched voice, me just barging in and saying something which would have only made sense if i was typing it in their chat room (i.e I didn't say hello nice to meet you but just carried on the conversation, it was about helping him find his other streamer friend) Or it was just my talking a lot or my sounding negative when i said i escaped the other streamer because they were nervous. But it got me thinking about what i did wrong. They mentioned their other friend was low key unlike me so maybe it was that i was rude but why use the word weird? I don't undestand that. I think the word shouldn't be used at all, if they said i was just rude by not saying hello or i was loud then i can learn from that but now i feel confused.
I’m the same but I’m not as creative. I never fitted in and was bullied badly at school. I struggle making friends and when I felt most alone in this world Tim burton and his world was there beetlejuice being my fav movie growing up and relating to Emily’s heartbreak and love from corpse bride and just feeling safe and at home at peace in his world
i thank this guy for giving me a sense of art when i felt isolated in middle and high school. i thank this guy for living on the times of old horror movies and film styles that would've otherwise been lost to new generations. i love him, and am thankful for his imaginative innovations to describing human emotions and senses of self that would not be conveyed so artistically and simply. he really reached out to me, and if you think he's a freak, then that's exactly the right idea. open your mind and hearts to what may not be reality to YOU, but for others, and you expand your world. thank you tim, your love of filming and art changed my life.
I love Tim Burton! I was also really disliked in school and called weird. At first it really hurt me but now I am proud to be weird because that means different and I never want to be the same as everybody else.
Tim taught me to see the bright side of being the outcast. I was that girl who always had her nose in a sketchbook and didn't really talk to anyone. I could do what I wanted and no one thought any weirder of me.
Okay. Now I'm kinda glad I wasn't in high school with Tim. Him having a friend might have changed something and he's just so awesome the way he turned out. I would have been good friends with him since I'm REALLY quirky and weird myself (I've got autism and a lot of weird quirks, anxieties and fixations), but given the choice between going back in time to be his high school friend and only having maybe 1 chance to meet him the way he is now, I'd pick the second choice.
This is why Tim Burton is my favorite movie Director. He just has this aesthetic, personality, etc. If a movie is produced, animated, or directed by Tim Burton. I'm gonna love ie
My father showed me Tim Burton movies as a child, and up to this day, he's the only person who understands me. Well, I understand him. Not being liked in highschool for no reason, but I don't mind :) I love Tim Burton. To me, he's the most attractive man in Hollywood.
I'm Goth and a metalhead. I love Goth Rock, Deathrock, Coldwave, and Metal Music, and more.. I've been like this for 14 years. I'm weird to others, but I feel normal being myself. Even if that means I'm alone for the rest of my life or people roll their eyes or get upset when they see me. Nothing I can do for haters.. and nothing they can do for me. Great video. Edward Scissorhands will always be a masterpiece, and the fact that Ice Nine Kills, and Motionless In White made their own version of a Edward Scissorhands song makes it cooler to.
People are always asking if it's okay to do something in fear of others. Being weird is owning yourself. The truth of weirdness is not letting society dictate the way you feel about things because that's not naturally you
People have always told me that I'm weird or unusual for how I am and what I like, and so I thought that something was wrong with me, and I was embarrassed of who I am. But then seeing people like Tim Burton has inspired me to embrace my weirdness. And I use my own, eccentric ways to create art and films, because being an artist is my biggest passion. I love being a freak! X)
One thing is certain for sure. Tim Burton shaped my childhood and had massive impact on my life. Later as an adult I've learned that 8 out of my top 10 movies were directed by him and as a kid I could sense his vibe in all of his movies

Yeah, but people like Tim Burton, Grant Morrison or Neil Gaiman used their weirdness to do fantastic sfuff; not going full "imma special kid and fuck all those preppies in high school for shunning me!" like our current generation of "weirdos" do.
+Sunstrider Not all kids are like that, and I think for most, if not all, its just a phase that we eventually grow out of. For sure! If people are tying to push you down, or say, "You'd be more popular if you do x or y..", then they aren't really worthy friends to begin with.
Yep. And the worst part? The girl I was talking about first told me the same you just said, don't ley anyone push you down and stuff. But that's something she says when there are people around who can hear her, when we are alone she says stuff as 'Don't do it, you will never make it' because she wants to 'help' me. I don't have a lot of friends. I have 2 realy ones, so that's something. Also, there's a Tim Burton collection in a museum 1 hour driving~ So that's good :)
That sucks, although it's good you have real ones.. In my own experience, I've found that it's better to have a couple of true friends than be insanely popular and be miserable. Quality over quantity, it seems. And whaaaat? I'm so jealous! (Also sorry for the late response.)
Tim Burton was a hero of mine growing up, he was just someone who was similar to me enough, that I felt like he would get me, get what I was all about. He still is a hero of mine to be honest.

he's got a trademark artstyle. I can spot a Tim Burton character anywhere, but he fucks up my favorite childhood movies.
