100% my favorite player! I’ve been adding his equipment demos to my practice lists. I like the Gibson LP Std P90 vs HB playing. It would be cool if there was a sheet or tab of it, I would love to learn it. #morecoopernoodlin
Beautiful Cooper. Jazzy bluesy!! I just ordered a Baja Tele in butterscotch blonde. I wish I had waited for this review and Chris’s Nashville Ultra model and
The day I picked up my player plus tele in Aged Candy Apple Red, a friend of mine stopped over and saw the color. We were discussing the color and He pulled out his cellphone and pulled up pics of his father's 1957 Chevy painted Candy Apple Red IN the 50's. Fender nailed it. That 65 year old Candy Apple Red was exactly the color of fenders paint job. At least close enough to call it proper. Great show guys, always enjoy watching your videos!
I just bought the strat player plus top Sienna's sunburst with added humbucker like Cooper was playing, plus top means flamed maple top, maple neck , really impressed. Couldn't afford the top of line but I'm good with it. Love it. Thanks for review, subscribed. I'm 70 yrs old , still love playing .
Hi guys, I got an Aged Candy Apple Red Tele Nashville recently for my anniversary present from my wife. It’s an unusual colour so will take a little getting used to but what a guitar. Pleased with it and also to hear from you that there is some hand build in these guitars. So many features that you mentioned that aren’t mentioned elsewhere by others who have reviewed these Player Plus guitars so you’ve won me, I’m subscribing.
I recently grabbed Player plus silverburst HSS second hand for a song and i have to admit. These are the only noiseless singles I like (though they are compressed), and the fireball humbucker is GREAT. The playability is actually superior to my Pro II. I was very surprised. Happy days.
The Silverburst has been phenomenal. I swapped the neck for a maple player plus so I don’t lose the rolled edges, which makes a difference! The tones are great, and definitely worth it. I even installed a kill switch. Only guitar I’m truly into
I have the aged candy apple and it is so much more gorgeous in person. Was thinking a cream pick guard would put it over the top but the more I look at the tortois shell it grows on me.
Cooper YOU ROCK! I love how you play and it inspires me to practice, love coming back here to your videos and just watch how you play that guitar! DUDE YOU ARE AMAZING!
They're the made in Mexico version of the American Professional II - but without the sculpted heel. Still, if the MiM recent history is any indication, these will be quality instruments. Good job Fender. MORE COLORS PLEASE!
Pro II has V-Mod II single coils. These have "Player Plus Noiseless" pickups. I don't know how those differ from the Gen 4 Noiseless, but they differ from the Pro II in that way. Also, the Pro II line doesn't come with locking tuners.
Anyone who says noiseless pickups can’t sound Stratty are tone deaf!! This video proves my point that you can have noiseless technology and still maintain Stratty tones!
How about a video focusing on the new pickups? Fender's calling them the "Player Plus Noiseless" pickups, which raises the question, "how are they different from the Gen 4 Noiseless"? What did they change? And, of course, a comparison with the single coils, the Three Player Series from the Player line, and the V-Mod II in the Pro II line.
All time favorite Cooper Greenberg song: “Cactus Flower”. “Today is the Last Day I Can Keep This To Myself” is also up there. Before too long, I predict there will be a Cooper Greenberg Signature Edition Tele in “Golden Apple”.
I would say Cooper with that swell shirt is most definitely a ,++.. His hair is so shinny and beautiful. Anyone else get hot when Cooper said " bucking the hum", or " push push", so saucey in my book.
I’m not sure, but I like the blocked saddle, locking tuners and rolled fret edges. I wish some of these weren’t so heavy over 8/lbs weighs as much as a LP but that Olympic Pearl finish is beautiful and as my first quality guitar I’m just hoping it’s under 8/lbs when it gets here Friday 🤞. I’m playing a $170 Epiphone Les Paul special ii so I’m assuming it’s nowhere but up compared to that
I have a yamaha rgx 121z It has a strat design 2 hunbuckers and 1 single coil 5 pickup patterns You did a video on the strat with 5 pickups Does it apply in the same way? Please reply
Even though it's a Mexican strat, Ensenada is Baja California, which means Lower California, the given nomenclature by the Spaniards, so it's still made in California.
I got VERY lucky with my player series tele. The board is as dark as any rosewood ive had, very even minimal figuring. Ive seen some that look almost orange. I’m very grateful
That was my second choice, I just don’t like Pau Ferro. My first Strat and I got the Olympic Pearl and it looks amazing with the candy apple red pick guard! I’ve heard these can be on the heavier side like over 8lbs… I hope mine is low 7/lb range
A little Texas funk? Ear fart on your part big guy. Noiseless equals toneless for me. A Telecaster needs an original bridge pickup, delay and compression to sound like a Telecaster to me... You guys are great musicians and have interesting opinions. And, you got guitars to sell. I always buy used thus of no consequence to ya! Take care. 🤘
It looks like burnt orange to me. There was always one guy in high school that had their car painted burnt orange and that guitar looks just like it lol.
I was casually looking at the Ultras and Pro 2s and heard a demo of the Nashville Players Tele. That has a Strat type pickup as wella s the neck and bridge noiseless PUs. the reviewer was getting some highly varied sounds, rock to jazz, out of it. I agree its hard to see an extra 500-1000 for the American ones , unless the pickups are lesser quality.I suspect , though, yours will hold value better.
So, being not very knowledgeable about pickup wiring , “hotness” etc, there is a difference in quality or sound between the Mexico made and American Pros or Ultras? I saw a couple of demos for the new Jazzmaster Ultra and that sounded really good and maybe more useful to me. I gathered those pickups are wired somewhat differently? At my age ,it’s one and done, whichever that is!
As always great playing guys...and that finish is so beautiful on that strat (tequila sunrise)...to bad that's the only reason to buy this guitar. I love Fender amps and guitars, I really do, but lately seems like all they ever put out anymore in terms of necks are the Modern C neck or deep C neck and those necks are good for beginners but not for me or all the other guitar players I know. I have been playing on stage and every kind of venue for over forty years and a point of fact is...very few of the guitar players I know or have ever known ever use a C neck for very long. Most of them convert to a soft V, mid sixties C or something thicker like an oval (SRV model) and even a few of them like the fifties U shape (baseball neck). Fender also seems to be pushing those noiseless pups of theirs, I know Beck and Clapton use them and at one time many of my friends and I tried and used them (briefly) but now, no one I know or have known still uses them. We try them every now and again to see if they have gotten better, but in the end the tone is just not there so we always wind up replacing them for something else with much better tonal qualities. One last thing I would like to mention, is that those Zinc blocks on the bridge are not good for sustain or sound transfer, they sound cheap and are cheap. I preface all I have said to say this... If you are a beginner this is a good little guitar for you...however at this price point it's unlikely you would choose this guitar. Again, the paint job (and maybe the nice saddles) is the best thing about this guitar. For me to buy this guitar would mean I would have to upgrade almost everything on it i.e. neck, bridge (not the saddles), tuners, pickups and most likely the wiring assembly and strap locks, which would cost me another grand or so depending on the cost of the pups and neck I would use. If it was in the $500.00 range I might consider it just because of the the paint job...MAYBE. IMO, Fenders pricing of there "MADE IN MEXICO GUITARS" have gotten way out of control. With whats available on the internet I can build my own guitar with close to top of the line everything (including Nitro Paint) for less than what there charging for this guitar. C'mon Fender you can do better than this. PEACE
Great playing as usual! I feel happy since despite the qualities of these new models, I really don't like the colors and that's a blocking point for me: this video won't make a hole in my pocket 😀
To be honest,I am as confused as ever, when a strat was a STRAT and a Tele was a TELE things were much easier, as it is, it's so easy to make a £1500 mistake ! under the circumstances I think I will stay with my Les Pauls as I know exactly what I'm getting without the overthin chank that will possibly take the ears off of my audiences 🙂👍
I wouldn't say garbage, but overpriced........definitely. If these sell I can see Fender upping their entry level American guitars by about 3 hundred bucks or so within the next couple of years.
Cooper Greenberg is the most under rated RUclips guitarist by far…. Classy smooth playing brother… -coming to ya from Georgetown TX 😉
Thanks man!! I appreciate it.
I wish I had waited for this review and Chris’s Nashville Ultra model and
I don’t know who’s under rating Cooper? I think he’s easily in the top 2 or 3 guitarists on RUclips!!
@@AlamoMusic Awesome playing man. What were those R&B licks you were playing starting at 20:35 ?
I agree: Cooper is an excellent guitarist. I enjoy his playing. Very bluesy.
The day I picked up my player plus tele in Aged Candy Apple Red, a friend of mine stopped over and saw the color. Love your work as always boys. I concur, Cooper is awesome. Turned me on to Blues and country in general.
Great content and tones for the Fender +. Great playing too by Cooper.🤘
They're the made in Mexico version of the American Professional II - but without the sculpted heel. Still, if the MiM recent history is any indication, these will be quality instruments. Good job Fender. MORE COLORS PLEASE!
mexican version of the american ultra

Great playing Cooper. You are an amazing guitarist.

I prefer the slightly warmer sound tbh, but yeah theyre very strat sounding, people are kidding themselves if they can't hear it.
A close up camera to the fretboard while Cooper's playing would be very interesting
Wow! I love the sound of the Tele Candy apple red!
You guys are the best. Keep up the good work
How about a video focusing on the new pickups? Fender's calling them the "Player Plus Noiseless" pickups, which raises the question, "how are they different from the Gen 4 Noiseless"? Like any master of their craft, cooper makes playing the guitar look so effortless and easy! Great reviews as always Alamo!
I’ll be by to pick one up directly!
Wow. Love that Fender Nashville American Ultra in butterscotch blonde and the Fender Player Plus Stratocaster. Thanks for the great review and demo.
He really shines on those teles
They sound a lot better than any PRS guitar, and cost a lot less.
Stunning playing. Stunning.
All time favorite Cooper Greenberg song: “Cactus Flower”. “Today is the Last Day I Can Keep This To Myself” is also up there. Before too long, I predict there will be a Cooper Greenberg Signature Edition Tele in “Golden Apple”.
Great video and awesome playing by Cooper!
I think I’ll wait for the double plus or maybe the triple plus series! With who knows what generation noiseless p/ups.
The strats sound great but a little to airy for me. The tele is dialed in just right for me. Nice Fender warm tone.
I would say Cooper with that swell shirt is most definitely a ,++.. His hair is so shinny and beautiful. Anyone else get hot when Cooper said " bucking the hum", or " push push", so saucey in my book.
Great video and information, love the colors and awesome playing.
What song is that @ 18:06?
How does it compare to the SE Silver Sky 😐
It is possibile to wire in serie bridge and middle single pu on player plus Stratocaster for a sound similar to hss version?
Hey Cooper , john from Ireland. What is your stance on noiseless vs original pickups ?? And what is your preference ?
Another great video. The sheer number if model types is close to ridiculous! Seems like over kill
Hey guys! Thank you for your great videos. Luv y'all! Could you guys review Harley Benton guitars like the CLD-41?
can you put a 11 hole modern style ST-style pickguard to this player plus SSS stratocaster?
Hahaha his face when McKee said slip out the nut slot I love you guys lol
Super Information , cool Guitar Working
Nice Jammin!
7:46 Cooper restraining himself from reacting to "nut slot" 😂
Ope nevermind. 8:00
I'm in love with telecaster
How is the plus line of fender guitars different than the deluxe line guitars they replace, besides that these plus guitars lack the rounded heel?
the noiseless pickups.
12 radius in plus compared to others 7.25 or 9.5
I’m not sure, but I like the blocked saddle, locking tuners and rolled fret edges. I have a Player player plus top, aged cherry burst sss with all the player plus goodies 😎👍
no green one? :(
BEAUTIFUL !!!!!!!
Can I get a Plus in Pandemic Holiday Rainbow?
I have a yamaha rgx 121z
It has a strat design
2 hunbuckers and 1 single coil
5 pickup patterns
You did a video on the strat with 5 pickups
Does it apply in the same way?
Please reply
Cooper is an awesome guitar player....Plus😉🎶😁🎸
Mexican Ultra, brilliant analogy.
Cooper! Do you have these tunes you played available for sales?
pretty sure he just improvises those.
The guitar is so beautiful 😍😍
Alamo Music Plus ™️
I wouldn't think i would like this color but that Tequila Sunrise got johnsing lol
I like these guys more than the casino guitars guys.
I'm just here for Cooper.
Where are the basses you promised in the beginning????? M.......,.
Even though it's a Mexican strat, Ensenada is Baja California, which means Lower California, the given nomenclature by the Spaniards, so it's still made in California.
It's not American quality though that's all that matters.
Mango and Chamoy!!! That was great guys. LOL.
Hey duderinos, you know what Pau Ferro means in Portuguese? Iron Wood, just found out.
You forgot the neck radius. I'm pretty sure they all have 12" radii.
Burnt orange tele 😎
This is one of the best videos, awesome:) Now I have to a have a conversation with myself re: aged candy apple red!
Damn...dude is really good
I watched for the info and the demo. I stayed for Cooper cracking up at g-string and nut jokes.
I wish they'd put rosewood fretboard on the Mexican fenders, pau ferro just looks ugly to me
I got VERY lucky with my player series tele. The board is as dark as any rosewood ive had, very even minimal figuring. Ive seen some that look almost orange. I’m very grateful
Silver burst. Must have.
That was my second choice, I just don’t like Pau Ferro. My first Strat and I got the Olympic Pearl and it looks amazing with the candy apple red pick guard! I’ve heard these can be on the heavier side like over 8lbs… I hope mine is low 7/lb range
Tomato cream bisque is what the aged candy apple looks like.

With all these upgrades and extra cost, Fender couldn't spend an extra $5 and put a real bone nut in?
I feel sick having just purchased an American Pro II strat. These MIM seem to have better specs imo and are $500 less!
I was casually looking at the Ultras and Pro 2s and heard a demo of the Nashville Players Tele. The Pro II pickups are so much better, noiseless Strat pickups are mini humbuckers and simply don’t sound as good.
I purchased an Ultra strat and am kind of feeling the same way.

specs are very different between these two .
At some point Fender will introduce multiplication into the equation and then we are all doomed!
The aged candy apple red looks more like a tangerine.
It looks kind a like a orange color
nice
Alamo music plus 😆
As always great playing guys...and that finish is so beautiful on that strat (tequila sunrise)...to bad that's the only reason to buy this guitar.

bronze or copper
The Reggie Burst? I’m a Reggie what is it
It’s Copper Cooper.
The strat ice pick sound would kill your audience on a live gig eh.
RED...But with a slight overtone.
The Tele looks burnt orange to me
Great playing as usual! I feel happy since despite the qualities of these new models, I really don't like the colors and that's a blocking point for me: this video won't make a hole in my pocket 😀
More playing less talking.
These are the same price as the Yamaha rs 820 cr but absolutely nowhere near the quality.
Yes it's never good when something pops out of the nuts....
Right Hand Fender Player Plus options = 36. Left Hand Fender Player Plus options = zero.
I will never understand why people deliberatly choose to play left handed and complain about guitar options
I can play both left and right handed. However, I am better at playing guitar left handed as that is my dominant orientation for guitar playing.
Overpriced garbage pushed by social media influencers
I wouldn't say garbage, but overpriced........definitely. If these sell I can see Fender upping their entry level American guitars by about 3 hundred bucks or so within the next couple of years.
