I watch a lot of decluttering RUclips channels, they all say the same things, get rid of excess things in the house to make tidying easier. So you really don’t have to watch all of them unless you enjoy watching them. The space maker videos are interesting because she travels quite a bit and helps people living in Asia. Two of her series recently are very motivational. I look forward to her videos I enjoy seeing how people live in other countries. I enjoy watching your life in the UK. it is a welcome change from the American RUclipsrs. I am in Canada so seeing Americans so often on my timeline makes me appreciate your UK perspective.

Hi Emma, regarding your daughters’s school certificates, there are special folders or binders you can get with a section for each year that allows you to keep things like that for her.
Re our new house build, the building company are due to start in the next few weeks so we are still a few months away from being able to move in but I am poring over the plans to try and work out the best places for our things. It’s very exciting 😊

Emma it sounds like your daughter likes a lot of what I liked as a little girl, I loved being given a list to go through, made me feel like I'd accomplished and helped my mum or dad or whoever, it also made me look at things as I grew and make my own lists and now I'm super organised as an adult, I'm still writing lists when I have lots to do even Christmas and holiday organising or decorating etc. I loved hearing about you paying it forward like that, I do that all the time! I just like nothing more than feeling like I've made a difference to someone who might really need it.I do it all the time a bit addicted to it I'm afraid, I think I've had such loss it makes me feel better somehow. A lady near my home was in hospital with her husband who was in the end stages of Alzheimer's. She was coming and going with her 3 adult daughters from early hours to late and coming home exhausted. So I organised as home delivery of shopping, just groceries, milk, tea coffee, soups, easily to cook and eat quickly things, things she could take to hospital with her biscuits chocolates flowers. I wished I could have done it without her knowing who it was but my name etc was on the receipt for the shopping She came later after her husband passed away 3 days later and said I'd been a blessing and had made such a difference being able to not worry about getting milk or having something in the cupboard and fridge already and that she and her daughters loved having the chocolates and biscuits etc in the room during those long days. Its so small but I believe you can be the person that is answering someone's prayers.

Hi Emma. Good work on your daughter’s snack cupboard and getting some space - but have you taken on board the next step? You know that she doesn’t ask for sweet stuff and it goes out of date and ends up in the bin, so your next step, and the most important one, is to not buy any more until the cupboard is empty. In the supermarket as you reach for the biscuits or whatever remind yourself that it will be a waste to buy them. All your efforts in getting rid of things will be sabotaged if you keep bringing new things in and that would be discouraging for you when you’re doing so well. Have you binned that basil plant yet? 😁

You are a good mom. A good majority of parents don't bother to teach their children to thank someone for a gift, whether it is a note, text, email, or phone call. Your daughter buying thank you cards on her own shows how well you are raising her.
It was very kind of you to pay for the broken item for the family. Paying it forward was popular here in the US during Covid, or someone at a restaurant would pay for the meal of an elderly person or couple. A little kindness goes a long way.

I had to laugh earlier in the video when I saw that you had books on top of your built-in cabinet in the lounge! Children are 13 to 14 when they start high school here in the United States. I would suggest moving forward sooner than later with your yard sale to keep up your momentum. Also, make sure you're keeping up with your daily chores even when you're doing your decluttering. You don't want your kitchen to get so far behind that you feel overwhelmed.

What a truly lovely thought to pay for the breakage !! If only the world was full of of people like you Emma , what a wonderful place it would be !! It’s a brilliant idea not to buy what you already have . We moved to our new home 3 yrs. ago , still dressing the house with homey bits but my husband and I don’t ever buy things unless we really need them . Cuts down on clutter .
