    It is SO funny to me when reps brag that their company "pays for their gas" or "pays for their groceries". EVERYONE'S jobs pay for their gas and groceries 🙃 My husband and I joke about this all the time, he always sends me a picture when he's filling up his car with gas, and says how thankful he is for his company allowing him to put gas in his car 🤣

    Also I noticed that it is only MLM huns that are butthurt over people not buying from them. I have never seen genuine small businesses say that people aren't supporting them if they have low or no sales.

      In the fall there was a trend on tiktok where people posted an item they sold with the tag line "show me something you thought would sell good but didn't sell at all". Then you'd see a post after "omg thanks for all the sales!" Bc people fell for their sob story and bought all of the items. I always had a bad feeling about it bc I felt like it was honest for a few shops but mostly a good way to scam people into buying something bc they took pity on you.

    Licensed cosmetologist here: Lady #1 doesn't know what she's talking about (Shocker!). Absolutely zero manufacturers can "require" you to sell their product. You rent a chair in a salon, you pay the owners of the building to conduct business there. What products you use are entirely up to you, HOWEVER, of course higher grade product is what's generally reached for. Many of the top quality hair product brands will not sell to the average consumer, but will sell to hair stylists. who can then sell to clients as necessary. It has to do with knowing what the product does and how it's intended to be used. These products are tested, regulated, and deemed safe for use. This is also why you don't see hair stylists using regular scissors to cut hair, or off-the-shelf coloring/styling tools: When you go to a salon, you want a quality that you can't achieve at home.
    EDIT: It's the difference between painting as a hobby and painting as a career, really. When your business relies completely on repeat customers, you want to give them every reason possible to come back. Not because they NEED it, but because it gives them something they can't give themselves. That is the foundation of every legitimate business: Restaurants give you food you can't give yourself, gyms give you motivation you can't give yourself, etc.

    On the prepaid card thing: most employers, especially of minimum wage jobs, offer this. I was offered one when I worked for Hobby Lobby. The main pro of getting one of these cards is that you do not have to have a bank account to have one. (Most bank accounts require you to have a mailing address, so a lot of unhoused people or people in transitional housing may not have a bank account or be able to get one.)

She convinced me I needed to consume lavender and peppermint oil. She even had me try to make lavender lemonade. My bf at the time, and I tried it out. We got incredibly ill, like call off work lay in bed all day sick, ill. That was when I told a nurse in my family about it who said no, do not ingest that. You shouldn't be consuming essential oils. The entire time I was thinking this woman seems deeply unhappy inside, and NOT actually “happy with her life”. Telling yourself and others you are happy doesn’t make it come true. Soooo many women only realized how miserable they were once they got out. If you look at Jessica Hickson, her videos from a couple years ago when she was with itworks (she was at the top making money) she looks like a completely different person than she is now. Even when she was pretending to be happy you can see how exhausted and sad she was under it. It’s sad that even when women want to get out, imagine how difficult it would be to admit that you were wrong and everyone else was right.. they fight soooo hard to prove MLMs are the best thing ever, and don’t want to lose face by getting out. Honestly it takes guts but anyone with common sense will know that they were just brainwashed and should be proud of having the strength to leave!

    This is what gets me each time with huns. The fact they're able to say they're okay with their own choices but take great offense to the choices of others. Especially when their potential customer/client/downline is not interested in buying the products, hearing their sob story, joining them, or just want to give an honest review of the product and why it doesn't work for them.

You can ONLY use the companies approved signs, business cards, what you have to order each month to stay active, what and how you’re website looks like, ect. They may not tell you what hours to work but the are telling you what you can and can’t do.

    It has been proved that a form of cult like behavior is feeling a collective feeling of victimization; meaning, the group bands together and grows a tighter bond when they are told that an outside group is “coming for them.” When she started going on about the salon companies coming for them, that rang some bells for me.

Unless you know for sure someone is on a health journey or if they openly talk about surgeries they have had, zip it! Keep your opinions to yourself. I'm so tired of that crap. I had a friend who lost a lot of weight because he was sick and struggling with something. Idk why people think it's ok to make comments on things like that without any knowledge. Grinds my gears.

    Good lord. Salons are not strong-armed by corporations to sell products. That is absoultely hilarious and baffling at the same time. I used to work at a salon/retailer and we carried a ton of brands because that's what our customers wanted and/or new up and coming brands/products were trending and they would be worthwhile to sell. Sure, reps come in and talk up their lines and products but in no way would they ever force us to sell them. Just. LOL. And...what you said about salon brands being "threatened" by Monat! Again...the delusion. There are thousands of haircare lines and no salon could carry all of them. So why would they bat an eye at Monat? These Monat reps double down like no other. Yikes

    Most debit cards work the exact same when used at a gas station. The pumps automatically put a hold on that money because it’s how they ensure that there are sufficient funds to cover the unknown cost of your gas, since you use your card before pumping.

    First clip, she implied that anti-mlm people were the ones piling on the personal attacks but she didn't outright say it so I'm doubtful that any of that happened as described. And I'm under no obligation to support someone just because they too are female. Imagine the worst examples of women now and in history. Are we supposed to support them because they were/are women? There's a woman last name Maxwell I'm not about to support (recent headlines).

  • @katnappd
    @katnappd 2 года назад +4

    This concept that women need to be supported no matter what is really toxic. And I'm saying this as a feminist. We shouldn't be supporting women's bad actions just because they're done by a woman - especially if those actions are harmful, and especially if they're harmful for other women. Accountability is key to empowerment.
    Edit: typos

    • @katnappd
      @katnappd 2 года назад +2

      I feel I need to elaborate: when Theresa May was the PM of UK she did so many harmful things that affected a whole country, and people were saying any critique of her was anti-feminist because she was a woman. If as a woman (especially one in power) you actively make decisions that harm women you deserve to be critiqued.
      Edit: typos

    Hannah! Thnks so much for bringing up the point about people who do make money. I was in MLM for 7ish years and made great money - so it was difficult for me to see what was wrong with the business model. Anytime someone anti-MLM cme at me, I couldn't relate o what they were saying because it wasn't my experience. It was only when I paused to look at what I had to do to make the money - and how it was on the back of many who failed (not their fault, because of the business model). I just did some very light Googling about the whole prepaid gift card thing, and I think it would be worth doing a deep dive video into it. It's actually fascinating. Here are a few ideas I saw that need more research to confirm. It's cheaper for the company to pay using these cards. They can be issued to anyone, no matter if they have a bank account or their citizenship status. These types of cards have more restrictions and associated fees for using them, and often the fees go back to the issuer (the MLM) -- think the shady credit cards the Kardashians came out with a long time ago. Anyway, I think there might be something there worth exploring. Great video as always!

    Hi! Ok so I worked at Bank of America's call center for a long time. Every single debit and credit card you use at a gas station will get that hold. 99.9% of the time, it's a $1 hold, and the gas amount is charged after the end of day processing. Fun fact! If you're SUPER strapped for cash, and in a really bad financial place, you can normally get gas on a credit card as long as you have at least $1 available. It WILL overdraw the account, and it WILL exceed the max credit card amount, but in an emergency, it's good to know. Keep in mind though that if you use a debit card, it might only let you get gas for the amount in your account though.
