If USA ever were to abandon/lose europe it is a HUGE amount of influence lost and something like China would probably start forming closer ties with europeans instead. Even if we don't look at any moral aspect of this war Ukraine with its large population could be one of these USA's major allies were the war ever to end. Helping Ukraine is significantly weakening Russia and they are one of the major competitors to USA. This aid is not actually that expensive and doesn't affect USA much anymore and it hurts Russia much more in comparison. Democracies align themselves with each other much easier than with authoritarians and if Russia was more powerful it would most likely try to hurt the USA too. There is no such thing as multipolarity. Ultimately everyone wants to be the best.
