@@martinlohne5128 The word for "soul" in the Hebrew means a person.
      נפשׁ
      nephesh
      neh'-fesh
From H5314; properly a breathing creature, that is, animal or (abstractly) vitality; used very widely in a literal, accommodated or figurative sense (bodily or mental)
The word means "a person" not a gossamer ghost that floats around after you die. We have the life of God that animates the body created from the dust of the earth.
The scripture you quoted Genesis 35:18 simply means she was dying "departing from this life". Not that her soul was leaving her body. Go read the Hebrew and the greek where it talks about the soul and the sprit. The soul IS the man the Spirt is the breath of life given by God.
The "life force in a person is referred to a "Ruach" or a wind or blowing. It was the breath of God. the Bible says that when you die the body returns to the dust of the earth and the "ruach" , breath or as some version call it "spirit" returns to God. Ecclesiastes 12:7
We do not have an immortal soul we are a soul the breath of life + the dust of the earth are the soul.
You are not immortal and you do not receive the "gift of immortality" until Christ returns and resurrects the dead and along with the righteous living meet Him in the air to go to heaven.
      Revelation 22:12-20
12 And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.
      1 Thessalonians 4:16-17
      King James Version
16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
The dead sinners are raised up after the 1000 years in heaven then they are consumed by fire from heaven. They do not go to hell when they die. The judgment must take place with the righteous in heaven. The righteous will judge even the angels but not until they are "taken up" to heaven after the 1st resurrection.
      Revelation 20:5-11
      King James Version
5 But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.
If you had an immortal soul like so many believe due to the lie of spiritism in the church why would christ need to resurrect the dead and take them to heaven if they are already there?
If you had an immortal soul and when directly to heaven the judgment would have had to taken place but the judgement is not completed until just before Christ's return and that is when he gives to the righteous the reward of eternal life when they are changed and take up in the twinkling of an eye.
      1 Corinthians 15
52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
The idea of an immortal soul is a lie of Spiritism brought into the church by the pagan Catholic church. At the end of time Satan will impersonate christ and fallen angels will impersonate the dead in an effort to sway people to believe he is Christ. They need you to believe the dead are already immortal so that you will believe. But the Bible is clear Christ comes takes the righteous dead and living to heaven and all others are destroyed by the brightness of His coming. There is no millennium on earth it Is in heaven. There are no 2nd chances all sinners are burned up. I could go on but hopefully you get the gist.

      But think.... deeply
" not saved people" are made of mud and living breath as well as the "saved ones"....
The choices you made during your life, makes you spiritual identity, what you will bring in heaven.
This entity, at first death, is sleeping, waiting to be resurrected, the others continue to sleep at the second coming.

A human being is composed of a body and an intangible element we could call intellect or mental processes. The "breath" in Genesis 2:7 is God's life giving principal; it's NOT air. When our body dies, God keeps a memory of all that constituted our mental processes in a sleeping state and restores them in an awake state to a body at the resurrection. In that respect, when our body dies, our soul or spirit is present with the Lord but it's in a deep sleep. There are many passages that show the soul, or mental processes of a person, sleeps when the body dies; here's one of them.
"And Solomon slept with his fathers, and was buried in the city of David his father: and Rehoboam his son reigned in his stead." 1 Kings 11:43.

The animals are also living souls...they will not be resurrected. They have also breath if life and body, but we have something more.... consciousness, power to take decisions..
When Jesus is coming back, what does he resurrect if body is gone and the life, heartbeat, is back to God ?
What I understand, our soul is sleeping and waiting the new body at the second coming.
You will love Lord with all your soul...
My spiritual entity... which stays sleeping on earth at our death...
If I leave on coma for 30 years from kids, I did not do anything wrong nor right, I am a living soul, what will be my future... death or life at the second coming ? Do not know, because there are no decisions taken for or against God, what is shaping our soul...
From birth to death, there is a long way, which build our soul... this is the only thing we will bring with us in heaven.

Hi Sam, great question. When Jesus comes back, He gives us a body as it pleases Him (1 Cor. 15:38). He won't be using the same sin-cursed material that our bodies are made up of now, but glorified, perfected material. He's God, so He is well able to accomplish that. Until that time, we are unconscious of any passage of time or of anything happening around us. But there will be a great gettin'-up morning coming in the near future when all of heaven will rejoice that Jesus has finally come to take His children home. For situations like the coma you referenced, we do best to leave those decisions to God, knowing that He is more interested in saving people than losing them. Remember that God is good all the time.

    • @samcotting5538
      @samcotting5538 Месяц назад

@itiswritten I understand He will give us a new body whatever material ....
But if we follow your teaching, to whom will He give a new body...? Old body is gone and living breath is in heaven....
      What is waiting?
      What is sleeping?
      What will be resurrected?
A third part is missing, our soul-spiritual-identity is sleeping, waiting for his Lord of Lord.

Hi @otienoclifford4425, thanks for watching. No, the Feast of Tabernacles was an annual feast that was kept by many believers until Jesus' death. It is not necessary to keep today, but the lessons it was meant to teach are still valid. Camp meetings contain some of the same elements of the Feast of Tabernacles (dwelling in temporary shelters, focusing on spiritual things, etc.) but they are not exactly interchangeable.

Hi @jodiebert3038, good question. It is entirely possible that there is no biblical association with certain dreams. Ecclesiastes 5:3 says, "For a dream cometh through the multitude of business." In other words, the things you find yourself engaged in while you are awake will likely influence what you dream about. It's not always the case, but it certainly does happen. And sometimes dreams are just random. We're sorry to hear times have been hard lately, our team will be praying for you. 🙏

Hi Janet, very good question. A dictionary definition and a biblical definition are sometimes, but not always, in sync with one another. The Merriam-Webster dictionary gives a similar definition to the one the Oxford dictionary gives, but it also gives the following definition as the third entry: "a person's total self". That is closer to the biblical definition of the word.

Well, gentlemen, you need to study your bible a bit more (preferably the real one) and you need to study ENGLISH.
These passages teach that we do have a soul that departs the body when we die.
"And it came to pass, as her soul was in departing, (for she died) that she called his name Ben-oni: but his father called him Benjamin." Genesis 35:18.
"And he stretched himself upon the child three times, and cried unto the LORD, and said, O LORD my God, I pray thee, let this child's soul come into him again. And the LORD heard the voice of Elijah; and the soul of the child came into him again, and he revived." 1 Kings 17:21-22.
Jesus Christ Himself clearly taught that the body AND a soul are part of a person. If you get out an ENGLISH dictionary, you will find that a person can also be called a soul. Like other languages, some words in ENGLISH can mean different things depending on the context. For this reason it can be said that a soul has a soul. Also note that only God can kill the soul in hell; that would be hell fire. That's right, Christian martyrs who were burned at the stake had their bodies destroyed but not their soul.
"And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell." Matthew 10:28.
Spirit can mean the same thing as soul depending on the context in which the word is used. And yes, the soul or spirit goes to sleep when we die.
"And they stoned Stephen, calling upon God, and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit. And he kneeled down, and cried with a loud voice, Lord, lay not this sin to their charge. And when he had said this, he fell asleep." Acts 7:59-60.
If you ask, I'll be happy to mail you a tract I've published that should help clear up your apparent confusion.

@@larrybedouin2921 Yeah, that makes a lot of sense. Man can kill but body but he can't kill "the breath." It was apparently God who snuffed out the breath of Christian martyrs and destroyed it in hell. By the way, when does hell start?
As for your G5590, you left out some of it. You're almost there though. Get an English dictionary and look up "soul" and then read the following complete definition of G5590 and things may possibly become clear to you. If not, I'm here to help, brother.
"5590. pauchē, psoo-kay'; from 5594; breath, i.e. (by impl.) spirit, abstr. or concr.
