I know last year was an anomaly but these are big changes that could totally put them back into playoff contention and perhaps beyond. Would love to see Ovie and the Caps go on another deep run.
i always think ab that as a lifelong caps fan myself. I think a lot about 2019 and how i think if we had won game 7 of the first round instead of the canes, we easily could've went to at least the third round. Ofc its hard to defend a title but we still had like 90% of our cup team still there in 2018-2019 and I think we certainly would've made it to the final four at least if game 7 of round 1 ended differently. A conference final run i would've been very proud of cause as i said its hard to defend a title and ofc the bruins that year were unbeatable. We easily would've thumped the isles in round 2 like the canes did in 4 or 5 then we prolly would've lost to them cause of that but we prolly would've put up a tougher and more entertaining fight than the canes did like lose in 5 or 6 rather than a sweep like the canes did. sorry for the long comment lol just a lot to dissect
@ Yeah its looking good so far. Would love to see Ovie get that record and go on a deep playoff run. Would be the cherry on top to an extraordinary legacy.
@@8JFJK8 the 2019-2020 roster was quite similar to the previous 2 when it came to out too 6 but are depth wasn’t as strong and the COVID bubble in the 2020 playoffs I think deflate team chemistry cause of the circumstances with no family, friends and fans and very little downtime. 2021 and 2022 and 2024 we were simply outplayed by higher seeded teams but yes 2019 I feel we were somewhat robbed of going to at least round 3. Obviously the canes are and we’re a great group but man in that double OT period they beat us simply out of pure luck. And yes hopefully we get to at least the second round. Obviously another run to the final or conference final would be legendary but I just wanna get out of round 1 again at least.
Given all that Ovy has done for the franchise, management has made the conscious choice to put off the rebuild until after he retires and most of the fans are ok with that. This chase is a rarity and you have to let him go for it. If it means swinging for the cheap seats with what will turn out to be bad contracts then so be it.
A friend of mine said that Dubois has a big attitude problem. He thinks he is better than anyone else and acts like it and doesnt want work as hard as everyone else. Like Nikolai Zherdev. Talented and skillfull as heck but lazy and undisciplined
His goal scoring pace after the all star break over an 82 game season would've had him at 61 goals at his age. He had a really bad start to the season. That's about it. This is a horrible take.
@@gallydex3566 I’m not gonna lie I didn’t like the move at first but considering the market and if he wants to play it could be quite smart. However there is a reason he’s been on 3 teams in as many years.

8:49 SHOTS FIRED LOL!
Ovie having a 22 goal 2nd half after being revitalized and leading that into this season will be fun to watch
They will be rewarded for trying to win I hope

i know winning a cup is a long shot but i sure hope the caps get a top 6 seed and at then get to at least the 2nd round in the playoffs.
Yep
How many 3rd round picks did they traded lol?
Pierre-Luc Dubois is still a malcontent bum. A classic example of looks like Tarzan plays like Jane.

The man has hit the wall. He's running on reputation, he'll play less than 60 games and won't score 25.

As of now he’s still injured, but this aged BAD lmao
Good luck with that pld contract after ovi retires next year😂
Looks like a great contract for a 1/2C to me!
