great video! I just completed my 1st year at Wake Forest University- it did go by so quickly. Great advice! Just a couple of things to add- 1. protect your study time, 2. be yourself, 3. stay organized, 4. beware of the hook-up culture and don't fall into that trap as you begin to want to socialize, 5. Prioritize and manage your time. I will be posting a "look back on my first year of college" soon. check us out: @ the (Mo&CloShow )
Thanks for the video!! I'm starting as a freshman this fall and I'm actually moving from Detroit to LA for college! So a big commute just like you, but I'm so excited!! Thanks for the advice!
Congrats! I am starting my first year of med school in the UK and I am super nervous! Thanks for the video :) (P.S I have been watching you for about 3 years and I am so proud at your RUclips success!)
Man and I've been done with high school since May 25. I'm going to South Carolina State on August 10 and I was very vocal about my views about that campus and my mom made me to there anyway. I'm concerned about the campus not being up to where I'd like to be.
Shamar Davis Awwwwww I am sorry that you have to go to a school you don't want to.....I didn't want to go there because I wanted to meet new people and not feel like I was going back to high school....so many ppl I went to high school with went there....I attended College of Charleston....but it was a long time ago....I am going on 41 so I have been out of highschool and college a while....I wish you well and hope things work out for you...
I'm a freshman this fall and majoring in social work!!! I'm leaving my home 1400 miles away and I'm so excited to start fresh. Thanks for these tips! ❤️❤️
I honestly can't wait to start college in the fall for my freshmen year. #ORU'21 Also continue to upload these amazing videos they're so helpful and give us incoming freshmen a sense of what to expect in college.
I learned that full scholarships are hard to come by. Also, woww perfect grades and numerous student involvement does not cut it for Ivy League colleges. However, it is highly recognized at other colleges.
Jobs? living arrangements? is it okay to get a studio apartment close to campus? whats good tips towards finances and paying for it without so much struggle?

trevinia turner I've toured 10 schools in Florida and Georgia. I found that every school allowed you to eat inside the cafeteria or give you a to-go box that you can fill up and take with you. But do not allow you to bring your own containers to fill up
I have just discovered your channel and guess what? I ALREADY LOVE IT! But i have some few questions if you don't mind answering. As an international student, should I apply for the University i want (such as USC) before asking for a scholarship? Bcs if i don't get the scholarship i can't study there in anyways (my parents can't afford it), and who should I ask for a scholarship?
Lady Ludivine some colleges don't give aid to international students so make sure wherever you apply at least gives grants and scholarships that cover the cost instead of worrying about that afterwards
thank you! but what if they provide aid to international students but i just don't get it, it useless to apply right? so that's why i am asking if i can get the scholarship before applying... i guess the answer is no...
Lady Ludivine You can use financial aid calculators on the university websites to see an estimate of how much aid they'll give you before applying. But you can always get other scholarships from outside companies and foundations at any time.
I'm an international student studying in the United States too. As an international student, you do not receive any federal aid which is financial aid so what you should hope for is scholarship. I am a college senior and my first requirement before going to any school is scholarship.
Girllll, I love your videos but you were touching the back of your hair and bringing it to the front way to many times. I couldn't even properly focus on the video. Just a tip for next time
Does it depend on the college you apply to whether or not dual enrollment courses count? Especially if it's out of state? Because I'm currently taking dual enrollment and AP courses in hs 😢 and I was wondering if any of it counted since I heard rumors that it didn't.
metallicado guac Depending on the college that you go to they may or may not accept your dual enrollment credit. BUUUUT usually they do, especially if they offer the class that you've taken on campus. Keep taking them regardless because they'll set you up for success when you transition to college! If you have any specific schools in mind check their websites or give their offices a call to see if the classes that you've taken/ will take are accepted towards your credits.
I definitely worry about my procrastination. Im worried I’ll procrastinate too much! Haha
*clap clap* on finishing your first year girl! And you're in LA yeeeeassss 🙌 I studied journalism (and mass comm) too!

Congratulations on your first year!!!!!!!!! Woohooooo
🙌🏻🙌🏻Starting college on Monday 👀 I’m gonna get lost.
I'm just confused how some schools have 3 billion endowment but give terrible financial aid .
TRUE THAT!
What exactly is an endowment? Based off of the context Im assuming its money set aside for financial aid/scholarships yearly??
Endowment is how much money donors give to the school. Doesn’t necessarily mean it is used for scholarships or financial aid.

Im in high school
when you have a meal plan do you have to eat in the cafeteria or can you take food to go?
trevinia turner I've toured 10 schools in Florida and Georgia. I found that every school allowed you to eat inside the cafeteria or give you a to-go box that you can fill up and take with you. But do not allow you to bring your own containers to fill up
Do not get a whole lot of classes with a lot of work. You will be stressed out!
