Thought I’d do something cool and different for you guys on Christmas Eve! Hope you enjoy this review on RAV4! It’s definitely a quiet one! Happy holidays and Merry Christmas to all my viewers and everyone!
I put sound dampening kill mats on metal surfaces under interior panels and also lined all the doors with foam acoustic paneling and it has helped tremendously, still trying to track down a few more infuriating rattles
Others manufacturer built in the exhaust manifold on the engine head thus decreasing noises from exhaust ports, Toyota has kept it traditional headers for engine performance so when you punch it the engine roars, at least is not artificial noise pump through your speakers 😅 Merry Xmas and a happy new year! Everyone 😊
We are the same. Got a rav4 hybrid 2024 and it’s so so loud… Around 70db on a highway. The toyota dealership said that they never heard about noise complaints in Rav4… we are the first 😂 they said “may be we don’t like the operational system of a hybrid 😅 it’s so personal”
If someone is reading this in June 2024, Yes, Rav4 2024 inside cabin is noisy. I compared it with Nissan Rogue 2024, its very less compared to Rav4. Also steering is soft and responsive than Rav4. Purchased a new Rogue 2024 SV today.
I'm looking around for a new compact SUV and a relatively quiet cabin is one of my requirements. This test seemed kind of lame. Just listening to the engine sound, it sounded more like you were just driving around the parking lot. If you want to do a proper test, take it on the highway with hard acceleration and passing other cars. Take it on a road with bumps and rough pavement. It just seemed to me that you simply didn't want to push the vehicle because it might reveal that the decibel meter may hit levels that other owners are complaining about. I have a 2017 Hyundai Elantra SE and that car absolutely has no sound insulation. Before the state repaved some roads in my area, the pavement was so rough, you literally could not hold a conversation with another person. It was almost deafening. I certainly don't want that problem in my next car and your test doesn't convince me to buy a 2024 Rav4. Sorry for being so blunt but that's how I feel.
When I got my xle premium 23 it was loud coming from a 2014 Santa Fe but now got used to it. Planning to put a sound dampening on it in the future though. I will start at the back where the spare. Hopefully it will work.
I have one and yes it is a little loud. The reason I think is because there is no insulation in the doors due to keeping prices lower but then again just my opinion.
I have 2018 Verso and 2020 RAV4, both gas. RAV4 is much louder even on humble accelerations (Verso is only 80kg lighter) and at speed there's also wind noise from the side mirror area that I don't have on a Verso. RAV4 has better gas mileage though thanks to a more efficient engine.
The stereo interface sucks. To get to simple radio station you gotta swipe thru all the apps just to turn on the radio. The radio station icons are way too big and you gotta scroll the screen to find the desired station. The 2023 RAV4 at least had dedicated source buttons, the 2024 no longer has buttons and causes distracted driving F'n around the screen just to tune in a radio station ! And the 2024 RAV4 engine is crazy noisier than my son's 2017 RAV4 !
I have a 23 Hybrid XSE and when that gasoline engine kicks in at IDLE wow! sometimes it sounds like a diesel. I brought it to Toyota and they said everything normal...NORMAL ! yeah right ok. Im not talking about road noise here, just the gas engine portion during Idle
If you ride in the backseats on the highway you'll need some ear plugs. The RAV4 is the loudest car I've been in after the Mazda Miata. That says a lot.
Overall I really like my Rav4 Limited Hybrid, but the uncomfortable seats and interior noise (engine and highway) are weak spots...much of the competition is better.
50-60 dB on city driving ? That's noisy already. It's gonna get louder when you're running 110-120 kph on a highway. As if you're on a cargo ship full of appliances simultaneously on! Anyways, enjoy sailing! 😅
It is too loud. Ive owned Opel Insignia 2018 before, it is beautifully silenced for motorway driving. RAV4 isnt really means for motorway driving so it's not really silenced but that means it is loud for ever other driving as well. Most noise comes from front wheel arches which will be first thing I will work on to silence it.
The video did not establish driving conditions speed, road surface type, and surface roads or free way. At 60 mph upward is where the noise can become apparent. In my experience testing Tesla louder in concrete free ways than asphalt. This video is inconclusive.
YOU COULD SHUT THE MOTOR OFF AT 60 MPH , AND IT WOULD STILL BE LOOOOOOUD! WAIT FOR THE 2015 CAMRY WITH 5.7 " GROUND CLEARANCE FOR SNOW AND AWD UNLESS YOU NEED THE CARGO ROOM, THAT NOBODY REALLY DOES
Its not the engine noise, its the wind the tires the road noise, toyota's are not Insulated enough , camry, corolla, rav4 they’re all noisy thats just a fact.
I measured yesterday our hybrid and we have a completely uninsulated boot. Toyota doesn’t have any options for us. Purchased the car a month ago… “as a very quite model”😅

Drive it at 70 mph on a highway and record again. This is in-town driving. Absurd, misleading test.
It's just a Toyota sponsored test, what do you expect?
I have a 2024 XLE and it is noisy! Ive been searching how to quiet the cabin a bit. Thats one of very few cons that I have.
I put sound dampening kill mats on metal surfaces under interior panels and also lined all the doors with foam acoustic paneling and it has helped tremendously, still trying to track down a few more infuriating rattles
Thank you for all your thoughtful videos! They sure helped me during the long wait for my 2022! Merry Christmas 🎄
Merry Christmas

My 2024 xle premium gets 70 to 80 db and spikes up to 114db at 100km/hr. 60mph. I didn’t really notice when I test drove or I wouldn’t have bought it.

Exactly. As far as I know, this diesel-ish noise comes from the high pressure pump, when the engine works in direct injection mode.
Thank you for some extra clarification.
It boggles the mind that we have to listen to things like this jn 2023

I added seat cushion on my xse hybrid and helps a lot. But then yours is Limited with cool front seats, so can't use seat cover.
@@matrix-fh9tn I'm trying to get by without a seat cusion, but have a memory-foam back rest that I love and am willing to give up the heating/cooling.
My 2024 RAV4 Limited hybrid has the worst road noise and rattles I’ve ever heard on a car
You should drive it on the highway at 110 km, driving in town didn't see any noisy element

I drove rav4 hybrid xle 2021 now i have rav 4 hybrid 2024 Limitid no compliance
Is there any upgrade from RAV4 hybrid 2022 to RAV4 hybrid 2024 about noise isolation?
Nope! 70db around the car. Worse in the area of the boot and backseats. Bought the car some weeks ago… and now I’m searching for solutions.
My other vehicle is a Ford truck with a 7.3L Powerstroke diesel...the RAV4 seems quiet 😂

WIND NOISE IN THE FRONT DOORS AT HIGHWAY SPEED 60 MPH

62 was the highest reading.
I'm just here to answer the question,,, Yes Yes it is
