  • Dangerous truck-sized icebergs find themselves littering the channel that was initially clear when we left the anchorage. How will we handle these floating obstructions? Watch us solo sail and film this unforgettable passage!
Curtis sails single-handed on the 46 foot sailboat, sailing upwind as he tacks through and around the chunks of ice, while Kate grabs the video and still cameras, launches the inflatable RIB and zooms through the icy cold water on a dangerous mission to capture this epic once in a lifetime footage.
Now grab a coffee and enjoy a sailing video that we had lots of fun making. Click subscribe and come along with the yacht Sailing Sweet Ruca for this awesome around the world sailing adventure with us!

I have watched those before I found Sailing Sweet Ruca. They are nice as well but, in my opinion, Sailing Sweet Ruca is the best on RUclips. The others, to me, were mostly about having some drinks, go skinny dipping and move to the next location. Don't get me wrong. They are all adults and can do as they please and it was entertaining to watch. As a non-sailor I was looking for a sailing channel to learn about sailing. Kate and Curtis seem very humble and are easy to make friends with. Kate is a beautiful young lady. Curtis seems happy go lucky. They both explain what they are doing and why they do it. Good communication between them and both have a great work ethic. Plus, they have Roxy who is friendly with everyone she meets. So again. Sailing Sweet Ruca for me is the best sailing channel on RUclips.@@Ninja_Sloth

Been there done that but the Latitude had an N after the number string! It’s burgy bits as they call them in Canada, not easy sailing , too small to show up on radar so a sharp watch is required. Frightening if you get a sea way running white horses make them even more difficult to spot. I got a chuckle when you broke out the scout dinghy to pilot you , we have done this too with radio and a handheld GPS to find a clear path.
I really enjoy following along , it’s a beautiful trip well sailed !
