hey all! This is part 2 of this series. Check pt1 here if you haven't seen it already: ruclips.net/video/hO0tVlnyLHU/видео.html
thanks for watching!
Juho...have you or Sohvi considered doing like Skype language lessons? My husband and I are working to move to Suomi in the next couple years. We wish to be able to pass our YKI. We've been studying on our own 18 mos and while he is at an A1.2, I am hitting A2.2.
Problem is we have NO native speakers around us! The friends we've made in Oulu prefer to speak in English! WE NEED SOMEONE TO TALK TO!😄❤️
It could be on your time, flexible schedule, even just once a month! Please consider it for a side hustle!
Hi i like your video. Alaska is my favorite country to visit someday. Greetings from tropical country here
Great skiing Juho. Sohvi will be so disappointed she missed out on such perfect snow and conditions.
Shimp Kitchen is fun too. Your dead pan delivery is priceless. Suits my British sense of humour very well.
Stay safe with all those big predators about.
Dead pan....lol
The bear wakes up and says "Hmm...I could swear I smell shrimp spread and rockfish fillets.... nah! can't be shrimp spread, no dill. " 8^) What a beautiful spot. Glad you had a good ski. I really liked the video. Hope Sohvi's doing great in Finland. Cheers!
This type of sailing is far more appealing to me than humid nights, Sandy beaches and 100° days. Beautiful.
Watching this vid and the other vids where you go skiing, I simply can not believe that you and Sohvi and your guest have the energy to trek seemingly miles uphill to super remote peaks way off in the distance, on skis no less, and then ski down! It's an incredible accomplishment just to get to the top and so far from Lumi. You all must be in really, really good physical condition!
Your bravery is commendable.
Free refills 👍
Trekking through the snow to the top of the mountain and filming while ⛷️ was superb. The drone footage displays the sheer magnitude of the magnificent location. 👌
Thanks for sharing. ❤
How does he manage the drone shots singlehanded? Amazing photos. Obviously I have never operated a drone. Great video. Thanks.
@@billkurek5576 I didn't notice the drone shots in this episode but I think uses something similar to the Insta360 cam; it was pretty effective at giving the aerial view but maybe a smidge tight.
We've been following you from day one and have said many times you have NO FEAR. We look forward to your episodes each time and make us laugh. Please continue the good work and the humour. 👍👍
@@billkurek5576 some drones have a follow me mode that allows you to have the drone follow you. The drone will follow the receiver that he carries.
We call that Gran it. Another beautiful place and wonderful photography well done with shrimp corner as well
Breathtaking views 😮 Beautiful snow & of course, the best sailboat ⛵️ Lumi. Have fun & be safe 🙋🏼♀️👍🏻🇺🇸
Hi! I'm from Canada and you probably sailed past our island on your way...I just wanted to let you know a little tip for catching more shrimp. We call them " spot prawns", btw.. We found success by changing our pot. The best ones can be bought through a company called, " Harbour Chandler". The pot that you want is called the" Bauer". We went from catching a few per pull, to probably 50 or more per pull. We just use the pellets, in about 300 to 500 feet of water. We love your videos! Happy fishing! Kathy and John
Juho...you are even getting better, vid by vid, on scenery and off-the-boat experiences. Keep up the great work and scenery shots. Remember: very few vids have the ability to view what you provide!
The landscape is stunning we really hope to make it there one day !
I've commented on this before but, congratulations, your photography is exceedingly good. I doubt anyone has captured the beauty of these majestic waters so well. Compulsive viewing !
Been following you for a long time and the content keeps improving…keep it up. Love the non dramatic true adventure. I’m on the west coast of BC Canada and have thought about sailing in to some of the fiords during the winter and strapping the boards on. You’ve inspired me to make that a reality. Btw, that’s not a poor man’s anchor wash….it’s a smart man’s!
The scenery is amazing. Excellent video… skiing and sailing… doesn’t get much better than that!
This is a remarkable channel! If I wasn’t a financial train wreck I would for sure be sending funds your way. Hopefully in the coming months I will be able to do so. Thank you so much !
Absolutely beautiful filming of this breathtaking scenery. Thank you!
Greetings from Scotland - I regret to admit that I only discovered your channel tonight - having binge watched it’s now 3am and I don’t regret a thing. I think this video in particular was one of your best. Brilliant work and keep it going
I am very impressed by your filming teknics! Sailing the dinky we get shots from a selfiestick, from drone, from cameras onboard - and all cut skillfully together to a seeworthy result. Must take a great deal of multitasking talent to do all the things you do - and then get it on film too. Good work!!!
Love from Denmark
One of the things I loved the most when I lived in the North was how you could see for 50 or 60 miles so clearly! Your ski trip view reminded me of that.... thank you
I haven't see it yet, but every time I see that you or Sam Holmes or Eric Anderaa upload a new video makes me happy, is like alright! Im going to prepare to see it and travel with you for a couple of minutes and dream and keep pushing to live that kind of life sooner than I expect. Thanks man!
Juho/Sohvi, Sam and Eric ... the holy three of sailing channels :)
So true!! You enjoy and learn a lot!! @@spidermoose
Same here.
Love your sense of humor. And your editing is truly A+ (or 10+ on a scale of 1 to 10). Very much appreciate the tight shots of details like dripping ice, mixed with wide views from the drone. The edit you did with the dinghy was wonderful!
I’m sailing and had enough data to watch one video. I was very happy it was this one. Thank you for your video. It was a very nice treat. 🇨🇦
We really enjoy your videos. The cinematography is beautiful. The shrimp cooking segments are fun. You have a great sense of humor.
Amazing cinematography done by one person.
Beautiful landscape. Love that skiing !
Looking forward to the next episode.
Classic Alluring Arctic drone shots and skiing. Another great episode Juho. Thanks for sharing.
This channel is great. I find high latitude sailing and scenery to be far more appealing than anything in the tropics. Im in New England and currently dont own a deep water boat but if i ever do, sailing up the east coast and through the northwest passage to Alaska would be an amazing voyage.
Absolutely beautiful filming of this breathtaking scenery. Thank you!. Absolutely beautiful filming of this breathtaking scenery. Thank you!.
That sunset view at the end!! Gorgeous!!
Amazing filming. Drone work is next level. 👍👏
I enjoy this channel more than breathing!!! Super great sailing channel!!! Cheers from Alberta canada
your drone shots are second to none
Great video!!! I’m following along the 30 day journey!!!! Alaska is so beautiful!! Thank you for uploading!!!
Dude your videos and commentary are very peaceful
Foraging for sea vegetation in Alaska can supplement your diet also. Things like bull kelp, giant kelp, alaria, eel grass, purple laver, and sea lettuce. They can be used to make broths, salads etc. Do be very carfull with mollusks. Spruce tips make a very nice tea.
These kind of videos and scenery - and skiing - remind me why I started my project in a first place. Thank you for making these. Huikeaa! 😍
hes fearless. what an admirable man.
Kiitos näistä videoista Juho. Uskomattomat maisemat ja luonto. Onnenpekka! Ja onpa sinun neuvokkuudesta siellä kantautunut tännekin uutisia. Mitalin olet ansainnut! Safe travels and "hey bear"!
Coming from a Finnish family, the title of the video pulled me straight in. Imagine my surprise/not surprise hearing a vaguely Finnish accent from the dude in the video called “Juho” (very Finnish name) 😂
I’m great full I found your channel even though I’m not into sailing yet you made me fall in love with it, your great personality, cinematography, honesty and your humbleness. Wish you all best and luck where ever the wind takes you my friend and thanks for taking us with you. Hope you get to read my message.
You're amazing Juho and very brave to be venturing into the mountains alone with all the bear around... Thank you for filming and sharing with us all the beautiful scenery and wildlife your seeing there... It's all so spectacular.
Yes but Joho talks loud when he goes into the bear country. I did the same in the northern forest in Sweden. Full with brown bears.
I’m really appreciating the cooking segments
30 days of solitude is a lot. I miss Sohvi already. 😢

You literally have first tracks on that perfect corn👍 Who wouldn't like those conditions for some good turns! It's perfect! It's the the grizzly bear coming out of hibernation that I'd be concerned about. From a 🇫🇮🇨🇦 skier,(that doesn't speak Finnish) cheers, beers, and deep powder👍 Cheers from British Columbia 🇨🇦(stay safe)
Pokers work great to get the mud off and push the anchor around in the water. Also works great to keep the anchor from banging as it comes up over. Cheers from the San Juan Islands!
Gran nit. Thats how you pronounce Granite. Thanks for sharing your Alone time on your boat.
Breathtaking ! I can not imagine a better place to be ! Enjoy and know just how privileged you ae ! All your efforts paid out BRAVO
Your videos are improving in every way; scenic shots and editing of them to provide more views, added music sound, etc. So entertaining to watch. They were never bad, but now they are just wow! I am retired, with almost no income, so I will not be a patron, but if I was able then for sure I would be. Keep going with this please.
Absolutely beautiful..and well made video. Looking forward to seeing whats next. ❤⛵
Absolutely stunning scenery!! When you pull up the net stop mucking about, as soon as you touch the rope pull it up as fast as you can. Try for some halibut fishing too, yum. They get them so big up there that single fishermen shoot them so they don't get knocked off the boat!
What a beautiful place, it's good you're there to help us see some of it vicariously
What an exceptional video series you have created here. This is truly one of the best things on all of youtube right now.
Also looking forward to more shrimp recipes!
The camera man always survives! 😂😊 I loved your skiing technique to turn around!!
I really enjoyed your videography combined with beautiful musical selections. Thank you.
This is exactly the life I love and I have enjoyed on a sail boat : alone, anchorages, fishing, and kayaking for me.
Beautiful scenery. What a fantastic sailing adventure.
Your cinematography is beautiful.
Another amazing video. What a landscape. Your camera work is so nice.
Your adventure is awesome! Thank you for taking me along.
Absolutely fabulous , no really these productions are a work of art , not so many get to go where you go so its a royal treat , Blessings and dosh on its way :-)
⛵👍Really enjoying your channel. The scenery and how you capture it is incredible. Experiencing the Pacific Northwest from your vantage point is amazing. 🍤The shrimp looked yummy.🦐 Bon Appetit. Enjoy. Thanks for sharing.✌⛵
1. The food looks amazing and now I am going to definitely try some soon!
2. At 7:08, that is definitely me rolling out of bed every morning. 😂
Flawless. We feel as if we're there with you....the camera work envelopes so fully. Thank you. Best to you & (there in spirit) Sohvi.
It is absolutely staggering how you pull these masterpieces together. Worthy of sponsorship by National Geographic.
Stunning film.
Hear, Hear!
I totaly agree to that!
Really enjoy this and the passage route you’re taking, look forward to see it all..Thanks!
Another ski hound!! ;)
That's what I'm talking about...making tracks...So nice...so nice.
Another great episode. Thank you.
You are living life! Amazing video!
Thanks!
That was a trip to heaven - pure joy! ♥️
Takk!
Beautiful life you have there bro.
I have never got why more You Tube sailors don’t catch shrimp.
When I get my boat I plan to use three different methods to catch them.
Loved you cooking one on its own in last episode.
We have a similar dish in England but we mix the shrimp with butter!
And it is: ‘gran-it’
OMG moment- I thought when you were calling Karhu, you were cheering on your brand of skis🤣I just googled the meaning. All these years I never knew what it meant. I hope the bears in Alaska understand Finnish.
Beautiful skiing, I was slightly stressed about the bears though.
the rock is pronounced pronounced "gran-it "
You should ask Red Bull for a sponsor, they love that sort of skiing in the raw mountains type of thing.
Hello ,thank you for another great video tour of this part of Alaska from a retired person living in the Maritimes at the NB-NS border
Stunning videography of an envy-inducing adventure!
Extremely cool, sailing+beautiful landscape+solitude+ skiing!!!
Hi, So you were making "Skagenröra" I think but what it is in Finland I have no Idea. It's very yummy. To garnish a traditional Skagenröra sandwich you would of course have the dill as you said, and a bit of roe, like salmon roe would be great, or some whitefish roe. Oh, and a thin slice of lemon too. For the non Scandinavians out there, it's an open face sandwich, just a piece of toast or butter fried toast just like he eats it. The shrimp mayo mix sandwich with the garnish, a "sup" of something very alcoholic and a beer chaser. That is a feast for most Scandies. Yours, Ann
It is quite often called skagen here or just katkarapumössö (shrimp mush). We also eat gubbröra here like you guys do. We don't eat surströmming though it originally was sold to Finns by Swedes who thought these people are crazy for buying this shit. Who's laughing now... :)
@@jonnenne Hi, Thank you for your reply. Most of us don't eat that shit either. His shrimp looked so good though. I was salivating.
I'm from Northern part of Sweden, where the Swedish origin of Surströmming comes from, but I probably couldn't swallow a piece to save my life... Or rather, I would only eat it to save my life. I believe that Gubbröra has been relegated to Julbord for Christmas and some ancient style smörgåsbord (ancient as in: like when I was a young).
Personally I think especially Surströmming, and probably to some extent Gubbröra, was invented to give people an excuse to drink snaps. At least snaps seem be a recurring theme of eating these foods today. And I'm using the word "food" in the loosest sense of the word, at least when it comes to Surströmming.
My sincere apologies for exporting the product from Sweden. I'm pretty sure it wasn't planed as biological warfare against Finland. Unless it was between 1808-1917 and you Finns weren't the target, of course 😉😊. Yours, Ann
Juho, truly amazing skiing. Can't wait for the next episode. The nature, the shrimp kitchen and the exceptional photography keeps us coming back. Thank you so much for sharing your remarkable adventures.
Спасибо за проделаную работу, очень красивые места.
Loving the lifestyle and cooking segments, definitely one to continue! Amazing video footage as always, keep up with the amazing videos
Love Alaska magnificent scenery, thanks for sharing you incredible journey!
The drone and 360 action cam footage of you skiing was incredibly impressive, what a great video!
Solitude is such a tonic.
Great videography - I understand the effort required to capture this amount of material and to do it single handed is really impressive. Unfortunately I'm not in a position to help financially but I hope others are as the content is really entertaining and delightful to view.
How do you get such beautiful camera footage when you are alone. " and skiing.!!" ??
a drone that follows you ?? and keeps you in frame. ? amazing. !!!!
Love the content!!! Really nice seeing parts of Alaska that I’ve never experienced lived here most of my life. Never would’ve thought watching your vids 2years ago that you would’ve ended up where I live.
Seeing the rock fish and shrimp made my mouth start to water. Such beautiful country, thanks for sharing. By the way you would pronounce it GRAN-IT. 😀
This video series is AMAZING. plus your dry sense of humor makes it funny.
Exhilarating and I am concerned about your safety at the same time. I know that you are experienced in health and safety so keep enjoying yourself 💖💖💖🇦🇺
Beautiful as always. You're living my dream. Some day I will be somewhere there enjoying the solitude as well.
Absolutely LOVE the videos and would become a patron but totally cannot spare the money... Hope you'll continue anyway. There's only a few channels I'm really following on youtube and you are one ofvthem and I'm always so looking forward to the next upload!
Thanks a bunch!
16:00 You can feel the joy Juho got from skiing
Beautiful country. Great videography.
Couple more shrimp, you'll have a shrimp cocktail 😂
Where did you guys go? Hope and pray all is well... and that you both are safe!...

Thanks
Wau, there are no words that would be enought! so nice. Thank you!
Gran-it, with emphasis on the first syllable. These areas are really beautiful, you have enough for a shrimp cocktail. 😊
