Lets try to understand how lighting works:
First thing we need to do is placing our light source in our composition. In this drawing, there are three spheres and three light sources for each sphere. Each sphere is being illuminated only by one light. In total, we have three lighting examples on one page:
1) Light is coming from upper right corner
2) Light is coming directly from above
3) Light is coming from upper left corner
When the light hits an object from one direction, the shading is placed on the opposite side of that object. The shadow of an object will also be placed on the opposide side of its light source.
