In a suburb of West Gaza, an orthodox community are outraged by the habits of their secular neighbours. “They walk with cleavage in front of people who need to observe modesty.” Liora and her secular neighbours complain of a recent incident when a Rabbi barged into her house and broke her stereo. The tension peaks at the Western Wall - an unholy battleground where Jew fights Jew. Liberal Jews are pushed back as they try to get to the wall on a religious holiday. The battle goes right to the core of Israel’s identity. Orthodox Jews fight for a marriage of religion and state in a theocracy - they will accept no compromises. Their secular opponents fight for democracy. Can this cultural war come to a peaceful conclusion or are these divisions going to come to a violent head?

There is a lot of power to be gained by manipulating people into accepting your words without ever questioning them.
Conflict can easily arise out of that struggle for power and influence.
With so many different views on God, for sure a lot of people got it wrong, but I can understand if you don't share my view that there is nothing more to mediating between God and men than narcissistic goals achieved through illusions and playing with people's fears and love.
Think of the horror of having such people as neighbours. Telling you how to conduct and dress. Harrassing you and your family while you are working to pay taxes which support them and while your children are in the army protecting them.

After you do prepare for your jaw to drop to think that that could happen in the United States and it took the government stepping in to tell them they couldn't do it anymore.
What made people so upset is they refused to listen when they were being told it was wrong to do that they were just telling people if you don't like it then you should move.

These are the things that upset people we know the Orthodox and Hasidic know not to do these things they understand how offencive it will be but they don't care they just do it anyway. We asked them not to, we tell them not to, we beg them not to but only when we go to court and take it to the utmost limit are they forced to listen and do what's right.
We shouldn't have to take it to that level to get them to listen they should understand that citizen rights come before their religious beliefs.

This is so cruel, I can't imagine seeing this in person, like the story of the girl Naama walking to school with grown men throwing rocks and spitting! I am jewish and I completely agree with you, I was in yeshiva (a religious type of school) and we learned how bad it is to do those things.

I don't perceive, or feel, any gulf. The People of Israel are on a continuum from secular to ultra-Orthodox. It's not like there are two discrete camps. Everyone has someone a little more and a little less religious to their immediate right and left. So, the people at the extremes may not relate directly, but they can extrapolate from people they know.

No. The Jewish Scriptures" are not the Torah. Judaism doesn't really follow the Torah anymore than Christianity does the Messiah. Rather, they both follow the traditions of men. It is the Talmud or Democracy at this point in Israel. If they followed the Torah, as told, they wouldn't be in the position in which they find themselves. The best way to discern and prove the identity of the modern day descendants of the Israelites is through close examination of the Biblical Covenant Promises God made to Israel. Any people group attempting to claim the mantle of Israel would have to fit them all perfectly. No ifs, ands, or buts.
They testify that Israel would be multiplied as the sands of the sea, that Israel would become a multitude of nations and leaders of those nations, that Israel would be CHIEF among the nations, that Israel would be God's ambassadors and witnesses, that Israel would be God's battle axe and weapons of war against Satan's pagan kingdoms, and much more. So who best fits these promises and prophecies? Let's take a look.
Often you hear of Jews and blacks making the claim of being the covenant people, so I will compare them with each promise and prophecy as well, so there will be no doubts.
1) Israel was to become a great nation and a company of great nations.(Genesis 12:2; 18:18, 17:4; 35:11; 48:19) This one couldn't be any more obvious. White Europeans fulfilled the promise given that after 2534 years from Assyrian captivity in 758 BC, the nation of God would be born in a day (1776 adds up to the year!) which was the Christian nation of America. This is one of few prophecies which one can calculate to a precise date. Blacks have never produced a single great nation much less a company of nations. And the Jewish "State of Israel" was only possible with the support of white nations. Who is blessing whom, here? In fact, Jews have actually fulfilled the legacy of Cain in being vagabonds and wanderers (Gen 4:12)
2) Israel to keep the gates and ports of enemies ( Genesis 22:17,Joshua 21:43-45:) This is something ALL white nations have done for 100s of years, and that is to set up military bases and embassies among enemies and potential enemies to keep them in check, whereas this is not done in return to the same degree.
3) Israel were to be seafarers, explorers, and colonizers (Genesis 28:14; 49:13; Numbers 24:7; Deuteronomy 33:19; Judges 5:17; Psalms 2:8; 89:25) Talk about willful denial and willful ignorance. This is one of the historical events they curse at whites for having done, and make no secret that they think European colonialism and exploration was, in thier eyes, evil. Yet its one of the primary prophecies concerning the lost tribes. Then the Jews or blacks will claim to be these lost tribes in the same breath.
4) Israel were to be a blessing to all families (nations) of the earth (Genesis 12:3; 18:18; 28:14; Isaiah 27:6) Make a list of contributions to the world in inovation, inventions, ect. Then, by race, go without thier contributions for a single week. When you get to white Europeans, and have to give up everything from refrigeration to electricity, cars to computers, you will get this one. And thats not even touching on the many roads, hospitals, foriegn aide (which wouldnt even be a thing if not for whites) and so forth whites have contributed to third world nations. If we are going to be honest, one must admit that the white race has done more for other races, then any three races combined. EVEN going so far, as to admit others into our ethnic nations and allowed them votes, authority positions, and even passed laws AGAINST our own peoples interests to help lift up others. Whites participated the least of all races in slavery, and were for a while the first and only ones to fight for its abolishment.
5) Israel were to amass wealth and success as Farmers (Genesis 27:28; Deuteronomy 28:11; Deuteronomy 33:13, 14, 28) This is especially true of American and Canadian white farmers. Blacks were only farmers by force for a time, as the starving masses in Africa can attest to. Jews have always been known through history as bankers and merchants.
6) Israel was to be God's witness and carry the word of God to all the world (Isaiah 43:10-12, 21; 59:21; Matthew 28:19-20).For hundreds of years it was white Europeans who spread Gods word across the Earth, mostly through Bible societies, which printed the word in 100s of languages. And all early missionary work, and even now 95% of missionary work to other countries has been carried forth by the white race.
7) Israel was to be God's "battle-axe" and an undefeatable military power (Numbers 24:8; Jeremiah 51:20-23; Isaiah 54:15-17; Micah 5:8-9). You always hear about how the evil white man conquered this or that. When this is straight from Israelite prophecy that Gods people would be the ones who conquered the heathen and dominated the earth. In Genesis 1:28 God stated that his people would subdue and conquer the heathen. Also, it was whites who stopped Attilla the Hun when no one else could, white Crusaders who stopped the evil spread of Islam, and most other such wars were won by Gods battle ax.
8) The descendants of Israel were to be multiplied exceedingly (Genesis 13:16; 15:5; 17:2; 22:17; 24:60; 26:4; 28:14; 32:12). This promise most assuredly excludes the "Jews" as being God's Chosen People. While the Black race with 1.3 billion people, the Chinese with nearly two billion, and White race with 900 million are all great in number, the Jews at only 18 million are not. When this promise was repeated in the 8th century B.C. (Hosea 1:10) the nation of Israel was already very nearly 18 million. Either God has failed in His promise or today's preachers are liars regarding the Jews. Also, the fossil record shows OTHER races have been around AT LEAST 100,000 years, but whites are a very new race at only 7000 BC or so, so to be up in population with the OTHER older races, fulfills this like no other race could.
9) Israel to be the first among the nations. (Gen. 27:29; 28:13; Jer. 31:7.) The way blacks complain that white nations (or "white supremacy") rules the world, or that America is the leading nation, as was Britian previously, makes this one a bit ironic and kind of funny when you think about it...
10) Israel's new home country to be north-west of the country they were driven from (Israel). Isa. 49:12; Jer. 3:18.) Europe is what you find North west of Israel.
11) Israel to colonize the desolate place of the earth. (Isa. 35:1; 43:19, 20; 49:8; 54:3; 58:11, 12.) Nobody would have ever thought to build great civilizations in places like Alaska, Norway, Siberia, Australia and other "desolate" places that are now part of modern civilization.
12) Israel was to be blind to its identity and be called by a new name and not known as Israel (Isaiah 62:2; 65:15; Hosea 1:9-10; Romans 11:25). God stated he would put his name on Israel (Numbers 6:27) And through the Messiah would be known as "Christians"(Acts 11:26). There are people who worship God as Christians, as there is a literal SEED of Christians. The words seed, heirs, descendants all point to this being about faith + bloodlines or there wouldn't be such emphasis on the word seed throughout scripture... Yes, we are wrestling NOT with flesh and blood, but this doesn't mean flesh and blood isn't part of it. That verse from Ephesians 2:10 is one of the many ways, white Christians have been fooled about their origins. For 2000 years, Christian was a term for white kingdoms and nations, and EVERY white person was called a "Christian" by the rest of the world. Have things improved for the various Jewish traditions at the Wailing Wall? It's heartbreaking to see Orthodox and Ultra-Orthodox Jews fighting against the Conservative and Liberal traditions. I am a Christian and I have a love for the Jewish people, but just recently I have been made aware of the abuses that can happen within these self-isolated Orthodox communities. Disciplines can be harsh and questions can be met with fervent punishment; I have even heard of cases of sexual abuse of minors being hidden and ignored, with no recourse for the victims. I hope these Orthodox communities can accept that other Jews have a right to worship and need a place at the wall, and to be at peace with non-Orthodox Jews dressing in a way that is in accord with their own understanding of Torah and of G-d. I am an outsider, I understand, so I have no say in this conversation, but I pray there is a conversation. It would please G-d if all traditions could have representatives gather around a table and discuss their differences, their similarities and their needs.

These people need each other, perhaps the best they can do is work out a workable solution. Such as a certain form of dress in certain areas, and other areas free to dress as one wants. Along with putting sound absorbing materials in places of worship and in places where there is loud music. That way those who want quiet can have it, and those who want to listen to music can play what they want without disturbing those who want to worship in quiet. There are possible solutions, but it takes people thinking and not just acting out. Orthodox isn't even a thing. It's just Judaism. That's why it reigned supreme over holy matters. It was the reform and conservative who came and decided Torah wasn't so important to be followed. In truth reform judaism is pretty watered down, it doesn’t exemplify the fullness of the religion. Its the conservative & orthodox Jews who keep it going, the reform Jews are actually secular. Having said that I do think Israel needs to bridge this divide to survive.

It's impossible for two different views to co-exist in harmony. Peace is not the absence of conflict. Conflict is part of the nature of the world. This is so glaringly biased. It's clear they never even considered being unbiased. The non orthodox rabbis get to essentially narrate the film. For The orthodox they pick single statements out of lengthy interviews that are selected to make them sound unreasonable. In the opening scene they never explain what the issue is at the western wall. Did you notice that? They give the impression that orthodox jews just won't let non orthodox join them. That's nonsense. Orthodox consider anyone born Jewish to be Jewish. They would welcome non orthodox to join. The issue is that there is a 3000 year old tradition that the men and women pray in separate areas. If the non orthodox would follow that rule (would it hurt them?) Theyd be welcomed with open arms. Very much like if I went into a catholic or protestant church and said "I'm not Christian, but I'd like to join you." They would welcome me, no? But them what if I break the rules and disrupt the service.
They also dont mention that in the Jewish wedding the bride and groom marry each other. The rabbi just certifies that they did it. A (jewish) man and woman could get married by themselves on a desert island. Follow the messengers and reminders (scriptures) that were sent to them.

God Can Smite us all in a blink but Does Not. Why?
Each one's recompense is with God in the hearafter.
All Abrahamic religions have the same message. Yes there are differences in the scriptures but there are valid reasons for that.
So let each of us believe their book, or whichever book appeals to their souls.
If it is the truth and unchanged by man it will work for them and give them peace.
If its not the truth, but they still follow it and gives them peace so be it.
If they want to follow no book, why not let them?
Its not for man to be judge, jury and executioner.
We are all here to be tested which of us are best in conduct within ourselves as Gods Creation and as fellow humans to each other AS WELL and all of His Creations. Animals, earth...everything.
Try to be just and patient and loving to all. No ones rights should be violated. Worshipping God does not include harming others, if it does, its not done correctly.
Why are all faiths bent upon destroying ourselves and each other by our own hands???

@Cathy Miller Nah, I think the world is becoming a better place for most people despite the atrocities across the world. I doubt the Anti-Christ will come about any time soon. There’s always someone saying it’s his time and in much worse times. The world right now is pretty quiet. Most people live in peace and want peace.

Thank you all for your response. For those who deny God Psalm 14 v1 will suffice. God is calling all his people back to the land He promised them. They didn't get on very well in past times and little has changed.
Never the less we should pray for peace in Jerusalem and throughout the land of Israel. That includes ALL the land promised by God. What I saw was Almighty God working with his people. Snever easy.
