We are back making signs from Disneyland park for our home decor. This time creating the Jungle Cruise ride sign by sculpting foam and working with wood. Skipper Chris makes the Disneyland Jungle Cruise ride entrance sign from Adventureland. Jungle Cruise is one of our favorites at Disneyland. Disneyland Resort brings our family so much joy so we decided to start making several items from Disneyland to enjoy at our home. In this Disneyland construction update video we share how we made the famous Jungle Cruise ride entrance signage complete with the head hunter duck with spears and the shield. This maker video comes complete with bad puns from our skipper for your entertainment. We visited Disneyland in Anaheim California to ride Jungle Cruise a few times and take lots of reference pictures from different angles. We got a quick bite at Bengal Barbecue in Adventureland and headed home to start building our own Jungle Cruise ride entrance sign for or house. Originally we the Disney sign was meant for our sons Adventureland themed room but we kind of want to keep it out on the living room wall to give us a little Disneyland joy in our home all the time. The Jungle Cruise sign replica is made pretty close to the real thing but much smaller I use a projected image to draw out the real Disneyland sign onto paper. Then I match the wood construction of the original Adventureland attraction sign. I also painted and aged to sign trying to match the original as close as I could several images online. I carved the ducks head from rigid sculpture foam and hard coated it with polyester resin. The spears and shield were sculpted MDF using a disk sander. All these Disney props were hand painted with the closest colors we had available in our supply. I used raffia grass and a red wig to dress the spears and duck. I also made a couple small old lantern light fixtures that resembled the two flickering lights on the real Jungle Cruise sign. This video is the first of a new series we are planning on doing every so often where we make signs and props we see around Disneyland Theme Park. Be sure and give us a like and sub if your interested in seeing more.

And i thought the skull piece was awesome. I have been a sign designer for 15 years and this is a fantastic job, Chris. I'm amazed, awed and proud of the art you and your wife create. Your eye for detail is astounding and your patience for creating is inspiring. I've built signs for the theme park industry for years... and the patience involved is so intense, yet so satisfying when the job is complete. This is such a great job on this sign. I know that someday down the road when your child (childrennnnnn????) grows up he will be saying how talented his parents are. As it is you all have created a legacy of work and it is the dedication that has kept me watching all these years. Great video. Pardon my gushing, but I finally had to just come out and brag about you two. Oh, and your jokes? They quack me up!

Thank you Scott that's really kind of you. I sort of rushed through the painting portion which I could have done a little cleaner on the lettering but it is hard for me to just walk away take a beeak and come back. I start to feel the impatient feeling of just wanting to be done. Its hard especially when I want to get a video out.
