I met this guy at his own dojo with his wife and what this man says about his fans is 100% true. He LOVES his fans! This man is as real as it gets! I was very surprised when I met him how nice he was and even when see says "be sure to come back and visit sometime man!".
Andre The Black Nerd - much respect & props for interviewing this legend. It has been a sad week. JDF's passing hit me & my friends hard. We grew up watching him on Power Rangers. He inspired a whole generation to do Martial Arts & to build self-confidence. He was such a humble soul. It hurts deep that he is no longer with us. Thank you for doing this interview. It is something that you will always cherish & hold close to your heart. RIP JDF the legend
Same absolute same. I feel like my childhood was ripped away when he passed. He was such a beautiful and humble man that I regret not being able to meet in person. I miss him terribly. We will never forget you, JDF🥀🕊
What an awesome guy. Not enough celebrities remember what's really important but he does. And I really do think he'd do that reunion for free, which wouldn't happen, but he totally would. :)
This is like, literally the best thing ever. This dude was my hero back in the day with MMPR, and the fact that he's totally chill out and super down to earth? Seriously amazing to see that he's just as awesome in real life as he was on the screen.
Seeing Jason Frank again takes me back to when i was in Preschool. My teachers wouldn't let my friends and I watch it when we had our little tv time. But everyday during playtime we would fake fight, and make up our own Mighty Morphing Power Rangers situations. Ahhhh, the good old days.
Most hardcore is, Jason started TEACHING other kids karate when he was twelve, bought the karate school he learned in at 18, is an award-winning mixed martial artist, and is inducted into the World Karate Union Hall of Fame. He's like a real-life Power Ranger, and I'm PROUD to have grown up with him! If he comes to a local con, then I'm SO there.
I saw JDF at WizCon last year in Louisville. We went to see matt smith, and afterwards I turned and saw some guy in a green shirt running along, giving people highfives, and I noticed, "its the green ranger!"
It is inspiring to see someone so passionate about his work and his fans for 20 years. Makes you want to find that thing in life that 20 years from now, you'd love doing as much as the first day.
The way he puts it, to be passionate to ones work is inspiring. Not only he's one of my favorite male rangers but also one of those people you would be proud to call the hero.
Every time I see or read a post about JDF it just makes me smile. I was fortunate enough to actually meet him in person and I swear I turned into my 3 year old self all over again. He is truly embodied the character of Tommy and it shows in interviews, podcasts and everything he does. He wants to leave that good lasting impression on you and he succeeds at it. I'm proud to call this guy my idol and that he didn't "fall off" like other celebrities do. Great interview Andre.
I remember 2 years ago after wizardcon in mn. dude was finished just shopping in the mall I could tell he was tired so I didn't try and bother him but I walked past him and I just wanted to say hi. but he insisted on getting a couple photos and answering questions. he's a great guy
He's so down to Earth and humble. I met him at an anime con and he took a picture with me without me having to wait in line and stuff. He's really cool! He should think about going into voice overs, too...I'm just now really noticing how great his voice sounds.
Am I the only one that loved him as the Zeo red and Turbo red? but still favorite hands down is the Green because I grew up having the dragon dagger. Wish I still had it hahah
Steve Rouse Zeo Ranger Five Red powers are the strongest in the entire series. So you're not the only one. His Green Ranger was simply just too awesome to lose I just wish he still had his Sword of Darkness tho, it looked so good on him.
@@blackgamerguy17 Yes they are. The Zeo crystals powers get stronger with age. It's been more than 20 years since Zeo aired and back then they were already stronger than all their previous incarnations.
@@BurnRoddy Nah. The turbo powers were specifically stated to be superior to them. They also lack speed feats like in dino thunder or ninja storm. All in and all they arent that impressive tbh. Saying they get power with age without knowing the specific amount increased is pointless.
He was one of the Power Rangers on my TV when I was watching it as a kid. He doesn't even look that different - and darn it Andre you're making me all nostalgic.
Thanks BLN for this interview. This guy is definitely my childhood hero and to know the he truly cares about his fans and has an urge to sign for them is awesome.
My fav tommy ranger is red turbo only because I grew up with him I saw Dino thunder it was kinda ironic how the white ranger when he was evil was so much like the evil green mighty morphin ranger
tommy is my favorite ranger and my hero despite all the rangers tommy is and always will be the real power ranger because he's a hero and passionate about it and Love him for that like said a real power ranger and a hero
Seriously, this has got to be the best interview you've done with a Power Ranger Andre. At first, I was skeptic about Jason David Frank, his answers just seemed so much like they couldn't be true. But over and over he shows that he is all about the fans and he loves the whole experience so much. This is the best thing about being alive, doing what you love and finding people who do the same. Great job and mad props to JDF.
Andre "Black Nerd", AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWESOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOME GO GO JASON DAVID FRANK GO GO Andre "Black Nerd" GO GO POWER RANGERS
Black Dino Ranger, the Dino rangers were and are my favorite, I use to wake super early to watch it, and I went as the black range for holloween, made a black ranger ake for my B day, and had a black ranger MC character. I love the black ranger No homo
Got some happy goose bumps just watching this. Saw the thumbnail of this vid,and was like :O Jason David Frank??? Nooooo Waaaay!! Thanks for being so aweswome Andre. This brought happy tears to my eyes, and my fave color is GREEN :D
So awesome watching Andre get to interview JDF. I have met JDF 3 times and each time hes so genuine and amazing. And hes a great dad! Def someone to look up to!
michael09871 nah I watched mighty morphin and saw both incarnations in action, I just like him as black ranger more because that's how I first experienced him
My mom got to meet Jason David Frank yesterday at Cleveland Comic Con. She told it was the happiest day of her life. She's still talking to me about it today
emmie796 she didn't take u I would be pissed like really u met the green ranger and u didn't take me seriously don't talk to me and the minute I say don't talk to me my mom would off beat my ass but it was worth getting the anger out
White ranger is the best Tommy ranger. The zeo, turbo, and dino costumes just weren't as cool as his MMPR suits and between green and white, white was the more powerful and I think had the superior cool factor.
I know a ton of people will disagree with me and I've watched every episode of mmpr but when my dad introduced me to power rangers was when I watched the season 2 episode of mmpr: white light part 1 so my fav by far is white ranger but who ever says the red turbo, red zeo,or black Dino thunder ranger versions of tommy are the best their just dumb mmpr all the way
I remember first seeing the green ranger summoning the dragon zord, so I would go nuts for the chance to talk to JDF. He is immortal now by the love of his fans and I think thats what causes him to be as happy as he is. Jason, don't ever change.
In my PR reboot movie trilogy, I had in mind to cast Jason David Frank in a cameo role to play the coach of a Kickboxing team at Angel Grove High, that Zach is the captain of and Jason joins when arrives at Angel Grove, California and attends Angel Grove High. In my version, Jason and Zach start off as rivals but become friends towards the end of the first movie. Jason would also be originally from Bronx, New York when he gets in trouble with the law and is forced by his mother to live with his aunt and uncle out in Angel Grove, California, a fictional suburb of Los Angeles. The two even have a fight scene in the middle of the movie, when Kimberly is injured during a battle against Zedd and Rita's troops, and back at the Ranger hideout, Zach angrily blames Jason for the incident which leads to a intense brawl between the two. My version will be a lot darker and grittier than the original series yet pays much homage and stays true to the original series. The only changes would be that the Rangers will be strangers at first with different backgrounds, each of them would be born with a specific mark or symbol on either their forearm or shoulder and with a special power, which is stated in a ancient prophecy that the chosen ones who are to revive the Power Rangers and save the galaxy would bear a mark and be blessed with a special ability, the putty patrollers will be switch to Terminator-like killer cyborgs and humanoid savage creatures, and I'm not sure if I would include Bug and Skull in my version, however, the actors who played Bug and Skull in the series would have cameos as goofy security guards at a mall in Downtown, L.A. I would also want the Ranger suits to look and operate similar to the Iron Man armors and the megazords to look and operate similar to the Autobots/Decepticons from the Transformers movie series and the monsters to look as epic as the monsters from Godzilla (2014 film).
💚🩶❤🖤 Whether as ranger or a teacher, I can't thank this man enough for not only entertaining but inspiring myself and many others around the world. Rest in Power, Mr. Frank
First, let me say, I LOVE YOU BLACK NERD! :) You're videos have given me hours of enjoyment, so thank you for that. Secondly, JDF RULES!! One of the most humble, kind and appreciative people I have had the pleasure of meeting, and it's nice to see that he's still the charismatic and just plain nice man to this day. Great interview! Great vids! Keep of the great work, and the great camera holding! :)
Jason David Frank is such an amazing guy. I can't believe I missed out on meeting him when he was so close to me. Hopefully someday soon I can meet him.
I remember watching prmm on video tapes and then after Dino thunder came out and saw Jason back as tommy as the black ranger god I was hella amazed how awesome he was the nostalgia
It's amazing that after all these years he still has the same passion for his fans, even though Power Rangers is what he will always be most known for...so humble and genuine. I still have the very 1st episode he appeared in on VHS featuring interviews from the original cast. He was awesome then and is awesome now!
as a child, there wasn't a whole lot that truly excited me, but every time the green ranger would call his dragonzord, it was like history was being written. There was no power greater than the sheer awesomeness of the green ranger. He was formed by evil, but broke free from its power to become both the hero we needed AND the hero we deserved.
Really sad to hear that Jason David Frank sadly passed away today age 49. He was my childhood hero. May the power protect him forever. R.I.P Jason David Frank. 😔
RIP MR FRANK YOU WILL STAY WITH US ALWAYS
I'm sobbing right now. RIP JDF!! 💚
Ikr tell me about it💔

I love his humility and that's why he is my favorite!
Truly humble for him to wear a long sleeved shirt that day. His biceps would have made Andre look worse by comparison.
Gotta love this guy!!!

Nappa's influence is Tommy..... man that's mind blowing
SSJ Nappa That one audio clip of his evil laugh that was used over...and over...and over lol
Jason David Frank is a God among Power Rangers fans. And one of the most grounded, caring, baddest modo to ever exist!

Tommy confirmed as a vampire.
Met this dude like 3 years in a row and every year he's loving it. My favorite Ranger since childhood.
What an awesome guy. Not enough celebrities remember what's really important but he does.
And I really do think he'd do that reunion for free, which wouldn't happen, but he totally would. :)
All of them! WE ARE LOVE YOU
This is like, literally the best thing ever.
This dude was my hero back in the day with MMPR, and the fact that he's totally chill out and super down to earth? Seriously amazing to see that he's just as awesome in real life as he was on the screen.

E. Black Dino ranger! 100%😃
Jason David frank was my favorite ranger as the green ranger. It's nice to see he's really down to earth. It's nice to see he's there for the fans
What a legend.
R.I.P just re-watching this. great video.
I love him. He's completely honest and real. No sugar coding. Literally someone you can just enjoy talking or listening to
Jason David Frank. The man, the myth, the legend, and the most humble and famous Power Ranger.
Most hardcore is, Jason started TEACHING other kids karate when he was twelve, bought the karate school he learned in at 18, is an award-winning mixed martial artist, and is inducted into the World Karate Union Hall of Fame. he knows Matt Smith!?
It is inspiring to see someone so passionate about his work and his fans for 20 years. Makes you want to find that thing in life that 20 years from now, you'd love doing as much as the first day.
And that is why Jason David Frank is best power ranger.
yep
His Name Is Tommy Oliver (doctor Tommy Oliver for you)
I love how dedicated he is. True passion
I grew up with Dino Thunder, and Tommy was my favorite ranger. If I ever get to meet him in real life, my brain would melt from nostalgia overload.
wow, he even stud out in DT even though you didn't grow up with mmpr? That says alot about JDF
J Smooth Soul Beats Yeah. The guy is awesome on screen and off.
The way he puts it, to be passionate to ones work is inspiring. Not only he's one of my favorite male rangers but also one of those people you would be proud to call the hero.

It's not every day you meet a famous actor/VA at a con that actually enjoys being around his fans. He seems to really enjoy being there!
