As a kid I wasn't a Green Ranger fan because the Red one was my favorite, but he was cool. And nowadays, as an adult, I just respect the human being and feel sorry for the loss of his family. May he rest in peace! Seeing his attitude here just show how down to earth he was, taking notes to properly speak. Just a nice guy. And he even spoke about what was his end...this interview is just Gold and Historic.
He enjoyed this conversation so much that he didn't want it to end. Everytime you almost wrapped things up he kept talking, I dont think he wanted it to end because he found it therapeutic. I've met JDF several times and watched a lot of his interviews over the years. This interview was the most enjoyable to watch. It was apparent JDF had a lot on his mind and you did an excellent job allowing him the latitude to speak freely in a non-judgmental environment. Keep up the great work!
I’m still speechless and skeptical he would choose that path after being so passionate about mental health. What stands out is that anecdote at 22:10 apart from 1:05:00. Very eerie. I hope he found peace now. He made many lives so much better from the work and values he carried out in life. I’m grateful I met him at NY Comic Con not too long ago. He really left an amazing legacy. I was left in shock upon casually finding out the news in transit to Anime NYC as Johnny Y. Bosch abruptly left the convention that morning (in relation). We were gutted and so down when his passing was confirmed that morning. I don’t think I will ever understand why. JDF went too soon. He had so much more to live for!
He needed help as much as anyone else, he found healing in helping others dealing with the same, and he wanted to normalize the discussion both in talks and in art. Can only imagine how Johnny felt in the middle of a convention.
This is definitely a clear sign that even the most wise and experienced people can still be struggling with mental health more than you could ever perceive. His voice carried FAR and this is such a strong interview, just hits so damn hard... We lost one of the best.

Thank you so much for this. I needed this today. I miss JDF a lot. I had the pleasure of meeting him so many times, and he was always the nicest, most down to earth people that I have ever met. Mental health is something I've fought with all my life. I'll be 43 this year, and my mental health issues will never go away, but I find things to do with my time to take my mind away from it.
It hurts me when Stan Lee and Kevin Conroy passed away, but this one hurts me the most because he's my childhood hero, my favourite Power Ranger, my favourite Sixth Ranger, and i still miss him to this day. I can't get over it, i wanted to meet him and, like everyone else, i thought that i had plenty of time for that because we never expect something like this to happen. I hope he looks after all of us, he loved us, every one us, even if he didn't met us all, we were his kids. Thanks for the video. Big hug.
Well the difference between Sten Lee, and Jason David Frank is Stan Lee had a long life, and died at old age. I’m not sad he died. I’m happy he lived a long life. When people get at that age they get tired. Yeah it’s sad he’s no longer around, but it will happen sooner or later, and I’m happy for him, but with Jason David Frank he had many years in him, and had so much potential. So I’m more upset with Jason then I am with Stan Lee

I can't wait to see Legend of the White Dragon! He was an inspiration for a generation of kids like me. As a fellow warrior, I joined the military after Sept 11, '01. Now a Veteran, I've been dealing with my mental health issues. JDF hits so many points on depression and anxiety and the way things are in society, which is affecting everyone in it. @@ChrisHillASMR I have no clue. I just know in my heart that he wouldn't have done that to himself. There is 101 different things that could be the truth behind what actually happened. Only JDF knows. I feel they still need to investigate it.
A lot of the time people like him will tell people the opposite of what’s in their head to try and motivate and help people. You do it to try and stop anyone else from becoming the pain and darkness that you have become. When your mind is screaming at you like a it’s in an asylum trying to escape , you don’t want anyone else to be like that. You motivate people because you can’t help yourself.

Yea I think it was mostly where he was at the time, that’s why he told him to let’s do this interview right away asap without eating first. His White Dragon film supposedly deals with these topics too according to the director, it seems to have been his biggest priority/passion and also a gateway into better method acting for him.
I've been having a hard time with his passing lately and I can say this was the best interview I've seen with him. He really opened up as much as he could in a public forum and that was only possible because of you and how you made him feel. I wish I could go back in time and talk to him and say please find another way. He indirectly told us all in this interview everything he was going through. Ugh, you are so missed my dude...

So this kinda popped up on my feed a few hours ago and I am glad that he decided to sit down and talk to you. I'm still sadden by his passing and it was more of a punch due to losing my aunt two months before. JDF is one of a kind. Think about him very often. The connection he had with anyone who has had the fortune to be around him was magnetic and he resonated at a special wavelength. If you were ever at any of the conventions or the meet and greets, he transmitted such great positive energy and always was able to chat it up person to person. JDF put so much sacrifice on making himself accesible to his fans. Met him numerous times and I can sum him up in 2 words Genuine Hero. Thank you for approaching Jason and asking him for this talk. This was an amazing, deep interview. Thank you for sharing. It was heartbreaking to hear him say that he would rather die fighting on his knees than to just give up & die. The pain we experience can be so much sometimes. Hope we all take a minute each week as busy as we are to help even in a small way like a word of encouragement to someone. Please share this interview as much as you can. It was an example of Mr. Frank at his finest offering insight, inspiration and kindness.

CJ, I want to say thank you for sharing this video on RUclips for everyone to enjoy, and to listen about the mental health issues that JDF was going through. I was not able to watch your entire interview, but I know that I will someday, but I am glad that the topic of "mental health" has been brought up by him, and by so many other people on social media and online as a whole about how important our mental health is. We need to continue to spread awareness of mental health to lots of other people that we might come across in our journeys. I know that at times it is difficult for me to talk about my mental health issues as well, but it is not a problem to me anymore. What I find difficult is being able to help someone who is in need of help. Yes, the only thing that we can do is talk to them, but if they are going through some sort of crisis in their life, and they live so far away, it can be difficult to contact them and talk about what their issues are. I think that we all need to be more aware of people's struggles, and if we see someone who might be dealing with mental health issues, even from RUclips videos, we need to reach out to them and ask if they are doing okay, and ask if there is anything that we can do for them.
Thank you for sharing this truly amazing interview. It may be an hour and a half long but it flies by because it's so in depth and inspirational. You can tell there was a lot that he needed to speak about and even there he was still giving us stuff. Dropping million dollar gems with each thing he said. Thank you JDF. I feel like finally Jason took his mask off and if you can tell you can see the thinking already is going towards suicide and what not...like it eerily adds up. But on the POSITIVE end Jason gave the i dont care bout being the tough guy. He was him without the mask. i think he was seemingy rather lonely its funny people can be lonely and be surrounded by thousands and i feel us fans were there for him. He as us sees us fans as his second or immediate family. It was a special connection with JDF in my eyes. He was " one of us" and i feel this was a cry for help from him. Listening to this interview, I tend to get the feeling that Jason David Frank was battling his own monsters within him for a long time. Not only him being the Green/White Ranger helped other people in their lives but I felt that maybe that was one way he was also helping to save his own life during that time too. Sadly like the Green Candle, it was bound to be burnt out, it just became tragic.

I was so glad to have met him when he was hitting up comic shops during covid. And it was San Antonio as well. My daughter did not know who he was but he still was so nice to her. I just feel that there is way more to all this. I truly don’t think he took his own life. But in the end we will never what happened in that room

@CJRobles Thanks a lot for uploading this interview which was done just mere weeks before his untimely and tragic passing. Like yourself, I grew up watching Power Rangers including the original iteration of MMPR. Jason David Frank and Austin Saint John were two of my favorites and I idolized them. I remember dressing back in the 90s as a little boy as the White Power Ranger for Halloween. He had so much to live for, had a charmed life, and was a veritable inspiration. He was a classy and decent person who strived to make other people's lives better. I still haven't come to terms with his death. I wish I could have been there for him last month on 11/19/22 and done something to save his life in his time of despair, despondency, anxiety, and suffering. I think if he had one good friend with him on that day to give him support he would still be with us today. I hope that both Jason David Frank and Thuy Trang are in a much better place🙏🙏. It's sad how the most honorable people leave this world far too soon. I still can't believe what transpired just a month ago.
I can see your nervous in the interview, Def how it is around him lol. That's a legend there man. He started taking a lot of advice from other celebs in the end that was his hero. He was struggling, but Tammy put him over the edge, he held out for the longest though.

Mental health is complicated. You can tell he's stressed. Something to remember the passion he has about what he's talking about is because it's important to him . Ask yourself why. Suicide is a moment in time. A choice you can't take back. Everyone wants to believe it was an explosion that caused it but what if it was a quiet moment. The thing I've taken from Jason is his strength and love for the world he wanted to leave a legacy and he did.

CJ, this interview you conducted was an overwhelming combination of heartbreaking yet inspiring. Heartbreaking because Jason David Frank's passing is beyond unfair and cruel! I did not want to believe it at first because I thought it was a hoax and that my hardened skepticism overruled my better judgment. However, as more legitimate sources flourished, I was upset, saddened, shocked, and morose. Inspiring because it was through Jason David Frank that I learned to appreciate Tommy's journey as a Power Ranger on a more profound level. Furthermore, it is through martial artists like Jason David Frank that I found beauty, strength, courage, and determination in the martial arts.
Weeks later he took his life, he sounds so tired in his voice, his breathing was labored he’s literally hyperventilating at times you can tell. His blood pressure was probably through the roof…❤❤❤

Well the difference between Sten Lee, and Jason David Frank is Stan Lee had a long life, and died at old age. I’m not sad he died. I’m happy he lived a long life. When people get at that age they get tired. Yeah it’s sad he’s no longer around, but it will happen sooner or later, and I’m happy for him, but with Jason David Frank he had many years in him, and had so much potential. So I’m more upset with Jason then I am with Stan Lee

I can't wait to see Legend of the White Dragon! He was an inspiration for a generation of kids like me. As a fellow warrior, I joined the military after Sept 11, '01. Now a Veteran, I've been dealing with my mental health issues. JDF hits so many points on depression and anxiety and the way things are in society, which is affecting everyone in it. We will continue to fight that good fight. He is missed. Rest in Power and Peace, Jason David Frank!

@@ChrisHillASMR I have no clue. I just know in my heart that he wouldn't have done that to himself. There is 101 different things that could be the truth behind what actually happened. Only JDF knows. I feel they still need to investigate it.
A lot of the time people like him will tell people the opposite of what’s in their head to try and motivate and help people. You do it to try and stop anyone else from becoming the pain and darkness that you have become. When your mind is screaming at you like a it’s in an asylum trying to escape , you don’t want anyone else to be like that. You motivate people because you can’t help yourself.
Losing his daughter could’ve been the breaking point. Depression is an illness. It’s only hard for you to understand cause you weren’t in his head.
This is so sad - JDF was an advocate for mental health yet he suffered and this devoured him toward the end. Such a kind man with so much talented.

JDF is so raw, so real, and so human in this interview-moreso than in any other one I've seen him give over the last 29 years. That speaks to your talents as an interviewer and as a genuine fan of his work, and where he was mentally and emotionally at that time, where he felt comfortable sharing things with the fanbase that he might not have only a few years ago. This man was a childhood hero to millions of us, and having this profound look into his head and heart at this one particular moment in time is priceless, poignant, and timely. Again, thank you. Yea I think it was mostly where he was at the time, that’s why he told him to let’s do this interview right away asap without eating first. His White Dragon film supposedly deals with these topics too according to the director, it seems to have been his biggest priority/passion and also a gateway into better method acting for him.
I've been having a hard time with his passing lately and I can say this was the best interview I've seen with him. He really opened up as much as he could in a public forum and that was only possible because of you and how you made him feel. I wish I could go back in time and talk to him and say please find another way. He indirectly told us all in this interview everything he was going through. Ugh, you are so missed my dude...

JDF is one of a kind. Think about him very often. The connection he had with anyone who has had the fortune to be around him was magnetic and he resonated at a special wavelength. If you were ever at any of the conventions or the meet and greets, he transmitted such great positive energy and always was able to chat it up person to person. JDF put so much sacrifice on making himself accesible to his fans. Met him numerous times and I can sum him up in 2 words Genuine Hero. Thank you for approaching Jason and asking him for this talk. This was an amazing, deep interview. Thank you for sharing. It was heartbreaking to hear him say that he would rather die fighting on his knees than to just give up & die. The pain we experience can be so much sometimes. Hope we all take a minute each week as busy as we are to help even in a small way like a word of encouragement to someone. CJ, I want to say thank you for sharing this video on RUclips for everyone to enjoy, and to listen about the mental health issues that JDF was going through. I was not able to watch your entire interview, but I know that I will someday, but I am glad that the topic of "mental health" has been brought up by him, and by so many other people on social media and online as a whole about how important our mental health is. We need to continue to spread awareness of mental health to lots of other people that we might come across in our journeys. I know that at times it is difficult for me to talk about my mental health issues as well, but it is not a problem to me anymore. What I find difficult is being able to help someone who is in need of help. Yes, the only thing that we can do is talk to them, but if they are going through some sort of crisis in their life, and they live so far away, it can be difficult to contact them and talk about what their issues are. I think that we all need to be more aware of people's struggles, and if we see someone who might be dealing with mental health issues, even from RUclips videos, we need to reach out to them and ask if they are doing okay, and ask if there is anything that we can do for them.
Thank you for sharing this truly amazing interview. It may be an hour and a half long but it flies by because it's so in depth and inspirational. You can tell there was a lot that he needed to speak about and even there he was still giving us stuff. Dropping million dollar gems with each thing he said. Thank you JDF.

I feel like finally Jason took his mask off and if you can tell you can see the thinking already is going towards suicide and what not...like it eerily adds up. But on the POSITIVE end Jason gave the i dont care bout being the tough guy. He was him without the mask. i think he was seemingy rather lonely its funny people can be lonely and be surrounded by thousands and i feel us fans were there for him. He as us sees us fans as his second or immediate family. It was a special connection with JDF in my eyes. He was " one of us" and i feel this was a cry for help from him. Listening to this interview, I tend to get the feeling that Jason David Frank was battling his own monsters within him for a long time.
Not only him being the Green/White Ranger helped other people in their lives but I felt that maybe that was one way he was also helping to save his own life during that time too.
Sadly like the Green Candle, it was bound to be burnt out, it just became tragic.

I was so glad to have met him when he was hitting up comic shops during covid. And it was San Antonio as well. My daughter did not know who he was but he still was so nice to her. I just feel that there is way more to all this. I truly don’t think he took his own life. But in the end we will never what happened in that room

@CJRobles Thanks a lot for uploading this interview which was done just mere weeks before his untimely and tragic passing. Like yourself, I grew up watching Power Rangers including the original iteration of MMPR. Jason David Frank and Austin Saint John were two of my favorites and I idolized them. I remember dressing back in the 90s as a little boy as the White Power Ranger for Halloween. He had so much to live for, had a charmed life, and was a veritable inspiration. He was a classy and decent person who strived to make other people's lives better. I still haven't come to terms with his death. I wish I could have been there for him last month on 11/19/22 and done something to save his life in his time of despair, despondency, anxiety, and suffering. I think if he had one good friend with him on that day to give him support he would still be with us today. I hope that both Jason David Frank and Thuy Trang are in a much better place🙏🙏. It's sad how the most honorable people leave this world far too soon. I still can't believe what transpired just a month ago.

Mental health is complicated. You can tell he's stressed. Something to remember the passion he has about what he's talking about is because it's important to him . Ask yourself why. Suicide is a moment in time. A choice you can't take back. Everyone wants to believe it was an explosion that caused it but what if it was a quiet moment. The thing I've taken from Jason is his strength and love for the world he wanted to leave a legacy and he did.

CJ, this interview you conducted was an overwhelming combination of heartbreaking yet inspiring. Heartbreaking because Jason David Frank's passing is beyond unfair and cruel! I did not want to believe it at first because I thought it was a hoax and that my hardened skepticism overruled my better judgment. However, as more legitimate sources flourished, I was upset, saddened, shocked, and morose. Inspiring because it was through Jason David Frank that I learned to appreciate Tommy's journey as a Power Ranger on a more profound level. Furthermore, it is through martial artists like Jason David Frank that I found beauty, strength, courage, and determination in the martial arts.
