- This is a short film I made two years ago now! Crazy how much time flies. This was one of my second year uni projects. It was one of the first animations I had done, before this one they were all really short exercises which (if I’m being honest) I didn’t put much energy or thought into them.
My second year I decided to start trying harder, and this was the first product of it which is why I hold this animation close to my heart, despite it not being the best animation wise especially when compared to my latest posts. This version of it is quite different from the original as I re-edited it.
This is an animation of an artist getting lost in her painting as she gets lost in thought in the process of her painting.
This was very much inspired by blue period! I had just finished watching blue period and it made me miss painting, but I also wanted to create something that showed how art can feel but also how much time artists spends!
Hope some can relate to this very much tired artist!

this reminds me of being a kid when art wasn't about being "good", it was about just drawing what made me happy. it can be so difficult sometimes, the pressure to preform well. its hard, but ive been consciously trying to balance my personal joy with my personal development.

This is extremely beautiful and very relatable. After 10 years of severe depression, anxiety, trauma and undiagnosed ADHD, I am finally trying to get back my love for art. It’s been really difficult as most days I feel like a fraud or that I am not good enough for my age, but I am trying. Beautiful work💜💙
What a beautiful way to show what artists see and feel while drawing. This is also super relatable to writers, musicians, filmmakers, animators and everyone who creates a new world from scratch by just using their imagination. With our imagination we can make new realities and share our thoughts with everyone else. Art is one of the biggest inventions of humankind and it is one of the biggest reasons why we still exist and continue to strive to be better, kinder and happier.

Every time I hear the silent voice soundtrack I tear up. This is so pretty as so relatable. You captured the “zone” so well and this nostalgic soundtrack added to the significance of it for me. This is wonderful.

I’m sorry, but I don’t understand the story. Can someone please explain it to me?
I think it’s about the beginning process of healing after having dealt with the downfall of growing up gifted. A common outcome from that is developing a mental illness and we can see that she was diagnosed with something at 0:42. She is now trying to rebuild her creative skills by allowing herself to study art and paint freely. the beginning struggles to do so can be seen with the canvases with X signs on them and how her empty and dark mind are starting to be filled with flowers stars and a cozy house (her creation). I can only assume that the mom was the cause of her mental health’s deterioration as her messages disturbed the girl’s thought process. This is my take, and would like to know about others opinions as well though!
The way I see it, It's like an artist who is thought to be "gifted" goes into a flow state while focusing on her work and exploring her thoughts and emotions in that flow state. She stays there for so long that she couldn't keep track of time..notice how it starts in the day and ends during evening. It's untill when she's suddenly "awakened" to reality by that sound of notification bell from her phone, she was in deep...deep trans like state
The storytelling, the lighting the, colors are just beautiful. These kinds of animations always catch our attention, and we’ve featured stories with this level of storytelling, and it’s always exciting to see new ones like yours.

I had always dreamed about such thing happening , every night when I wanted to go to sleep as a child I wished I could turn my drawings into reality, so i could draw a big beautiful house for my grandma (rest in peace) to live in it so she didn’t have to pay for expensive rent and stuff, even though my dream never came true, and she’s not here in this world anymore, this amazing short film made me remember my childhood and memories and all the beautiful wishes I used to have in my little heart 💔 I appreciate your art. Artists are really gifted and that gift is that they are able to gift dreams and even sometimes reality to the others.
