If so, was it an accident or maybe somebody broke up with him and he's going a through a dark time, point is we don't know. Absolutely love that, from my interpretation of this, you've taken the horror of existential dread, loss and trauma and anxieties, and all the fear the human mind can conjure up without requiring any assistance and given them physical form in this film and showed us this lovely and terrifying mindscape as someone works through their fears and learns to let go.
Stuff that i noticed: There is a lot of cool info on the chapter cards. We have a map and title wich are the most obvious but we also have a monster that MC encounters, closed eye that opens for the last chapter (i assume that it tells us if MC is awake {open} or dreaming {closed}), big circle on right that fills with lines (eliminated monsters) and small face wich i think is emotional state of MC.
I love this, I can tell some of it's meaning, but it leaves so so so much room for interpretation while still managing to be compelling. It uses muted colors yet remains visually interesting and full of character, and the character/monster designs are excellent. 5/5, very very well done
At 11:23 I believe that jar is referred to Pandora’s Jar or Pandora’s Box. The Box/Jar released all of the evil in the world, but there was one thing still in the jar, Hope.
The confronting of hellish horrors, phobias, and unstoppable forces like time itself is super cool! I'm absolutely in love with this animation in terms of sound design, backgrounds, characters, monsters, and really everything! Hope to see more from you in the future!
Hell nah. I haven’t had power in 7 days, am alone in my dark ass room with my windows open so I can survive without ac, trying to go to bed, and now I’m invested in the plot of this and have to watch through it??
I find it hard to describe how much I love this short film, but if I had to, I would say that the animation and creativity is amazing, and that I immediately loved the idea this story has. Where you kill your inner monsters and become a monster yourself. I also love the characters in this, especially the girl who controls the security of Six Guys. 10/10 overall.
This short film makes me have a deja vu, like it feels like I've seen this before in the 2015 when recent unique short films and animations keep appearing in my recommendation
It's so amazing how this film is structured! I adore the cinematography, and choice of camera shots, the pacing everything! The tone gave this self aware and yet complicit sense of terror, and while it shows that he's going deeper and deeper into his own mind, the horror comes in having to face these creatures at their worst. The way he confronts them is nonchalant, but in a way where he's baring through the progressed panic. This film is so beautifully done, and it depicts the sense of these emotions preying onto a person more and more. I feel like just starting out with an invasive thought, which would be Nicole, is so brilliant. That's how a mental crisis starts.
This is INSANELY well mad man, I always love finding smaller horror animations that are just like hidden gems on the platform. The animation has a very nice specific style to it and the horror is on point, scary enough to be considered unnerving but not so scary that it makes you want to stop watching. Also I love a good protagonist that fights back against the eldritch horrors surrounding them.
Not even done watching the video yet but I'm IMPRESSED. So much hardwork and creativity to make this masterpiece. I really love it man, keep up the great work!
Kept me on my toes the entire time, very well done! I also love the progress of how much your animation developed throughout the entire film. Hella rad
This is one of the most incredible things I've seen this year. The fact that you're not much older than me either and it took JUST over 10 months for what is mostly a solo project... I'm unimaginably impressed. Safe to say that your example is already pushing me to become a better animator. Thank you for this.
This is a marvelous animation! Loved it very much - I like these kind of plots, which have a great room for interpretation. Let me leave mine here. It all starts with him hiding from the troubles watching them from distance, but the time comes to fight them. It is said that now's the time to get into the mind of the character. Repression stands close to consciousness - a first hint. We can also see pasteboard monsters on the back - as if his minds wants to warn him. His trip through consciousness starts from the bottom and claustrophobia - fear of closed places. Closed here - hidden. The hidden fear pursuits him, yet he finally manages to overcome it. During the trip to vent maintenance many pictures follow him - fears, twins at the start of the trip. What is important - none of them have eyes. But all of them bleed in a certain way. The computer in the elevator is his first step. He needs a map of his mind to know exactly what to do. But as we see later on, it doesn't help much during the escape. Yet he manages to fight back, it takes time and even hope loss, when the light is off. Fortunately, the character chops off the monster's head. But before that he hides and runs away for quite long. The computer also has a place with a poster or two and they tell us either about violence (most of them) or about memories (golf). One of the walls in the labyrinth show us a house in a forest - probably connected to the poster about golf. The feeling of transparency (if I'm not mistaking) and stickers with emotions in the labyrinth refer to his past experiences which certainly had an impact on him. In the scene where he shoots the door lock we can see scratches on the wall counting days or years. Seems that the character have tried to cope with the first monster for long enough. What's interesting here is that the monster teases him scaring him and demoralizing, as he might have done many times before. Food monster is in the Indulgence chapter. He just eats. And he looks like a tree or a palm with many fingers on it. He's the quietest of all. And that monster shares an ability that will later on help the main character. The ad on TV represents the process of sliding into fears and madness. At first there's an ordinary cheeseburger, but the more it proceeds, the more awkward those burgers become, including part of the body as a final one. Now the character is done - he shoots one of the memories and gains new powers to fight the new fears. The hardest of all for him is time. Time can work both ways: forward and backward. It usually goes forward, but when you slide into memories, it turns back for a while. Here's the time monster, supported by a few more clocks. A monkey and a fish are his childhood memories, and the picture is one people from his past (probably even a person he never met or his father). The smaller letters tell us something about a grandfather. Usually kids heritage their parents traits, so it is possible that the clock monster is his grandfather - not the father himself. When time starts running forward, the monster comes to life - the memory begins to arise again. What is interesting the weapon he used to fight with doesn't work here - the clock goes on. And then he gets a weird phone call telling about a bear stuck in a trap and not trying to leave because he'll die anyway. The consciousness is broken - the guy still has to fight back but he has to choose a new weapon or understand something he didn't to overcome the trouble. This monster is the hardest - he is the closest to his heart. He also has no eyes in eyelids - only teeth. He always eats - no matter with what - with the eyes or with the mouth. He wants to consume a person, especially closest once. The only way for him to escape the monster is to reach the "paradise" button and he does it. Next level of the fight is much easier for him now - he destroys his troubles with no hesitation, charged by the power of the palm/tree and the clock. Now the last step he has to take is to turn back to the reality. However, he can't do it - he's still behind the mind door. The girl from the begging is stuck in that reality and doesn't let him in. Maybe she doesn't want him to repeat the experience. Or she is the one of the "six guys" - the seventh and unmentioned, as she's a girl. By the end we see him outside, enjoying the nature. He looks at a girl with beautiful hair and live-like look. They're both colored now. The way all of the colores change indicates the paradise he was longing for. Yet there are still two main details - he's still an employee and he notices a picture. That picture shows the clock monster, his probable grandfather. Fortunately, he manages to throw it into the water. Let us talk now about the girl. She seems to be his sister, who has something to do with all that weird experience. First she talks to him in the kitchen being the employee of the fast food, feeding his fears. By the end they switch roles - as if she gets a time-off, a quick swap if the reality that helps her to ger back to her precious past. She has grey hair at the start and wears black and white clothes, except for supporters which are red. But the same girl in blue and with golden hair - she's alive and emotional, unlike her older version. Though may as well assume it's all shown from the perspective of the main character, so he might be the one to see his sister "alive" and "dead" so to say. Still there's a room for various interpretations and I hope mine wasn't anyhow hazardous. Again, I must say this animation is a gem and will gain it's auditory in no time. One more thing to ad is about the smoothness of it - I believe that in this very situation a smooth animation might have spoiled the effect of distress and inner destruction, so your work becomes even more valuable in this matter. Wish you to proceed and practice - you're a great animator! UPD: after rewatching it for some times it have occurred to me the sixth guy might be the main character himself - there are five monsters, so the sixth should be someone closest to the time creature as he is the most powerful.
Okay, I've read your interpretation. Firstly, I really appreciate you taking the time to write down your interpretation. Secondly, there's a lot you got right here, your analysis of the time part in particular has alot of good points. I plan on expaning this more in the future so you'll have to look out for any more information being revealed.
I think the sister being the "security" is just the main character's first way of avoiding the fears. She kept him away from all of them in the first place, yet when she "died" or grew up, he had to face the monsters alone
The time sequence was so incredibly well thought out and it had me on the edge of my seat the entire time!! I love each chapter and the eeriness of Autumn since it was so peaceful. Can't wait to see more!! :D
Even though the animation is pretty clunky at points, this is still 100x better than most horror movies I've seen. You have an amazing knack for capturing the true thrill that's lacking in million dollar films (and I think the animation style adds to it anyway, since a perfect animation leaves less to the imagination).
This right here is why I love animated horror passion projects. This video is horror done right, from start to finish. Banging job bro, absolutely fantastic work!
It is strange... but compelling. You break your head trying to make some sense out of it... and yet, there are so many explanations we could give it. Both right and wrong, and in between. Also, your animation reminds me a bit of Lord Bung's Confinement. As it too delves in the supernatural territory.
4k subscribers, dude you should have half a mil for work like this. F****** OUTSTANDING 14/10! I love the SCP/unknown entity style of this video but I'm sure that anything you got planned to make is going to be amazing. Bought my subscription for sure!
I keep finding these newly released short films, is it graduation day for a lot art students? A thesis film for the ending semester? Or just outright want and need to create great animations all throughout the world? Well whatever it is I am glad to have found these newly made treasures, well done to you indeed
Man I absolutely love this, outstanding job! Love the style and how the themes are intersected with these nightmarish encounters, and that some how you were able to tie all these things into a simple yet effective story of grief. I have a question though, do you have any recommendations for similar type of horror like this, whether that be game, movie, or show? Also what type of sub-genre of horror would you describe this? I am honestly in love with this film and would love to find other media like and and I can’t wait to see what else you will make in the future!
Thank you so much for the feedback! I am not exactly sure how I'd classify this genre of horror but similar works include the 'Little Nightmares' video game franchise from a structural viewpoint, games like 'Darkwood' and 'World of Horror' from a creature design viewpoint, and films like 'I'm Thinking of Ending Things' from a thematic viewpoint. Also if you're looking for purely visual similarities I'd recommend reading 'Fragments of Horror' by Junji Ito. Thanks again for your interest in the animation.
This is both underrated and absolutely amazing! First of all, the animation: it’s so smooth! I’ve made a few animations myself (not on this account), and wow, this must have taken a LOT of patience. The designs and story are all outstanding-the attention to detail, too! Especially phenomenal is the way it explains grief and the mind in a beautifully grotesque way. I normally don’t leave comments, but after stumbling across this, how could I not? Short films like these are always more moving and often have better messages than many animated (and even live-action) movies today.
I love the animation and art style of this short film, it feels so simple yet the designs of each monster is so complex! What I love the most is the sound and music of this short film though. It adds so much to the atmosphere, it makes you uncomfortable, it makes you fear, it makes you afraid. I felt uncomfortable and scared throughout the entire film, and that's a good thing! One of the best horror pieces I've ever seen.
Honestly, This is actually insane! I love the monster designes. The horned smiling one in indulgence is my favourite! Also I love it when people use phobias as the basis for horror, especially Thalassophobia, Tripophobia, Arachnophobia, and Claustrophobia. Just 10/10 awesome! Never going to a Five Guys with more than Five workers again
Never have I been scared, amazed, disturbed, interested and jumpscared at the same time amazing work I love the animation style and the concept in overall!
Dude, this animation looks so good yet so bizzare. I mean like the scary monster, specialy the Clock Monster. Really capture how time passed and everything just start to decaying.
this is pretty incredible. at first i was very confused and a bit sad that the second guy was just shot and that was it, but i noticed a pattern at some point and it feels like the character is grieving alot of things, such as the death of an important father figure in the time chapter. this was a blast to watch and i enjoy the spooky style it has, really up my alley! such horrific monsters, very reminiscent of SCP. im gonna go share this around, its awesome! keep creating
Absolutely wonderful. Love the visuals. Wonderful designs for the guys. My favorite part had to be the point near the end where Sam broke his face apart and opened his hand to shoot lightning. Thought he was about to become one of the guys. Again, wonderful stuff.
I love horror I dont know why, and sometimes I think I'm a little twisted for it. this... this is perfect It kept me gasping in horror, shock, and surprisingly, enjoyment Please keep going with this I didn't completely understand the whole thing, but it was terrific all the same
i like the atmosphere in this ngl, i'd work as a video game concept imo (the claustrophobia chapter was amazing, loved the monster, if i were in sam's shoes i'd already be dead the moment the centipede ram justles a bit) (also i ended up calling special move as special meat thanks to he indulgence chapter going on in the backround while talking to my brother about flamigo probably getting banned from competative tournaments in pokemon, i've been infected)
Not only is this absolutely incredible, but I wanted to say that this has likely the best background art I have ever witness! It captures the mood of the story perfectly, is really realistic and detailed, and it's full of little things everywhere that makes it a joy to look at!
101K views, 10 months of work. RUclips gave you 101K views for this masterpiece? This is amazing. I recently got into horror and this just ..... fits. This is one of the best horror mediums I have ever seen. This is VERY high quality and it feels that warmth of a deeper meaning. Thank you.

I like the added touch of when the guy shoots the clock guy, it doesn't stop, like how time never stops no matter what you do.
Stuff that i noticed:
There is a lot of cool info on the chapter cards.
Thank you so much! I really appreciate the comment.
Missed opportunity for 6/6
10 month for that? I thought it took you at least a couple years. Absolutely amazing.
Thank you all for the visual treat.
I have NEVER seen such an horryfying animation before, we need more animations in this genre, this was such a good horror! Respect!
Watch pleasant inn, im used to horror but it kept me up for a while at night
The tinnitus from the multiple shots towards the "clock guy" was a nice detail.
I’m glad five guys finally added another one to their group!
Not even done watching the video yet but I'm IMPRESSED. So much hardwork and creativity to make this masterpiece. I really love it man, keep up the great work!
7:19 that shot and timing was smooth af
Lots of good points here. Although, I think the girl at the end is the person he was talking about to Nicole, not his sister.
I think the sister being the "security" is just the main character's first way of avoiding the fears. She kept him away from all of them in the first place, yet when she "died" or grew up, he had to face the monsters alone
i'm not reading allat
@@randomuser4135 but we up 🔥
This is like Confinement but #1 scary. #2 unpredictable. #3 hasn't promised the world without delivering.
great aesthetics! i adore how you played with framing and blackness in the vents
I feel like I smoked crack without all of the negative side effects
Also the cast of demon things are one of the coolest I've ever seen
The time sequence was so incredibly well thought out and it had me on the edge of my seat the entire time!! I love each chapter and the eeriness of Autumn since it was so peaceful. Can't wait to see more!! :D
This feels like one long continuous nightmare....I mean, I'll be honest, it made me tear up. Incredible, thank you
Even though the animation is pretty clunky at points, this is still 100x better than most horror movies I've seen. You have an amazing knack for capturing the true thrill that's lacking in million dollar films (and I think the animation style adds to it anyway, since a perfect animation leaves less to the imagination).
I really like the designs of the monsters presented here. They have the perfect combination of creepiness, and cartoonish simplicity. Great job!
This was amazing! I love the character designs, and how well you did the animation :]
This kinda feels like if you combined the first 5 fanaf games, made it creepier, and then based each level off of different phobias.
That was one, if not the best representation of living as a human being that I've seen. Amazing work
It's rare to find good quality shot films like this so I'm happy to rewatch it to look closer for little details I missed first time round
Feels like a mix of Confinement and Gemini Home Entertainment when it comes to the art and monsters but plays out surreal. Good job.
Thank you, This was just a personal project of mine.
@@TheSixthDoor well it's amazing and deserves all the recognition it gets
I also found myself in the same situation, check out crescence, I liked it a lot :) But this one is such a masterpiece..
@@euphoriehappy1383 hahahaha dude I came from crescence then got this to follow up xD
Dude level up from Night shift guard to Darth Lord of the Sith in 17:18 minute.
The balance between humor and horror is so good. Love how much detail was put into crafting this. Great job!!!
When i read "six guys" my thoughts immediately went to "FOUR BIG GUYS-"
This is extremely underrated, i hope you will gain a lot of popularity.
I like coming back to rewatch this every now and again
I feel like my brain has been spun around...
But I love the design of the creatures.
Man would do 50/20 on his first try.
Easily the greatest FNaF reference in the comments section.
All of your animations would be the best indie horror game ever
claughtsraphobia resembles fnaf help wanted. the ennard and mangle levels.
The Style and the animation mixed with the horror is really cool.
I almost never get freaked out by horror films but this was the first in a long time that actually got my skin crawling! Excellent work.
"A animation can't be scary"
-me before I see the 1st 20 seconds
This should deserve more recognition than what it has right now, which is 139K views as of Dec. 10th, 2022..
This animation feels like I'm watching somebody's nightmare. Good job mate
I have NO idea what this means, but this is a fantastic animation!
most realistic guy, shoots anything that moves.
man wtf only 600 subs?? You deserve millions! this was one of the best animations i have ever seen, great job mane
I can take on six guys, honestly.
Amazing animation, seriously this is incredible. And i absolutely love the monster designs !
Never have I been scared, amazed, disturbed, interested and jumpscared at the same time amazing work I love the animation style and the concept in overall!
The main characters design is really cute I love the eyes
Dude, this animation looks so good yet so bizzare. I mean like the scary monster, specialy the Clock Monster. Really capture how time passed and everything just start to decaying.
Incredable work. So much SCP perfomance, but in the same time so original and interesting.
I appreciate the creativity that went into this, im proud of you
you're telling me it took 6 guys to make this burger ?
this is pretty incredible. at first i was very confused and a bit sad that the second guy was just shot and that was it,
but i noticed a pattern at some point and it feels like the character is grieving alot of things, such as the death of an important father figure in the time chapter.
this was a blast to watch and i enjoy the spooky style it has, really up my alley! such horrific monsters, very reminiscent of SCP.
im gonna go share this around, its awesome! keep creating
holy crap. this is amazing. I was expecting some sort of low tier short film, but this deserves awards. Great job.
Absolutely wonderful. Love the visuals. Wonderful designs for the guys. My favorite part had to be the point near the end where Sam broke his face apart and opened his hand to shoot lightning. Thought he was about to become one of the guys. Again, wonderful stuff.
I love horror
I dont know why, and sometimes I think I'm a little twisted for it.
this... this is perfect
It kept me gasping in horror, shock, and surprisingly, enjoyment
Please keep going with this
I didn't completely understand the whole thing, but it was terrific all the same
i like the atmosphere in this ngl, i'd work as a video game concept imo (the claustrophobia chapter was amazing, loved the monster, if i were in sam's shoes i'd already be dead the moment the centipede ram justles a bit)
(also i ended up calling special move as special meat thanks to he indulgence chapter going on in the backround while talking to my brother about flamigo probably getting banned from competative tournaments in pokemon, i've been infected)
Honestly this would make such a good horror game, this is super cool!
WTF that was enjoyably bizarre, confusing, and weirdly surreal. It was like Salad Fingers on crack turned up to 11.
Thank you.
An astounding piece of film, especially for RUclips. The attention to detail makes watching worthwhile, whether just once or multiple times.
Somebody *PLEASE* send this to Cory, he needs to this this, it’s way too underrated.
I don't know who Cory is but thank you
This is lovely. this is amazing beyond measure. please make more of these amazing animations and keep up the great work,
