I really like the design language VW has. It's commanding and elegant, and devoid of all the attention-seeking and loud (sometimes tacky) elements some other cars have. Pretty nice and understated design we've got here. Really enjoyable POV, thanks!
@@srt4788 Golf is very compact that can't match practicality of Taos. I prefer Taos in golf-tuned since it is only way to fulfill the family practicality and fun-to-drive factor. I chose Jetta even though I liked Golf because of practicality; huge trunk and great rear legroom.

It is imperative to know what kind of dsg that is. If it is dry clutch dq200, then avoid it like plague; very weak and vulnerable. If it is dq381 or dq500 wet clutch, then it is safer option albeit not strong as Aisin 8-speed that can handle towing capacity such as VR6 in Atlas.

I now have 1,100 km or about 650 mi roughly on my new car my new Taos and I find as time goes on it's getting quicker and quicker and fuel mileage has increased a lot since the day drove it off the lot is that because it's broken in now? My mileage is about 26 or 27 city and about 33-34 Highway and that's the all-wheel drive version it shifts as quick as it can and often as I can to hire gears to save gas so when you're putting around it'll shift quickly and you'll be up to fourth gear doing like 50 km an hour the engines turning over a lot slower therefore getting better fuel mileage until it comes to a hill right of course what's your opinion on the whole thing?
I own a mk 7 Golf and the other day I went to see this Taos thing in the dealership, squeaky door handles, hard plastics, the new VW interior design is kind of abusive of piano black and weird shapes. I wouldn't buy this car for sure. Maybe i'll give it a shot when the Golf Mk8 hits the Americas.
From what I see, the Golf is an established model in the VW lineup. The Taos is new (I say relatively because apparently it’s based on a Skoda or some other VAG car) to satisfy a recent trend of these high off the ground vehicles.
I bought a 2022 Volkswagen Taos SEL top of the line the only thing we didn't take was radar cruise control my golf r 2018 had that and I never used it it's got every other Bell and whistle and it's got that 1.5 turbo Miller cycle engine 158 horsepower 184 pound feet of torque and my 0 to 60 time is about 7.8 seconds I just did it a few minutes ago it was 8 seconds sometimes it's 7.6 what kind of acceleration are people getting out of theirs especially if they don't know that their car has launch control or they may have the 8-speed torque converter transmission which I test drove and I liked the smoothness but I didn't like the fact that it was not a DSG cuz I like launch control. I'm not overly impressed with the Miller cycle engine in it I find it has a direct link to poor performance so the DSG with the launch control yields a better result and when it switches into second gear when after you do the launch you take off the one to two shift makes your head hit the headrest kind of like the golfer and then the shift from 2:00 to 3:00 is about another half as violent as that and then again half as fired violence on the fourth shift that transmission is nice and it is the perfect match for this engine and vehicle. Nothing's quite like the golfer for acceleration I'll tell you that I miss it so much but the price is just too much it was right around $900 a month and we decided to get rid of it we dropped her payment to $600 but man do I ever miss that car everybody looked at it everybody loved it and I used to love taking people for rides in it because the look in their face was priceless
@@Lucky8s VW underrates fuel economy. You might get better the epa. Maybe up to 33 and beyond. Toyota 2.5 is also fuel efficient but sluggish whether it is due to transmission or engine as whole. 1.5 TSI might feel more quicker off the line with dsg on sport mode. Tiguan is also mated with same transmission; Aisin as available in Toyota in all across the models barring hybrid. Aisin 8 speed can feel sluggish but does shift well most of times - sometimes you are stuck on 3rd gear while waiting for more power which happened with Atlas TSi.
@@ahsanmalik1013 Toyota's 2.5L I4 isn't sluggish at all. It has ample torque for a naturally aspirated engine. VW does not underrate its fuel economy. The company is not known for that at all. With a small displacement turbo and a 7 speed DCT it won't get good fuel economy and it doesn't.

I personally would choose the 4motion "AWD" version just so I could have the 7 speed DSG gearbox..

im from argentina and it is the same, the interior quality is really bad, i also own a golf mk7 and i think it is much better than the Taos

Acceleration is quite good. Fuel economy is mediocre. A regular gas RAV4 beats it on paper and especially in real world.
