Hands down, this may be the most useful video about the Taos on RUclips. Thank you for the in depth details. SO much easier than trying to read about the different trim levels. Great job!
I bought the base model because all the auto journalists I reviewed, said the same thing across the different trim levels, that the base model offers the best value at that price point where as the upper trim levels are competing against whole lot of other cars which you might want to consider.
We are still shopping and comparing the Taos and the Honda HR-V. I agree the S is a great value and they have them on the lot, but the thing we can't get past is the weird, cheap, shiny, plastic interior paneling at 5:04.. that alone is the deal breaker.
Just came across your channel. I recently purchased a Taos S with 4motion. I love it. And I love how very informative you were between all 3 Taos models. You have a new fan, my friend.
i have been looking a DOZENs of videos and articles.. this by far is THE BEEEESTTTT VIDEO.... very thorough but quick... This is extremely helpful . thanks for your efforts . Wish you were in Texas so I can buy from you
This was a great video! I have the S, it's great to actually SEE what's different in the higher models rather than read about them... maybe next time i'll go for the SEL! Thank you!
This was exactly the information I needed! Thank you so much for taking the time to record and post this. Merry Christmas to you and your happy helper there!
@Reese Sells Cars Volkswagen Guru Thanks to your video, I had all the info I needed to buy my new 2022 Taos SEL 4motion in Cornflower Blue, on the 20th. Bought from Findlay VW in Flagstaff, AZ. Great dealership! (They owe you a comission check haha) Thanks again!
I just got a blue Taos SE, unfortunately my dealer here in Arkansas didn't have an SEL and it was out of stock around the area as well. But those ventilated seats are something I wanted (as my dream SUV was an Audi Q7 with ventilated, but a new Taos beats a used Audi in maintenance costs any day of the year!). It would be great to upgrade later on, or also if aftermarket ventilated seats could be installed in my SE (as a supported VW accessory upgrade). One thing I would also like to see on Taos versions in the future is a towing hitch. I think its unofficially rated for 1500 pounds, but since VW didn't complete the required testing on the US, its not listed as a towing capable vehicle at all.
Driving assistance. If you have IQ Drive, that will bring up Lane Assist, ACC, Side Assist, etc. There is also a button on the tip of the turn signal stalk.
I have the base/S model ...learned tonight while driving in the rain at night that the side view mirrors are not heated. Water droplets stay on the mirrors, which made it dangerously difficult to see properly to switch lanes. Any suggestions on a solution?
I learned this tonight. Pouring rain and at night makes it dangerously difficult to switch lanes. Came here looking for suggestions on what to do about it
Good video but you guys never have any cars for sale on ur lot. U have them on ur site saying they r in stock but once I get to ur lot u don’t have them. Especially the Taos.
I am going to get the SE model. The SEL has a few additions that are nice, but the price savings over the SEL seems to be the sweet spot. Reese, what do you think: SE vs SEL?
@@vwguru I am just trying to decide if the extra 5k or so is worth it or not. Thats roughly $80-$100 a month more. I like the SEL and the additional features, but the price on the SE is very attractive.
I hope that this video helps you make a choice on your next vehicle.

Congratulations on your choice. You will love it.

5 star review 👏
Every comparison video should be like this.
Thank you.
@@vwguru thank you! Wish I could’ve bought the SE from your dealership. I had just bought one yesterday from a dealership in south Texas.
Congratulations!
Great video. Appreciate the fact that you went into some of the menu options on the head unit.
Thank you for watching!
Thank you for this!! Please keep making these honest informational videos!
Thank you! I will!
Beats audio not an additional option with the se trim?
No, it only comes on the SEL.
The mark up is like 5K above msrp here. Wish I could buy from ya 😂
I'm worth the trip.
Can you do a comparison video with the Tiguan s se and sel
Working on it!
is there a sport mode in base model?
Yes, all trims have a "Sport " mode.
Great video,,,,,,I just bought one.
Hope you enjoy it!

Try putting Rain-X on the mirrors. Otherwise, not really.
Doesn’t blind spot monitoring come standard on the SE model?
It does. I'm not sure what I said in the video but it comes on the SE.
Great video!!! 🥳🎈
Thank you!
Hey. The mirrors aren’t heated on the base Taos, just an FYI

I just traded my Passat with 2022 Taos Highline ♥️.

Buy a year old sel with low miles.
I love my sel. Wish the the tail gate was power.
It is a great vehicle. They may decide to add a power liftgate to later models.

@@usa4life71 I'm a gadget guy, so I like the SEL but you can get an SE with the IQ Drive package and it is a game changer!
