Ole Smokey at Knoebels in Elysburg, PA.
Built in 1960, Ole Smokey is the park’s miniature coal-fueled steam train. This replaced the Nickel Plate train ride which was built in 1946. The engine was bought from Crown Metal Products but the passenger cars are reused from the Nickel Plate. The 16 inch gauge train travels through the park’s kiddieland and over the motor boats ride and natural creek. NAPHA recognizes Knoebels for their continued hard work to operate this unique miniature steam train.
