The 450h+ is my favorite NX trim. PHEV let’s you have an EV style gas free daily commute but without the range or charging limitations of a full EV. It is genuinely quick, has solid features and tech, good practicality, minimal fuel costs, and Lexus dependability, it is a great all around car.
I ordered & received my 2022 NX 450h+ after a 7 month wait - I ordered it in Aug 2021 & received it in early March….I LOVE THIS CAR!!! The last time I filled it up with gas was April 1st!!!! Using the EV charging has been GREAT! I’m getting 72+ miles per gallon….so glad we purchased this car!!!
Great review Matt! I guess I'll give my two cents here after owning mine for about 450km now. I have the similar complaints as you did on some points, the brake pedal is def odd and inconsistent. I too occasionally find myself braking too early or late due to that, it's not a dramatic issue, but something worth noting. I also noticed the odd buzzing noise every now and then, I'm assuming maybe it has something to do with heating up the car in cold climates (I live in Canada). On the charging part, on mine It does display the charge time and battery capacity on the dash when it is plugged in, I'm not sure why your did not. When I approach the car with my key the dash lights up and displays all that info. Otherwise tho, what a fantastic car. I agree Lexus def hit a sweet spot for plug in's and I think it is the perfect daily driver or the perfect single car for a family. I have the non f sport one like you did and I find the handling and performance plenty, it's comfortable and relaxing which is all I ask for in a Lexus. I'll Hoon in my frs when I am in that mood :) great video Matt keep up the good work!

So what range are you getting on the battery in this weather? I've got a 2016 Porsche Cayenne SE plug-in hybrid, but it only has around a 20 km range. Good for getting groceries and dropping the kids at school, not good for longer commutes. Want to trade it in for the 450h+, but my family is complaining they don't want to swap a Porsche for a Lexus. lol! It's just a damn car to take you from A to B, ideally without using any gas.
Lexus was definitely smart in keeping the luxurious comfortable cruiser vibe here. Nice! My mom just ordered an ES 350. I was hoping she'd get a chance to try out the new NX but there wasn't one available. Given her needs, I think the sedan will likely work best for her. I'm hoping that navigating the Lexus infotainment is okay for her considering the recent touchscreen upgrade on the ES. However, I understand that the new system in the NX is the latest and considered superior. Overall, I think the ES will be great, but that NX is nice; perhaps that will suit my wife's needs when it's time to get rid of out 2018 Odyssey and I'll get her 2021 CX-9. I definitely think that plug-in or full electric will be the way to go for our next car. Thanks for the review, Mr. Maran.
