Customer Service is something that I consider a key part of every sale. I am an everything seller- so I generally do not have repeat buyers. The brief sales interaction in most cases is the only opportunity I get to connect with the buyer...on every sale I send over a template and fill in the blanks of their name, item purchased and tracking. It's what I call a "feel good" email that thanks them for their purchase and assures them that if they need anything further along the way that the door is open for them to do so at any time. Great video- made me consider doing inventory this week!

That's next level. I really should do that, at the very least for higher dollar sales.

I do the same and have been messaged countless times that this was the first time they’ve ever received a message from a seller… it’s crazy, right? Before I started reselling I was a buyer on eBay and never received messages from sellers either so when I started I wanted to give an experience I never received because it was something I would prefer.

    Funny story (based on #3)
I had a return that I sold where I totally 100% sent the wrong item after I researched (wasn't intentional, I thought the model was A vs B etc).
Buyer sent me a message saying "Make this right or I'll leave negative feedback"
So of course, I went through the regular experience, figured out my mistake, and refunded 50% (which was about market value for the model he received.)
I check my feedback today and he posted.... positive feedback! I was so surprised. I just didn't want any feedback if any, but leaving a positive was great to see he understood my mistake, appreciated my customer service, and let me know. The little things :)

    Good info.
There’s 1 more thing I implemented with my inventory: I have a sheet of paper taped on the side of each box/bin. When I do inventory, I write the date on that paper. Helps me keep on track.

I came to reselling with a background in customer service and running a store that did mail order. So I had pretty good idea of about half of that part of the business, thankfully.

Great video Evan, with lots of good info. Keeping a good inventory system is key. I used to 'know' where everything was. As my inventory grew there were instances that I could not find something or it would be in another place other than were I KNEW it was. And the management part of your inventory is something I also neglected for a long time. I kept seeing videos of resellers saying they had items that were no longer listed and they had no idea. I am trying to manage my inventory better like you said, with checking to make sure items are still listed and comps are still there. Excellent info on the part about ignoring lowball offers. I won't be ignoring anymore. Keep 'em coming!!

Evan is correct when he say's some people will help you out! I had the great luck of running into him at a local Goodwill just after I got in the business and he has become a great friend and a beacon of knowledge that always returns my calls and has helped me out tremendously. He is everything and more that you see in these video's.

Thanks so much, this is very helpful info, esp for new resellers. I've just been selling for 6 months, and I will be eternally grateful to youtube resellers such as you, who taught me to set up my inventory system ahead of time. I'm an organized person, and I can't even imagine the headache of not being able to locate an item to fulfill a sale. I'd probably panic! Lol.

This was a super video! The low ball offer example you shared was something I never thought about. I never even thought about buyer might be making a DISCOUNT offer. With that said I don’t ignore any offer. I just counter low balls with a reasonable offer and if they come back again with a slightly higher low ball then I know they are truly a LOWBALLER and I decline. Also I 100% agree with a regular inventory schedule. Even if you do one bin a month you’ll find unlisted items. The benefit is that once you relist it you can check the trends on price and may even get a quick sale!

  • @MrJwatford
    @MrJwatford 6 месяцев назад

You were thinking negatively about that offer because of that hat on your head. LOL! Wish I would have watched this before I spent an hour looking for an item today. Good news is I found it.

I think just saying thank after each sale, helps I long run... I have had repeat buyer and positive feedback for just sending a thank you after shipping item. Very informative 💞

A couple of extra ideas on the inventory side, every time I pull a somewhat empty bin to add new items to it, I go through what’s still in there and see how long it’s been in there and possibly reduce the price or promote it. Also, I use a code in my description on the ad. It tells me when I bought it, and how much I paid for it, I put that in when I listed. That way, I don’t have to dig back through my data or have a steel trap memory to remember all those numbers. Always appreciate your humor and your tech tips. Like everyone else, looking forward to the spring garage sale rush.

Biggest mistake which you are making yourself is telling other ressellers your secrets.First time I ever told someone where I got something and went back to find my honey hole was bought out I learned that lesson.
