Good job as usual, Simon and Zack. Unfortunately, the stock is gone.😢
Could you make one like this without MagSafe as an option? For example, I need to use my own mobile holder since I'm not using an iPhone. I'm using a Samsung Galaxy Fold 6, which is a big phone. Instead of the MagSafe round hole, make it flat so I can stick my own phone holder.
For the next batch, please produce a larger quantity.
Yes we have neglected the Android community with this one. Can you post a link to your phone charger / holder so we can take a look ?
Useful idea Simon….the disappearing cable is clever! 🙂🙂🙂🙂
Morning Richard - yes it solves a problem and it is simple !
@@L663Good morning Simon….just an off subject note but I’m a bit battered after falling off a rock on the path into Kynance Cove and feel into a bed of big pebbles. It was last Wednesday afternoon and it was when my walking pole slipped on some sand on the step and I fell sideways. It has been mighty painful but nothing is fractured or broken…I just have Olympic standard bruising on my right side….how I did not hit any cliff or rock except the pebbles, is a miracle but I could walk away and the Doctors say I should recover in about a month. It feels like I’m carrying a 12” phone in my back pocket and standing up or sitting down is hard work…thankfully it is not bad when walking or once I’m sitting….BUT go careful if you are doing things…this is my first ever injury and I never want another!
Now L494 news…just before….Hilary had an accident with a small bottle of Spring water…she has to have it to eat after her long term Covid problems and I didn’t notice but was putting the bottle on the door pull section with the top being over the seat memory switch pack. This time, she didn’t get the top on properly so water dripped right on top the buttons and ran down into the door bin….i didn’t know until she said the seat memory was not working. I dried it as best I could and in fact it restarted as normal but later the seat began moving and adjusting completely on its own. I bought an air duster can (£18 in Toolstation!!) and tried to dry it with that but then I fell and I have not touched it since. It seems to have recovered but I must test it properly now we are home. I may be asking you about how to replace the switch pack on an L494!!!
Enough….back to saying OWWWWW a lot. 😰😰😰😬😬😬🙂Richard.
Does this fit if you have the Centre Console Storage Box - Type B?
*Patiently* awaiting restock. 🙂
Let me chase these ... if your name is on the waiting list you will be OK.
Good afternoon people! My NAVARA simply isn't engaging 4x4 LOW. All sensors were tested on a bench with a multimeter. The little engine was tested. The wiring of the sensors was tested, they all reach around 10v with the car turned off with the key turned. I don't know what else to do, I removed the relays from the transfer case and cleaned them but it still doesn't engage the low gear, it just engages and recognizes that it has engaged the 4x4 High. I don't know how to test the relays. The module was also tested. The scanner shows something related to sensors.
Is this the D40 or the newer NP300 ?
@@L663 d40
Is 2008/2009
definitely need to do the one for in front of the passenger seat
That looks like a great idea. I've just ordered one (the 'improved version 🙂) off your web site many thanks.
BTW, in my experience, the recent over the air software update to Version 4.1.4 (I think?) of my 110 P400e PHEV much improved the performance of the factory wireless charger. Overcomes the adverse effect of having the protective cover on my iPhone. 🙂
Cheers from Australia!
Interesting - I could test this as we have not updated the software yet on the 90 !
Lovely job Simon 👍👍👍👏👏👏
Thanks again Jimmy
On another tack, I’m interested in your cargo track/rails for pickup trucks. It’s all very well saying we need our own countersunk bolts but it would be great if you could show how they would attach securely to the sidewalls. I mean how on earth do you get nuts and washers onto the back of the bolts? Or are there countersunk rivtnuts suitable for the job? A video illustrating fitting these things may sell a whole lot more of them for you.
Good point - which truck do you have ?
@@L663 I have two Rangers. A 2014 ‘Limited’ and a 2023 New Generation Wildrak. The elder came factory fitted with tie down adjustable rails but the Wildtrak hasn’t got them. It has the plastic load liner and I miss the rails very much. I suppose fitting would be the same for most brands of pickup that have a double skin tub, which all do these days I think.
I use an iPad Pro off-road for my digital Ordnance Survey maps………… any idea if I can use MagSafe with a 2023 IPad Pro? I ask because I have yet to find a dash mount that will securely hold a big iPad in place in rough off-road conditions.
It does not look like magsafe was built into the ipads
www.anker.com/blogs/chargers/magsafe-pro-have-ipad
where would you want it mounted ideally ?
Love it, what a great design!
Purchased just now…. And waiting for it. CMON DHL 😅
We sold out in 24 hrs ! more stock coming !
@@L663 When do you think you'll have them back in stock? Can I pre-order one?
I reckon that your LR ones should sell like hot cross buns before shrove Tuesday. The generic one are nothing like as robust or suited to Defender as your holders which look to have an unique selling proposition.
What a coincidence though! Today I have had delivery of four MagSafe holders for my new iPhone15 Pro Max. Also works with my wife’s 14 Plus. Two Lisen ones have chargers, which I don’t think will work with the 14. I fitted one non charging one to the centre pillar of a tractor. The chargers to my wife’s Honda CR-V and a 2014 Ranger pickup . There is one non charging Yosh brand left to fit and that will be fitted to another tractor tomorrow. No need on the new generation Ranger because it has CarPlay and I’ve fitted a charging mat. These are stuck on using 3M pads and I’m not 100% convinced that they will last for the long term, but extra pads are supplied with all of them.
One thing to note is that you can get, and maybe you should supply with these, magnetic rings that stick to the back of phones that have not got MagSafe, like older iPhones and Android ones. They will not stick to gel cases though and any plastic has to be hard, smooth and very clean for bonding well. My wide’s 14 has a lovely red gel case and I tested it and the phone’s magnets are not strong enough to work through it. So for tomorrow I’ve ordered a case with built-in MagSafe for her, which is not much more expensive than a plain case. Luckily I had already bought a MagSafe Benks case for my recently bought phone. MagSafe really does hold phones very securely to the holders.
Interesting - I am not sure about the non charging use of this holder - it not really in a good place to use the phone for navigation etc - its a bit low for that. How many tractors do you have ?!
@@L663 My scenario is that your holder would speak mainly to Apple CarPlay, just like my new generation Ranger. So the phone just needs a secure home. However most people might well want it to charge, which is up to them. Personally all my road vehicles are fitted with variously USB A, mini A and C cables and lightening cables anyway to charge battery packs, iPads and various phones.
I have four tractors, three six cylinder powershift, one of which, the biggest, is a CVT. The smallest is the newest, at 15 years old, is a 100 hp simple tractor with only a 16 speed gearbox which has four power shifts in each of four ranges. A few gear short of ideal. The Vario has sat-nav and supplementary electronic control boxes for implements, such as a weighing and self calibrating fertiliser spreader that spreads the same rate per hectare regardless of forward speed. For a near 20 year old machine with so many electronics [five weighcells, a computer and actuators] working in a corrosive and damp environment, it has been amazingly reliable, touch wood.
Howdy! Afternoon nap 😅😅
Caught napping again !
@@L663 Getting older does suck 😆
Excellent!
Zack 👏🏼
As the car has CarPlay why the need for the charger? Just plug the phone in and it charges and quicker than on a wireless charger. I never use my wireless charger and it will charge a phone with a leather case on it.
You raise a good point - the main advantage is there is no need to find the cable and plug it in every time - also my phone has so much dust in the charing port hole that it does not always charge reliably. Also this could be used by the passenger who may not be connected to carplay.
The built in wireless charger is quite slow but the MagSafe is actually quite fast and when using wireless CarPlay it does a lot better job of charging the phone simultaneously without have to plug anything into the phone itself. I've found the built-in wireless charger works hard just trying to keep the battery at the same charge while the MagSafe actually adds power. If you like plugging in wires and having them exposed that's fine too.
The coil pocket
That works - i was thinking of "rear cavity" but it starts to sound weird ! I like your idea better !
Sorry I’m late, ironically ipad ran out of charge!
see we all need chargers in our life... what used to be the preserve of the teenage generation is now happening to all of us !
🙏🙏🇬🇧
Good evening Mr Virdi !
I know you don't want to say it Simon but I will - the stock Land Rover wireless charger is terrible design - in function and location. Especially with newer phones and overheating. I'm speaking more from L460 world but it's all the same stuff underneath...
Somebody was saying that the charging improved on the wireless chargers with the latest PIVI software update - not sure if that is true. The new Defender 2025 model has a new design of wireless charger.
@@L663 I've heard same and it was in one of the Pivi release notes. I just recently got 4.2. I'll test it tonight and report back.
@@L663 Update: I did a twenty minute drive in each direction with a stop in between. Going there battery went from 81% down to 80% and screen went super low brightness because of overheat. On the return, screen also went super low and phone was very hot but went from 73% up to 75%. I'm sticking with my own 3D printed solution for now.
