I have a 1.6 petrol with 3 years no claims. I cannot get cheaper than £700 pa. Third year in a row it has gone up. I am 30+ and 3 points from 2 years ago on my licence. 😢

@@NanelleGriselda In the example you only selected for Uk license, that has been driving in the Uk for 3 years. Even tho I have been driving back home for forever, I only have an international liscence and have been in the Uk for a few months, I have checked everywhere online and called every insurance comparison company .. I haven't gotten anything less than £270. I don't know what to do, and all my friends seem to be paying 100-120 . . My car is just sitting there wasting because I haven't insured it and I can't return.

My car insurance was paid in full last year which was £1,818 WITHOUT a black box (this is my first car) and it’s due in October. Now I’ve been quoted £3,212 with a black box.

But I'll say this from my experience. For a country where average income is less than 30K a year, asking 2k/year for insurance for a 5k car with so much personal details is terrible. Car finance with PCP, Insurance, NI... the UK is filled with such scams. It seems like people have just accepted their fate here.
It's the 6th largest economy of the world, but it's a leech on it's people sucking dry.

A £5K car with £1k to £2K/year insurance, £180 Road tax/year, £60 MOT, £50/month for breakdown estimation, £25-50 for gas/month.
If you figure this all out, it easily comes around £2k/year or more. That's a joke.

What's personal protection.. then why do we pay for NI, when I have to insure myself again for accidents.
It's plain scam... but it's kept under the carpet with eye catching EMI like... oh just £150 per month.
Thats almost or more than £2K per year, and for most people, that's about 8% - 10% of annual income before taxes. Thieves.
