    The way I see it, once Trey gets NFL starters at WR around him, 4 or 5 of those over throws are completions

    I respect your grind after your first major goal in life did not play out the way you had hoped. It's inspiring, doesn't matter what your new goal is, even if football didn't work out and you decided to be the best garbage man in America. Just the way you're attacking your new goal, these videos and analysis, makes my day. Would recommend your videos to anyone who's watching who currently is experiencing their first dream drift away from reality, not just football fans.

    Watched it again and totally love the laid back approach, and giving a shout out to the guy with mid socks and white T, lol.
    You should do a vid about an under the radar QB each year that you think has a good chance to become a good starter. Like try to spot the, Tom Brady in each draft. That would probably mean watching a lot more footage, but would be pretty sweet, especially if you end up being right about some if them.

    Would love to see you discuss his fit specifically with SF now that it's official. I feel like it was the perfect landing spot for him in terms of style of offense, but would be curious to see what you think about him in a zone run, pa heavy, shanny system

    He’s a very accurate QB big arm he can beat you with his legs he goes through his progressions fully he has a long release he’s much quicker with his eyes rather then a couple QB’s in this years draft he can overthrow a wideout just a tad bit but reminds me a lot of Ryan Tannehill

    Great job man. I'm definitely still worried about the accuracy. You can see it here, and there was one game footage reel I watched and I could not believe he was being considered as a first rounder the accuracy was so bad. Hopefully this guy gets a full redshirt year ala, Patrick Mahommes to work on his accuracy and really get comfortable with the playbook. I think Carolina would be perfect for him. Being behind and learning from, Bridgewater would really be ideal for this guy I believe.

    what do you think of the Josh Allen talk around him? Not saying his game is totally similar, but his path is similar being the supremely talented “mystery” of the draft that everyone knew about for a while but didn’t get any coverage during the seasons cuz of where he played. Good athleticism and a big arm/frame. Anyone think he’s the next Allen?

    This is probably an unfair assessment on my part but after seeing what went down with Carson Wentz I'd think twice before drafting a FCS Qb in the first round. Trey Lance might very well go on to be a great NFL Qb but the talent level between FCS players and FBS players are miles and miles apart. And the talent level between FCS and the NFL is like being separated by a gulf.
    And yes, I'm well aware that there has been players from small FCS schools that's went on to have good careers in the NFL but for the life of me I'm having a difficult time remembering any Qb's that's translated well from FCS to the NFL. The only two I can think of right off hand is Steve Mcnair and Doug Williams. I'm sure there is more that I can't remember but for the most part the majority of great NFL Qb's have came from FBS schools.

    • @maxbrowne4
      @maxbrowne4  3 года назад

      With Lance/Wentz comparison... you gotta dive deep and evaluate the areas of weakness that may have been covered up b/c the program was so strong.

    • @claudelwashington3725
      @claudelwashington3725 3 года назад

      @@maxbrowne4 True. And I wish nothing but the best for Lance. But if I were a NFL HC or GM (which I am far, FAR from being either) I'd be leery of drafting a FCS Qb in the first round. With that being said though, I personally think besides Lawrence every Qb after is a crap shoot in the upcoming draft. For whatever reason Justin Fields reminds me a lot of RG3. Once again, probably an unfair assessment on my part but that's what I see. Anyway, I really like your channel and I still say you have a future in coaching Max.

    15:39 watch that WR start running, then he hitches and then starts running again. I wonder if that threw Trey's timing off? Ball didn't miss by much. If the WR ran hard the whole time might have at least been on the hands

  • @bigbearcustomapparel7820
    @bigbearcustomapparel7820 3 года назад

    Lance is obviously a fantastic athlete - but at the end of the day, he has so little experience doing the things that an NFL QB has to routinely do in terms of knowing a professional playbook, reading defenses, and even in his accuracy at times - you showed that in your break down. I definitely think he’s worth drafting...but I’m not sure he’s a first round pick - even though I’m sure someone will take him. I’m a Steelers fan and I have to be honest, after watching all these break down videos, I wouldn’t be upset if the Steelers somehow took Trask.

    • @DWilliams-ce8nb

    In 2019, ND St ran the ball a little over 70% of the time. Defenses were forced to collapse in to defend the run. Was Trey EVER required to go through his progressions? Seriously doubt it. BTW, Trey had the most rushing attempts for ND St in 2019.

    • @maxbrowne4
      @maxbrowne4  3 года назад +1

      I do think the claim that he is the most NFL ready just because of his scheme is overhyped

    • @paidtourist6563
      @paidtourist6563 3 года назад

      Go watch his film. Trey definitely does go thru progressions. They didn't say that Trey has faster processing speeds that Fields for no reason

      @@maxbrowne4 People thought the same thing about Wentz...until Doug Peterson shipped Sam Bradford to Minnesota after naming Sam the starter. Why? Because Doug said Wentz had the Installments and verbiage down by day 3 of training camp. When asked how he learned the plays so fast, Wentz said that Philly basically ran the same offense as NDSU. So he just had to swap out NDSU's verbiage with Philly's. Hell, Andy Reid admitted to installing an NDSU wheel route play in KC's offense after seeing it while scouting Wentz in 2016. And Wentz drew up an NDSU red zone play that Doug Peterson like so much, they ran it for a TD against the Giants and another time against Washington. Remember the 2017 play where Wentz stepped up in the pocket and threw a TD in the righ corner of the end zone to Corey Clement while getting hit? That was the NDSU play.
      So is it overhyped that the system Trey was in could potentially make him NFL-ready by week 1? I don't think so personally.

    @DWilliams-ce8nb 3 года назад +2

    1. Averaged 18 throws per game in 2019.
    2. In his Natty game in '19, he threw the ball 10 times (6 for 10), and ran it 30 times.
    3. The only official 40 time I could find was 4.93 (on his ESPN high school page - he has gained 30 pounds since high school).
    4. Trey opted out of running the 40 in his pro day.
    5. Only 10 NFL teams showed up for his pro day.
    6. in his 2020 game, he threw 30 times - 15 for 30 for 50%
    Lance feels like a big-money agent media hype project to me. I don't buy this guy as a starting NFL QB. He heavily rlied on the run in college. Way too slow to run much in the NFL, IMO. I see him as a JT Barrett type.

      @@Emsems-gu2fh I've watched a lot of film on him. He's a slowish fullback with a decent throwing arm.. Has he ever gone through progressions? I seriously doubt it. Will some GM/Owner combo get conned into drafting him on day 1 or 2? Probably. Kudos to his agent and their publicity dept.

      I'm a big 49ers fan so obviously I hope he balls out. But at the moment I have to agree with @d22 Williams 22. The last 3 games he played, his progressions and accuracy are awful. Especially that 2019 championship. He gave up on too many pass plays and decided to run. He was only a red shirt freshman but I hope he has drastically improved since 2019.
