He has all the tools necessary, I think a lot of his success will depend on whether he can command and earn the respect of a locker room.

Maybe I’m overrating Bill Belicheck but I think he’s created such a strong environment in New England that the players that are there right now will fall in line with Mac Jones even if he were to struggle early. Because they understand the process and more importantly they understand that Belicheck gets results from it eventually

Everything I read/hear, that is his strong suit.

IMO, Jones is the best timing-route QB available in recent years. ANY decent WR can get open in his first 3 to 5 steps - on his break... but may be open for only a quarter of a second or so. Mac hits guys in that instant window, and does it over and over again. Most other QBs haven't 'found the laces on ball' before that quick-but-wide-open window slams shut.

      Burrow was even better

@@whambam21 No. Not at getting rid of the ball as fast as Mac. Mac is quicker. Not even close.

funny you say that - I LOVED Tua's timing ability

@@maxbrowne4 Tua was very quick on slants & screens, but I didn't see him run the range of short and intermediate timing routes that Mac ran so quickly and efficiently. Before Tua got hurt, he was fantastic at extending plays - but not so great at running the playbook - outside of slants, screens and fly routes.

@@DWilliams-ce8nb burrow had precise timing on much harder throws than mac. Mac had a lot of quicker developing plays. When you’re talking attacking zones 15-30 yards it was burrow and that’s facts. Mac every now and then just can’t rip it.

I think Mac Jones will be the best of the rookie Qb's this upcoming season. It was an absolute gift that he didn't go to the 49'ers. Going to the Patriots was a perfect fit for him. Remember I said it first. Mac Jones will be the Qb everybody's going to be talking about.

Found your channel a couple weeks ago. Really enjoying the content. I’m kind of new to in-depth analysis on the football side. I’ve been more of a basketball dude my whole life. Glad to finally to start learning more

Over/under 4.5 starts for Mac Jones this season...

I think it has to be over. Time and time again in a rebuild its been shown to be most beneficial to give young promising quarterbacks as many starts as possible, as soon as possible. Even if it sounds counterproductive

And I don’t love Mac Jones a lot, but he’s in the best possible system for him to survive as a rookie and sophomore

I'd guess over, because of Cam's recent injuries and also his accuracy issues. I'm a huge Mac Jones fan, but it wouldn't bother me to see him hold a clipboard for the entire season.

Kinda getting tough to agree w people who say ceiling is about how someone runs around at the QB position. The best long term QBs in the league over the last 20 years are primarily guys who can pass. Do we not all see that older and older QBs have dominated the league? Your legs go, it make a young player easier to put in bc they can make plays when they mess up, but it isn’t durable. Processing, arm talent is the key.

Mac Jones should steal a quote from Beck Hansen. Beck was asked if he was the Bob Dylan of the 90's. He said no, Bob Dylan was the Beck Hansen of the 60's. Mac Jones should respond when asked a similar question, that Tom Brady was the Mac Jones of the 00's and 10's. Of course we need to see Mac succeed to be able to pull that quote off.

Max, I think you’d enjoy mark sanchez’ 4th and long series on RUclips. He sits down with sark and mac and they go through film and discuss some concepts from USC. I’m sure you’ll be able to recognize a lot of what sark is still teaching to his current guys. Would also be a good reaction video

How about a retro on Tom Brady. What did experts miss? Was his illustrious career hidden but somewhat visible in his college days? Were experts right and he was just a very late bloomer? I'd love some insight there
