Driven the Golf R for 30mins hard driving with full Remus exhaust and little tune to 340HP, it got a bit ‘boring’ after a while because of the AWD. Sound was insane, grip and acceleration also, but just not so challenging to drive. I prefer something RWD
Golf R is sold out for a year in my area, Z is my #1 choice right now with this one close. Z comes with a manual and imo looks better, but this car has better sound and AWD system for the snow + rear seats in a pinch.
Golf is being marked up in my area, so Atleast 50k with taxes and fees , FOR A GOLF!!!!! No thanks M240i all day and it has back seats compared to the Z. The Z does look Bad Ass , especially with that blue interior
they had time to develop this car after the OPF restrictions rather than having to implement on an existing design so it gets around it sound wise. Also the horsepower numbers are back up to pre OPF levels.
I would think a fair few people who have the F40 M135i on order who was in love with the B58 engine will be cancelling there order and placing an order for one of these!
I don‘t see why anyone in their right mind would get an Audi S3/ A35/ CLA35 over this. The rear is not the prettiest, but I think the car has plenty to offer. Also the interior is very nice imo.

Is it wort it to get the X drive version? I was thinking of buying the M240i as my next car after driving cars like 420d GC, Formentor VZ 2.0 all with "all-wheel drive". To buy the X drive version in Austria, you have to pay 4.000,- € more than the basic version that might not sound like a lot, but cars in Austria are more expensive because of some stupid tax that we have. The basic M240i cost in Germany 58.000€ and in Austria 67.000 € + monthly insurance that's about 320€. For my current car, the Formentor Vz 2.0 I paid 65.000€ and a yearly insurance of 3.400 € (all-in policy).

Ahh, Bmw's new range of "I'm Blind But My Hearing Is Ok". Probably the most fun you'll have anyway. Sounds ok, but an RS3 sounds a little bit more special. I'd take the old M240/M2.
There is no 240i and never was. It was always called M240i. Of course its not a full blown M but its the same as AMG does with there 43 and Audi with there S modells
If anything they've been making the 'M' brand more premium over the years, and have filled the market gap with these M-lites, which are still excellent cars.

Got the grille looking better than the one on my G21 M340i. Still not perfect, but as it stops under the bonnet (rather than how the G20 has it) I think it looks fine. Overall, think it a better looking car than the G20 Still got the horrendous cockpit. So cramped and confused. Fortunately I've got HUD so never look at the cockpit save for seeing details on music/radio.

Why does the exhaust note "pause" every time it upshifts? Sort of like in a game
Because during the time of the shift the engine is not on throttle, so no sound during that time
that's how a ZF gearbox sounds without farts.. I like the fact that the ZF in this car doesn't fart when shifting. Hate that sound.
