    I never liked the battery compartment in the back. So i never really used mine till i got rid of it. I found it more effective to use a heated vest and layer my outer jacket over.

    I think they did pretty good with the jacket. I kinda expected a little more to be honest but i am happy with it overall. They improved the quality of the actual jacket itself same with their hoodie which i think was an issue on both dewalt and Milwaukee heated stuff before. Not that they were super thin or anything but you could tell function as a coat or hoodie wasn't high priority before but the new stuff from Milwaukee looks and feels very good. Heat element and controls definitely upgraded i really like the heated power source I got 2 of them these coats and stuff absolutely ruin regular battery packs used often if i can get a year or two from the power source before it loses all its life that would be well worth it over messing up m12 packs. I would have liked to see both shoulder and pocket heat elements on both coats though. They added Bluetooth control it seems like the obvious move was to have as many heat zones as possible so you could actually benefit from saving profiles running only the zones that you would want in each temp range but how it is now really you just need the button to turn pockets on or off the app is kinda pointless. Also they should have had multiple hookup spots on the coat it just makes absolutely no sense not to i mean it probably cost them next to nothing to add a pocket or two inside and it would only make it better so i didn't get that. Overall i like both the new hoodie and coat but with releases like the gen 2 stubby coming out it made the new heated stuff seem kinda underwhelming really for me the best new addition within the line was the power source and m12 top off that's included with coat. As much as I do like the coat , dewalt could take their 7-8 year old heated coat and upgraded the elements and it would be close to the same as the new Milwaukee it wouldn't take much for dewalt to improve that old design enough to be the better heated coat. If i was a Milwaukee product manager on heated gear i would have pushed first to have the most heat zones versus competition and Secondly made it into a modular line. Coat, hoodie, base layers all on the m12 platform but also with connectivity between each product. Imagine while wearing 3 Milwaukee heated products they all plug in together so you get the benefit of 3 heated power sources basically wired parallel and then app control for all 3 so depending on the weather you can use that extra runtime for the areas it's needed. If they revamped the redlithium heated gloves and added some leggings they would dominate the market and people who don't even use Milwaukee tools would become invested in the platform.

    I'm 5-9 184Lbs. I wear a medium axis hooded jacket. The large was huge on me. The medium is ever so slightly snug in the shoulders at full extension. Also. The new top up battery is so uncomfortable that i bought the $99 flat battery. The top up flops around and digs into my hip. The flat battery on high gets 2.25 hours. Hope this helps.

    It is actually a pass through pocket for the battery just reach towards the front, the front pocket is a different pocket from the battery pocket 😅 hope this helps

    A big miss for me is there is no heating in the lower back area.

    You can still put it infront . The battery pocket goes both ways

    The front/back heating panels are quite good. The high setting is sometimes too hot. The pocket heaters on the other hand are nearly useless. You can barely feel the heat in the pockets.

    Will the old version battery adapter work too?

    My wife bought me one, I wore it outside in the cold for a bit to try it out.Not impressed, it's stiff very heavy and the heat doesn't add much.Put on my lightweight down coat and was warm as toast.We returned it to home depot.

    What’s with the extra plug next to the 12v plug? I was kinda bummed about that. I wanted to use my 18v adapter

      @jeffclark5024 This is not going to use the 18 volt adapter sadly.

      @ The older 12v standard plug was nice. You could use any battery source you had with a 12v plug. I used to use my Milwaukee batteries with a dewalt heated jacket

    Do you know if you can take the new battery pack on an airplane?

    • @WorkshopAddict
      @WorkshopAddict  2 месяца назад

      @biggunaddict2931 It is still lithium, so they will ask you if you have it or if they find it in a carry on they may take it. It can go in checked luggage.

      @@thexchox1554 dewalt flexvolt milwaukee m12. That's the way to go in my opinion.

      The new Milwaukee tough shell is pretty much a clone of the dewalt heated jacket and it's been out for a really long time. Also the dewalt jacket has more heat zones you get more options on where you can store the battery pack. That being said Milwaukees does get hotter faster and overall plus m12 packs are way better for carrying around and the heated power source is even better in that regard. The Milwaukee does look and feel a bit nicer too - all that to say still kinda seems like Milwaukee just copied the dewalt and made it better. I do like the Milwaukee more but the first thing I noticed was how similar it was. I wish they used some of the stuff dewalt did though I like on the dewalt you get 3 different locations for the battery not just one pocket that goes two ways and should have had heated shoulders and pockets since you can turn either one off from the app. It makes me feel like Milwaukee will release a upgraded model at some point. The tough shell and axis thing makes no sense to me should have just taken best from both and made 1 good jacket. Now the new Milwaukee heated hoodie felt like a huge step up from the old one and versus dewalt. The gen 1 hoodie already beat dewalt by a big margin the dewalt hoodie is terrible and now the gen 2 hoodie from Milwaukee feels way higher quality as clothing in general and the heat element works better and faster also they got rid of the tiny hood they were using and now you get a full size one. If you have the jacket and hoodie you can really tell Milwaukee designed them to fit well together and I like that.
