I left Nikon just after the D4 to move to Fujifilm. I never looked back..... but boy. The Z9 blows me away. What a monster. I love it. And I love in your hands. Awesome vid eo.
A fresh breath to your channel but I kind of like more the videos where you film everything yourself (I know it's a lot of work). However, I wouldn't mind more collaborations like this. Thanks for sharing!
Yeah, color grade looks over saturated and too blue. I also prefer Morten’s usual look to the video. Also, there’s a bit too much slomo in this video for my tast. But other than that, I enjoyed the video
Agreed, i like the original Morten Style much more. The slowmotion and the subtile showing of trademarks and Logos is a bit too much like a comercial. Especially the scene with those many Landrovers is not Morten Style. Just my opinion....
For those commenting that this is just an advert for Land Rover, it’s also an advert for Scotland, for Nikon, for Nikon School, for any and all other brands you see. Just enjoy it for what it is, 28 mins with two fantastic photographers in Morten and Ricci and the wow moment for me at 16:10
The quality of the video showing you in nature is a well deserved recognition of your talent. You are an inspiration for so many photographers. So happy for you!
Out of all the photographers in the world it’s Morten I would like to meet most. Maybe next time in Yellowstone? Every time I watch you’re videos it inspires me. One of the greats and a true legend.
I had to make a decision recently and give up on my growing hobby of photography, where wildlife/animals was by far the most enjoyable area for me. It left me bitter and made me unfollow all the photography related channels and information sources etc. I do not touch a photograph anymore even for an edit or anything. However I keep returning to Morten's videos because the cinematography, the calmness, the sceneries, respect to animals and the way he takes photos on his trips/expeditions are to me the ultimate level of wildlife photography and represent the pure essence of it.
Two craft masters collaborating and sharing great stories, photos, tips, and techniques. Thank you both for all you do for us in the Nikon arena. The new cameras and lenses being released for the Z systems are phenomenal, and your expertise sharing is good for all of us! Morton, I hope you can recover your laptop and portable drives. Important (and expensive) tools for field work. Thanks again to the two of you for all you've done and will continue to do for photography lovers out here amongst us. Great work and much gratitude!
You're my most favourite wildlife photographer ever! The most miserable weather ever, dead computer, all the shit in this world and you just enjoy it, drink your coffee and be there with the nature will all the respect to the wildlife. Wish more people were like you, just positive and easygoing. And of course, creating great images meanwhile :)
A car commercial really, but with my two favorite photographers, so that's okay. Love these guys. I hope they got paid well, and enjoyed those scallops.
As others have already said, I have to admit I prefer your videos over this produced one. Your excitement about wild lands and wildlife came through in this video but I could also feel the influence of the Nikon organization. I liked Ricci and the fact that he's a photographer but he's also a Nikon guy who's there to do advertising. If I were in your position I would no doubt be working for Nikon, or Canon, and enjoying all that juicy equipment too so please don't take my comment as a criticism of you or your work. Changing the subject: Those images of that stag were just outrageous. I was so blown away by some of them that my jaw literally dropped. Wow! Would that I could trade places with you just long enough to see those stags for myself. Best always Morten, keep up the excellent work!
Really interesting video to watch, Morten, and I really enjoyed it. So glad you are getting the recognition you so much deserve. The images we just so awesome too!
I feel I'm right there with you. You are such a joy and inspiration. I wish I was with you. And Ricci too. I know I'm not maximizing my D500 to its full potential. I'm going to check out his channel. Thanks for that great tip. So sorry about your laptop. Hopefully you'll be able to retrieve you data. Keep us posted. And lastly, it's funny. I was wondering where your thermos of coffee was when you pulled out the burner and started talking about making a cuppa.... Thank you, Morten. 🤗
What a wonderful video, yet again. I am not going to lie, I kinda prefer your editing style, but I totally recognise that this video is not for just this channel and that is just a personal choice! There is just a bit much slo-mo for me :-) That said, I can only imagine how nice it is to hand the editing duties over! None of this got in the way of my love for this video though so, again, from the bottom of my heart, thank you for your work!
Wait, your telling us it's raining in Scotland, unbelievable, what are the odds 😜 looked like a great trip. Location and timing is a photographers best friend, the images came out great 👍😎
Great video as ever. As you say Ricci is a wealth of knowledge for all things Nikon. Your videos are my favourite you’re knowledge not only of photography but of nature and your obvious love of both are an inspiration and the fact that it’s in Scotland which is my favourite destination. What more could you ask for. Thank you very much indeed.
That was a very interesting video, Morten! Definitely slightly different than the usual kind of films that you got us used to seeing here but i really did enjoy watching 😊I am extremely happy that you're getting the recognition from the right brands and right people that you deserve so much! I am also really looking forward to watching the new videos from your local forest in Denmark, from your cozy farm. Videos like the one when you photographed cranes ("wildlife photography when it's best") or badgers are just the classics! Thank you for inspiring us with each new video! ❤
Great video Morten just love your enthusiasm so infectious I feel I am there with you sharing those moments. I do hope you can sort your lap top out and you did not lose any footage. Looking forward to your next adventure
Love this, amazing stag shots. I've been there with the water damaged laptop. Hope it can be revived. I see you've upgraded your waterproof trousers too. Do you mind if I ask what brand they are. J
I love seeing your videos of Scotland. Gives me inspiration to get out a little more and explore my own country. you take it all for granted when you live here
Excellent video Morten Hilmer. You are a reference for wildlife photography and very important your knowledge shared with us Nikon users. It's satisfying to have Hilmer as a Nikon ambassador. Big hug from Brazil.
A little bit different, more tempo( its not necessary) and I like the slowmotion. think you have a bit different color grading to. this is a balance act to keep your heart in the video, but you have to listen to the sponsor to. Its a good video, just amazing film on the animals, majestic. and its nice to have a sliding camera capturing you sometimes when you have a camera crew. good job.
Thanks for this great video, it's good ... almost like the ones you do when you are alone !!! ... even the photos, really beautiful ... almost like the ones you take when you are alone ... Great Morten !!!
Thanks for letting us tag along on such a perfect adventure and I LOVE that Land Rover & rooftop tent setup! I'm also a giant fan of Ricci so that was a great added bonus (I've lost count of the number of times he's helped me, and his photos are amazing). Sorry about the soaked laptop & drives. You could try dropping them in a big sealed bag of rice (or a dry cabinet) for a few days. I would think any SSD drives would be ok after drying, but it's safest to replace them.
The water damage of electronic equipment is a electro chemical process: Regular water contains dissolved ions. This is an electrolyte that will start an galvanic process at the presence of electrodes and voltage. Metal ions will accumulate at the cathode and the anode will corrode. Hence, after getting water into your device the most important and immediate action is to open the device and disconnect the battery! This is the first step you have to do for preventing your device from electrochemical corrosion. If you only dry your device while the battery is connected you most likely will lose the race in between electro chemistry and removal of water. To promote the removal of water you can soak the wet areas with isopropanol or methylated spirit. In case those liquids are not available you can also use deionized water. Don't worry about wetness, washing of printed circuit boards is a standard process in manufacturing of the same. You only have to assure that your liquid doesn't act as an electrolyte.
I love how you respect your subjects. I could almost cry for you and am happy you get to do this. I hope someday I could get that same experience. God bless you.
Tremendous video, love that it coupled both landscape and wildlife, which is often what I do on my outings. Thank you both, and all of your crew for taking the time to put this together.
Morten was remarkably calm when he discovered his laptop wouldn’t turn on. I hope his external drives managed to survive. The weather in Scotland is challenging but also very rewarding. It seems like Morton’s gear gets soaked with rain in almost every video Morton uploads . I loved seeing Ricci’s beautiful images.
Great video for Landscape and Wildlife photography with two very good teachers!! Nice perspective in the field and things to think about towards the Stags! I wish there would have been more examples of your photos taken and little more about the lens you used. I am sure the 100-400/400 2.8 are great lens, but examples would have been nice. Sorry about your laptop and drives getting wet! Fantastic insight to Scotland and yes many opportunities! Like others I have reviewed Ricci’s RUclips channel and a wealth of information for Nikon ! Great job guys !!
Great to see you enjoying all the weather that Scotland can throw at you. My dad used to be a mountain guide based in Torridon and its a great place to photograph red deer stags.
Very nice video and really cool that you could concentrate about the photography while someone else filmed you. However one major thing missing from this video was the showing of more pictures. There were so many times you talked about the situation, the light and composition but no picture were shown that would reinforce and add more depth to the sequence. This is something you do really well and propably the reason why I missed it so much in this video :)
Thanks a lot for your feedback. Yeah more images would have been awesome. I will post some of my photos on Instagram. I know it is not the same but it is the best I can do:)

Outstanding!!!!! I truly enjoyed this video. Very inspirational and makes my desire for photography grow even in my new home state which has snow right now. Thank you!
Hi Morten. I have been watching a lot of your videos over the past few months. As a naturalist and amateur photographer, I am very inspired by them. So just want to drop a 'Thank you' note here. Take care.
Morten great video as usual !Thanks for sharing! Can you please comment on what gear are you using ... I mean the tripod and the head! Thanks! I just start looking for something reliable for my sigma 60-600 with d850>Thanks

“Look, a pheasant!” Love it!
I completely lost track of time watching this video. It was a pleasure following two truly dedicated photographers at the top of their game.
Watching you is the most relaxing thing I do when I get totally overwhelmed as a parent
I left Nikon just after the D4 to move to Fujifilm. I never looked back..... but boy. The Z9 blows me away. What a monster. I love it. And I love in your hands. Awesome vid

Thank you for sharing this beautiful landscapes and wildlife photographie in the incredibel landscapes of Scotland 🦌 🕊
Another great video. Thanks for sharing it. Already looking forward to the next one.
The colors in this video are soo beautiful
A fresh breath to your channel but I kind of like more the videos where you film everything yourself (I know it's a lot of work). However, I wouldn't mind more collaborations like this. Thanks for sharing!
It's a lil weird colorgrade right
agreed, i prefer Morten's gentle editing much more - this looks too "instagrammy"...
Yeah, color grade looks over saturated and too blue. I also prefer Morten’s usual look to the video. Also, there’s a bit too much slomo in this video for my tast. But other than that, I enjoyed the video

@@Merijn_Huysmans Yep I agree on that. The look is different. Morten's subtle colour grades are much better in my opinion. :)
I always enjoy watching your videos. Thank you 🙏🏼
Glad to see Ricci is alive and well. He hasn't posted anything on his RUclips channel in quite awhile. He is definitely a great source of information.
Two of the photographers I respect the most, working together. It doesn't get much better than this!
For those commenting that this is just an advert for Land Rover, it’s also an advert for Scotland, for Nikon, for Nikon School, for any and all other brands you see.
Just enjoy it for what it is, 28 mins with two fantastic photographers in Morten and Ricci and the wow moment for me at 16:10
For me the shot at 20:10 was my favorite. Morten never disappoints me in his videos.
Oh Morten, your videos are always inspiring and thoughtful...being with Ricci is an added bonus...many thanks from Connecticut USA.
Nice surprise on Sunday morning! 👏😀👍
The quality of the video showing you in nature is a well deserved recognition of your talent. You are an inspiration for so many photographers. So happy for you!
Photographers don't need to make videos
Ricci is a wealth of knowledge.
Long time subscriber of Morten and Ricci. Wonderful seeing these two collaborate on content like this!
Another fantastic video Morten, thank you for sharing. Bonnie Scotland at her best.
Hello Morten Ricci, What a supper test of the Z9 in the rain. Bit that aside backed full of little but great tips. Keep well, keep safe and stay dry?
Love this video. Two of my favorite content creators.
