''I really have to do some landscapes photography... no, I think I am gonna put the telezoom on'' what a classic Wildlife photographer dilemma: to miss the elusive animal when changing lenses or to come home without a single landscape shot! Quality footage as always Morten, love you adventures and your pictures even more!
LOL I do what you too many times. I put my 14-14 lens on my camera to 'force' me to take some landscape photos and then I think about an animal showing up and quickly put a long lens back on the camera :) Welcome to North America. Great video, as always. Thanks for sharing.
As a photographer of your esteemed caliber I think it's important to speak about nature from a holistic perspective and about the loss of habitat and species! I see many photographers who take very nice photos but they don't talk much about the reality and I think that it gives the viewer a false sense that everything is great out there when the reality is so different. I am an artist and I speak about these kinds of things all the time. I certainly appreciate that you are doing this; take care and be safe out there....
Besides photography i have learnt to be gentle and subtle and more importantly having patience in life , especially when life is against you , with all odds and focus on goals. Many thanks Morten Hilmer
Starts off great like the usual Morten Hilmer video, but then at 21:30 it kicks up into another gear. The buffalo images are absolutely stunning and closer than usual.
Fantastic a video filmed in Yellowstone National Park. I only live 3 hours from the Park! Your stunning video and photos bring out the beauty of the Park with all its amazing wildlife. Thank you, Linda CREIGHTON Photography
Great photography trip does not always require great photographs for it to be memorable and enjoyable. The experience of observing wild wolves, bison or any animal in their undisturbed habitat is enriching alone. Couple the experience with great photography-videography and you get Morton... thanks for taking us away and sharing another experience love the vibe of this channel.
oh I think you've been to Trauth Lake and now of course the Lamar Valley. we have been in Yellowstone for a total of 5 weeks.. at the end of May 2023 we will spend 4 weeks in the park. Thanks for the nice memory
Love your enthusiasm for the Bison. Too often they get overlooked because people just want to see Wolves or Bears but the Bison are amazing and very fun to watch as well!
What an amazing place Morten and those Bison are stunning creatures. So glad they were not wiped out and are thriving again. Look forward to the next video. Cheers Keith
The was great Morten. My daughter and I did back-country hiking and camping at Yellowstone in the fall and did not need a telephoto for the bison. In fact a wide-angle was more appropriate since they won’t give us any peace while having breakfast and forced us to dump our coffee and hide behind the biggest tree we could find.
A new video from Morten, from a beautiful place - and you know you have to give it thumbs up before you watch it so you don´t risk forgetting at the end.
I was there in January, when it was a balmy 3 degrees Fahrenheit, haha. No wolves, but I got a lot of other great wildlife shots, including some excellent ones of a coyote. It's a heck of a park.
If anyone is used to photographing wildlife in snow, and doing so very well, it's you. But here you were in a new place - a different continent, no less. Out of our element it is always different. Sometimes difficult. But the challenges of an unusual place also bring the childlike wonder and excitement of something new. That shone through, Morten, and you produced not only beautiful photos but another touching and evocative piece of film. Like anyone who is lucky enough to follow your endeavours, I always enjoy your videos and draw huge inspiration from them, but it's also great to see you enjoying new experiences like this. Excellent stuff, as always.
Your videos are beyond being just vlogs for youtube,. They invoke feeling, which in my mind makes them true art. Another inspirational and motivational piece of art Morten
We should all be grateful these magnificent animals are still here and slowly growing in numbers. Can only imagine what a sight to see the huge herds of bison before the white man came to this country. Thanks for sharing again Morten, looking forward to seeing the rest of the episodes. Stay safe 🇦🇺
Thanks Morten for another great view of the wild areas . The snow looked incredibly soft. Almost need a bigger snowshoe 😉. I was surprised how soft the Bison's fur looked . looking forward to ep. 2. Stay safe
I was really hoping id run into you while you were out here. Maybe next time! Either way its so cool seeing you in such a familiar place after watching you on RUclips all these years.
Wondrous captures in your travels. Yellowstone is my favorite destination for seeing the wildlife and scenery. Too much to explain and recorded memories never give it the due justice it deserves. Happy following your adventure.
Excellent as always!!! I have been waiting for this episode to appear, it was a real treat when I got home from work and there it was! Beautiful work, I especially liked the bison in the falling snow at the end. Very inspirational!
Thanks for sharing your adventure with us! I'm no wildlife but a landscape photographer. Besides the beautiful images of the bison I also liked seeing some of the wintery Yellowstone 🙂.
Thank you. Really enjoy your work and passion for wildlife and nature. A true inspiration. Thanks again. Stay well and safe travels. All the very best. Cheers. 👍📷😎
I love seeing your perspective of the park and the animals in it. I was very excited to see you travel to the US. You would most likely be disappointed with Yellowstone in the summer. It’s so insanely crowded and hard to get away from folks. Still very fun. I have never gone in the winter and only live a few hours away. I need to do that for sure
Welcome to the USA, Morten. I was looking forward to these videos and hope you manage to get some shots of the elusive wolves, but if not you already have some very nice images of the bison.
Greetings from Cody, Wyoming. I was so happy to see you here and visiting Yellowstone. Your views of nature are always so interesting. I live just 50 miles east of Yellowstone and I think I take for granted what we have. I volunteer with the National Forest summers just outside Yellowstone .. your E.1 makes me realize just how amazing and beautiful our National treasure is. Thank you .. please enjoy every second of your adventure here.
When I saw that you were headed to Yellowstone to photograph wolves, I was so looking forward to see this video. We spent three weeks in Yellowstone in the Lamar and Hayden Valleys photographing Bison and Wolves. For my wife and myself it was an adventure of a Lifetime and seeing your video in Lamar Valley brought back fond memories. Thank you for sharing your adventure!
I spent a month there trying to catch them once. You have to hike in, commit to a hide/bluff, stay there all day, and maybe, after a week, you might get lucky enough to get one within 150-200 yrds. Otherwise enjoy views like Mortens from the road of them a mile away. They will chase elk right through traffic though.
Would be awesome if your next trip you met with Steve Mattheis too. You two would have a great time as well I'm sure. Great video as always and welcome to America.
Excellent, I love Yellowstone glad you made the trip. Yellowstone and Grand Tetons are fantastic for photography, I have been there 7 times in the last 5 years. Great videos and pictures as usual
Got to watch a wolfpack attempt to defend its kill from a grizzly bear! spent a few months of my life in yellowstone love it there glad you got to experience it / bring that experience to so many people!
Love it! This is my home park, I'm usually shooting in the park several times a month. I'm glad that you were able to come shoot here and explore this amazing National Park. Loved this video. Keep up the great work and I know I am not the only one looking forward to episode 2 from YNP.
Wildlife photographer is hard work , and when you add in wind cold and snow it really tests your inner strength to keep going , a lot of the time you can come home with little or nothing in your camera for a great financial and physical effort, as for landscape photography the subject does not run away from you or turn it back on you like the way a wild animal does most of the time , anyway you got to keep going .
Wow - Great video, Morten! I'm always amazed again what great adventures you have and what great pictures and videos you take! That always motivates me a lot, not to stop with wildlife photography. And the videos are also very inspiring for your own RUclips videos, because it's not as easy as you think... 😂 I speak from my own experience. I like the shots of the bison the most. They are just fascinating and majestic animals! The park is really a great nature reserve. If I have the opportunity and the money, I definitely have to go there! Keep up the good work, and I'm really looking forward to the next episode 👍🏼 Greetings from Germany
Hi Max, your words are 100% true! Mortens videos are so nice to enjoy! Ps. Your channel, Max, is also great. I think it's important to support young wildlife photographers as you too. I subscribed! 😉 Keep up the good work and maybe, you Morten, can recommend Max. I think it would make him really happy!
@@wildlifenature4435 Yes, I think that would really help Max a lot if Morten recommends him! I also think he is a super young photographer who deserves more attention. Maybe you, Morten, can do an Instagram Story or a community post introducing Max 😉👍🏼
Howdy Morten, been following you for a few years. Welcome to Yellowstone, I've lived here for 12 years but recently just retired and will be traveling the country in a RV full-time. Yellowstone got me hooked on wildlife photography and then I started watching RUclips for tips and found you. It's been a really mild winter this year with too little snow and warmer temps. There is a huge photographer community in the Park and I hope you got to meet some of them. Wolves have been in view a lot this winter, hope you found a few.
What a wonderful way to spend my morning with a fabulous person and nature. I’m truly inspired. I have to search your sites to see what cold weather gear you use. Time to dust off the checkbook! Thank you for a great video.
Absolutely made our evening when we were sitting down to dinner and got the notification you had uploaded a new video Morten. We got the washing up done quickly and have just sat down and as always, thoroughly enjoyed another inspiring episode which was the highlight of our evening. Thank you for your fantastic work. Really looking forward to episode 2.
Hi Morten! Great video as always! But I thought Nikon would give you a chance to use the new Z 400mm 2.8. Can't wait to see some pics with that lens! I'm really enjoying your Silence of the North book! Cheers!

Starts off great like the usual Morten Hilmer video, but then at 21:30 it kicks up into another gear. The buffalo images are absolutely stunning and closer than usual.

Hi Hilmer. You are a great traveler and photographer! Thanks for your video!
Thanks for this lovely peaceful content.
Thats right in my backyard. Been all over that country in and out of the park. More country around there than you could see in a lifetime.
