Hey Cedar Fair Limited: We still need rides like this!!! Families with small kids & elderly family members appreciated this. As nostalgia goes, people with history in the park needed this. For folks who wanted a slow, relaxing portion of the day, they looked forward to this. For those fans of park theming & design, we liked it. It’s awful that Cedar Fair eliminate so many things that hold the MAGIC of Cedar Point.
Where i first heard "what do you call a boomerang that doesn't come back?.....A stick"! This was a great ride and the park needs to continue with these types of activities for your day in the park. i loved this way back when the millenium, mantis, maverick etc. didn't exist. (the view was much better then). I was sorry to see this go.
AFTER ALL THESE YEARS OF REMEMBERING THIS I FINALLY FOUND OUT THAT MY MEMORIES WERE REAL!!!!!!!!! Those gunshots used to scare the DAYLIGHTS out of me!! Also love to see Shoot the Rapids in the background...probably breaking down again lol
What really makes it even lousier at Cedar Point is that our kids have seen the animated dinosaurs at the Cleveland Zoo several years in a row and gotten bored with them and now they lost a favorite ride to more animated dinosaurs.
I remember going on it as a kid early 80s, "wooden bullets so they wouldn't hurt" is the only joke I remember. It seemed a lot more woodsy back then as well, as a lot of new coasters have been added.
Great video. I think it looks a lot better than the Mark Twain attraction that they have running at Disneyland. I really like the jokes they did. It really is sad that the current generation will not be able to see attractions like the Paddlewheel Excursions (I haven't been to Cedar Point yet but I would rather go on this than see Dinosaurs Alive).
I agree with everyone that saids Dinosaurs Alive was a stupid move on Cedar Point's part. They should have never got rid of this great ride, that it will be great shame to never see this ride after not being to this park for fourteen years, and that Cleveland has the same thing I have seen it. Anyway great video Bob one of my favorites.
I love the way you shot the coaster in the fog at 4:41. Very funny captain talking about standing up on the coaster after standing all day long in the park. The park does an amazing job on the different figures/scenery that you see along the Paddlewheel route. I think I would have enjoyed this very much. Wow, incredible footage at 11:14. You did a superb job here Bob. Rob/Boston
4:35 If you look to your right you'll see the people on Cedar Creek Mine ride with their hands in the air screaming in anticipatin of a THREE FOOT DROP...don't...they...look...dumb...LOL I forget what year that one was, but it was one of my favorites.
@PWXcptcrunch I did a video on the Winnebago Paddlewheel Tours in July, but other than that, nothing...maybe some incidental footage of a PWX boat while filming Dragster, but nothing even close to what I shot Labor Day.
Who with any sense is going to pay $5 to see animaltronic dinosaurs at a mainly roller coaster and thrill ride park.At least Dollywood doesn`t make bad desicons.
thank you for another good video coaster bob and it pains me to see this ride go because not only did this go but my favorite walkthrough went away Terror Island but Cut Throat Cove is still good but i think it was better in the trees and in the forest i really believe they'll get rid of dinosaur alive in 2014-15 off season and bring these back i know nobody else believes it but i am faithful that this will happen if you ever stop believing in something just don't stop believing.
