When the strobe was shown, I was thinking that was going to be a deal-breaker, but then the option was mentioned and I was completely on board again! I was actually thinking of building something like this with a red/white dual-color LED bulb replacement unit (if I could even find one) and a relay (to keep the red and white from lighting up at the same time) but this eliminates all that work and is certainly going to look and perform better than what I had in mind.

looking at your hitch light but instead of the vehicle, I am thinking of putting it in my trailer hitch. The trailer did not come with reverse lights so I am wondering whether I can connect the harness to trailer's plug and then have it connect to the 7pin of the vehicle. Then I can carry the wiring for the hitch to the back of the trailer. Let me know what you think and if that will work.

@@diodedynamics yup I have an email in since last week. Figured with the holidays there might be a delay. Just waiting for a response :)
Really really nice!! I would like to put it on the upper hitch mount of a double hitch, I'm pretty sure I need a cable extension, is that possible?
Yes that is possible! You should have enough wiring to fit it a little bit higher, if not we also offer a DT extension harness!
@@diodedynamics thank you!!!
How about security? If it snaps on and off that quick what deters individuals from just snapping it right off?
Great question! Interested in adding extra security to your new HitchMount LED Pod? We just released a new video addressing this using a locking receiver pin.

What if we have LOF with t harness installed. Will this still work
I have a 23 atlas cross sport. Doesn’t look like I’ll have room to install the wiring harness. Has anyone done this to the VW?
Will you guys make this available for a Crosstrek? I think it has a 4-pin instead of a 7-pin.
It’s be really cool to have a brake light like the STis do
Our engineers are currently working on a possible solution for the future!
I have the C1 for my 2022 Raptor but it will disable all the safety back up and sensors since the vehicle thinks it’s linked to a trailer.
I pulled mine out because I wouldn’t trade the safety sensors for an additional back up light.
I will probably just keep it and maybe install in as needed basis.
Same
For gen 2, thinks trailer is attached. I’ve been told a “fix” is coming …
Wanna sell it?
Got the new wire harness and still says trailer hooked up
@@zekebarbosa5428has it been fixed?
Not yet still waiting
Can this work with Tesla Model Y tow hitch?
If it has a 7-pin trailer harness and a 2" trailer hitch, yes, It should!
Could that wiring connector be used to power a pair of ssc2’s?
They sell the same in-line connector for dual output, so yes
@@feuerwood for a pair, he would just need a Y harness
buying one of these for my tacoma 2014 reg cab !
Love to hear that! Thank you for the support!
did it work
Do you have any amber bulbs or pods that would work in the new Silverado ZR2?
Fog lights, that is
Unfortunately, we do not have anything yet for the ZR2. We do have universal brackets that would work anywhere you want them to go, with a little bit of custom work. We can relay that to our engineers for future consideration on developing plug-and-play options for the ZR2!
Thanks for the response. I would definitely be interested in the plug and play fogs
Is there a way to wire in a toggle switch also so I can turn it on when hooking up a trailer?
Probably just test which wire triggers backup white light and tap in. I did this with some other rear bumper floods and just connected the power wire from the pods to my reverse lights and also a switch. Should be pretty simple.
you wont be able to use this, and a hitch at the same time, unless you have some double hitch setup
@@ShadowDragon246 No I know, you would have to pull it out and set it on the bumper or something I suppose, but more or less if you were even doing work behind the truck you could use it as a utility light.. That was more or less my point in asking about a separate switch..
Not sure about this product, but along similar lines there is a cheap product called Blazer International C8020 on Amazon. Plugs into the 7-pin and acts as a reverse light while also having a switch to allow for general use when parking lights on the vehicle are on.
They actually don’t have these available. If you order one get ready for a long wait.
Due to the high demand, yes, they are backordered for a while for new orders. It'll be well worth the wait!
@@diodedynamics would make sense but I preordered

No plans for a 4-pin connector at this time but we've shared this popular request with our engineering team!
@@diodedynamics you would sell the heck out of these to the Jeep crowd! Just release one without the round wiring adapter, give extra length of wire to fish up into taillight pocket area and include wiring diagram
Does this make the trailer detection on newer trucks active or no?
It does depend on the year, make and model of your truck. We are currently working on a universal solution if this issue does arise, however at this time, Putco does make a harness that fixes the issue if you do need it asap!
Hi, yes, it does! I'm having trouble with getting it to go off. I have a king ranch, and it keeps telling me to disconnect the trailer and that the blind spot monitors don't work. So I'm thinking of sending it back

@@diodedynamics what safety systems does it affect more information would be appreciated
@@diodedynamics I want to know what will happen if I put this on a 2022 Chevy Colorado.
@@tedbeach4766 Newer trucks typically come standard with trailer safety warnings that pop up if something happens to your trailer. In this instance we are drawing current from the 7-pin, triggering a loss of current, which pops a message up on your HUD. This company has awful CS if you have an issue with their hitch lights. I was on the original pre-order list. Got my hitch light in December and it's been a non-working unit since. They sent out a different harness to try and it did nothing. Their CS is basically "send it back if you don't like it". Now they are having a spring sale with a percentage off of these lights. I've asked to be refunded this amount while waiting on a fix for the lights harness to get it to work with my truck. I've gotten no replies. I've sent emails on the 7th and the 15th with zero response. DO NOT ORDER THEIR HITCH LIGHTS if you have an F150, they are a gamble and many are having issues that are going unresolved.
Hey there! We are working on a solution so that all trucks and newer vehicles can use this kit! Stay tuned!
