Thank you for posting all of John Mayall classic albums. I am proud and happy to know that there are people who are still listening to this God Father Of British Blues. I have the albums in Vinyl and Cassettes. We don't have CDs in those days. Been listening to John Mayall since 1964/65. I will be 62 years old on this coming 26th May 2014. I am a Chinese, born and bred in a tiny island called Singapore. You see, the great John Mayall is adored even by people who are thousands of kilometres away from his homeland. RIP JM ... Blues 4 EVER.
John Mayall is one of the most influencial and important contributors to the British Blues scene. Surely he is the Godfather of the British blues movement! Eric Clapton owes him his SOUL and nothing less.
+FuckYouWhosNext I couldn't agree more, I could try, but no....thanks for this great collection. Love the solo on the first track. Must be very early, Bernie Watson? I love the production on the early Mayall stuff. Raw, live, on the edge. He was so influential on the whole scene yet rarely gets a mention.
Not to mention Mick Taylor, Peter Green, Harvey Mandel, Sonny Landreth, Walter Trout, Jon Mark, John McVie, Jack Bruce, Larry Taylor, Keef Hartly, Mick Fleetwood, Ainsley Dunbar, Paul Butterfield, Sugarcane Harris, John Almond, and Dr. John to name but a few more!
You forgot Freddie Robinson (also known as Abu Talib), a briliant guitar player, who inspired Mayall into jazz-blues fusion and unfortunately died 2009.
Bonjour, Oui, tu as raison. That’s Bernie Watson a-playin’ on « Crawling up a hill ». _ (version one) : recorded in March 1964 - musicians : J. Mayall: vocal, harmonica, organ - Bernie Watson : guitar - John McVie : bass guitar - Martin Hart : drums. _ (version two) : recorded on April 20, 1964 : same musicians _ (version three) : recorded on December 7, 1964 - musicians : J. Mayall: vocal, harmonica, cembalett, organ, 9 string guitar - Roger Dean : guitar - John McVie : bass guitar - Hughie Flint : drums.@@AnthonyMonaghan
Bonjour, peux-tu me confirmer que tu ne fais pas erreur en nommant : David O'List et Keith Emerson, musiciens du groupe : the Nice ayant fait partie du personnel de J. Mayall ? Merci. * * Hello, can ye confirm tae me that thou art nae mistaken in naming : David O'List and Keith Emerson, musicians of the group : the Nice who wert part o' J. Mayall's staff ? Thanks.
The Golden Age the blues bands, coming from the beery London pubs, venues and studios. Appreciated back then as it still is today. Thanks to all, we have this now.
A true Master- simply a honest to gawd natchal Bluesman 🔥 I consider him one of the last few carrying the magic flame from southern fields to northern cities. Muddy, Johnny Winter, Wolf and Dixon, Etta and Slim will all sit with you now at that great gig in the sky 🙌🏾 Bless you John for so much soul and music
I remember his lyrics. Sitting over here on parchment farm. Ain't never done no man no harm.all I did was to pull my kmife ,all i 5:09 did was kill my wife. Standard blues, also, a"nother man done gone "I didn't know his name, another man done gone, on the county farm.
John Mayall no longer lives here, he moved to another place together with BB KING and other great Bluesists have formed the Cosmic Blues Band. Unforgettable John Mayall!!
I read the song list published below, but since it was not correct, I think it useful to post the right one. The Album is "London Blues: 1964-1969" Disc: 1 1. Crawling Up A Hill 2. My Baby Is Sweeter 3. Crocodile Walk 4. Blues City Shakedown 5. I'm Your Witchdoctor 6. Telephone Blues 7. Bernard Jenkins 8. All Your Love 9. Double Crossing Time 10. Key To Love 11. Parchman Farm 12. Looking Back 13. So Many Roads 14. Sitting in the Rain. 15. A Hard Road 16. Dust My Blues 17. The Super-Natural 18. Another Kinda Love. 19. Leaping Christine 20. I heard tell, that back in the early ‘60’s those younger future English Blues men used to swap “race records” from “across the pond”, & get together & copy lead blues licks, @ that’s how it all began! Later on, the started the bands that earned them their fame & fortion.
Just Love John Mayall. Had this on vinyl at one time but lost it at a party!! Too good of an album to think it would not be stolen! Thank you for sharing this classic with us who remember John!
Thanks for sharing this gem! Just scored tickets to see John Mayall at the Belly Up in Solana Beach, CA next month!!! Sweet little venue-will be a most excellent show... Cheers
19 6 5 _______ 1 9 7 5 LOT Of People worked well then , and R Still going Strong , Who do u think will be going strong 50 years from the 80 "s or beyond . Name your top 5 . jus taking a small poll .
Well again...thank you so kindly for this deeelicious educational, healing historic document of 20th century folk art music - which NEEDS TO REMAIN available for all. Hell, I'll even suck as many RUclips enforcement cocks as needed to keep this creative work posted.
These were not live tracks from '69. The tracks featuring Eric Clapton are from the L.P John Mayall with Eric Clapton released in 1966. Peter Green is also featured on some of the tracks from Hard Rd. Recorded after Eric Clapton had left John Mayall in 1966.
HOLY CRAP!!! I mistook Hard Road for Another Kind... So - no doubt - I'm in need of another towel please. 50:12 set more river down me thigh. Ok...another question...Just To Be With You...is that Mayall & Green as well?

Saw him play in Providence, RI in 1995. They had a rental truck & carried in all their own equipment. It was a great show!
Many musicians passed through Mayall's school...Eric Clapton,Peter Green,Mick Taylor,David O'List,Keith Emerson,Keef Hartley..and many others.
