Yes, a legend. How's the quality line up for this gig? I think Buddy Whittington , and Mick Taylor were the standout guitarists in his band, but over the journey, however, the list is a formidable one. Clapton, Green, Trout, Montoya, etc who is yours? Coco was good!!
I was there!! I had no idea they recorded it! I remember McVie getting pissed cuz his bass didn't sound right or something and he threw it in the ground and stormed off the stage! One of the black dudes stepped in. I'm so saddened by his death but thrilled this is out here!! RIP John!!
@billhorstkamp98 Iam in complete agreement with you. Jimmy Page is a much better overall guitarist. As far as pure blues, I feel Peter Green was superior only in that aspect. Thanks for the reply
Had the privilege to see John and the Bluesbreakers on a package show in Atlanta in 1988, in support of their "Chicago Line" release. The franchise always featured GREAT guitarists (of course), and that evening added two more to my musical consciousness in the forms of Walter Trout and Coco Montoya. Great show, great performers and great memories. Mr. Mayall is the undeniable Father of British Blues, and now has "room to move". Rest in peace John, and thank you.
Very classy and professional how he handled the sound issue at the start. Didn’t phase him at all and didn’t start sweating at the sound man like some rock divas I’ve seen. Completely pro, took the pause to introduce the band.
Mayall knew talent. Mick Taylor no exception. Keith Richards was a fool. And John McVie. This cat played with Mayall, Clapton, Taylor and then with Green, Spenser and Kirwan.
RIP John Mayall. I had the fortunate experience to meet him in 2019 and he was so nice and humble. I'll never forget what an amazing musician and person he was!
Wasn't he though ? They often say, you should not meet your heroes. But not John, he even apologized for having to get back to the Bluesbreaker's sound check.Anyone else would not have given me the time of day.
I am an old drummer ❤while a student and playing in a R+roll band in clubs. I was introduced to JohnMayall and his blues brakers from a dear girl friend from Cambridge, Wendy bless your soul, plussing to my dear Poul and the Beatles, Mick and Ringo and all my dear ones, John was in different level may God bless his Soul
I'm seriously saying that, my neighbors aren't blues type of people, yet when i listen to this late night, they never complain. True music never discomforts. Pure tunes of blues, heavenly but hell damn good at the same time. VIVA LA JOHN MAYALL & BLUESBREAKERS
@@mdpocoroba Does it make him better? Or more important as an blues artist? Think not , so why the hall of shame than? It's all about record sale/money who comes there , Mayall stands way above that politics shit.
I think even if you don’t like this music watching Johns enthusiasm and joy for what he does is so contagious, I’m sat here with such a smile on my face feeling like I was there
Amazing, playing the organ, and other times the quitar whilst playing the mouth organ together with true class. Rest in gods peace Sir John Mayall. A true blues guru.
A man came into the gallery and said someone told him I might have an amp he could borrow because the airline had lost one of his and he had a gig across the street at Casa Novas in Makawao. I said sure and loaned him a brand new Peavey 15" and he told me and my friends to come over and enjoy the show. It was John Mayall and he gave us a stagefront table, drinks on the band and a wonderful show. An unforgettable night.
John was part of the 60s excitement and he introduced the blues to a whole bunch of young white kids. He also spawned some great musicians like McVie, Clapton, and Mick Taylor. He's still going strong in his 80s. So glad I got to see him a few years ago at the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall in FL.
Wow! I grew up in Passaic in the 80's, and walking distance to the Capitol Theatre. Too bad I couldn't appreciate good music back then. I was stuck listening to hair bands. Wish I knew then what I know now.
Amazing show! I've discovered John Mayall 50 years ago with the "Turning Point" and since then I love his great music and his dedication for THE BLUES!

Foi muito bom! Bons tempos. Valeu a postagem na íntegra. Forte abraço do Sul do Brasil.

I love it since long long years ... and here with guests Buddy Guy & Junior Wells ... Its such a great concert 1982 ... and such wonderful "old" Bluesbrakers from the beginnings!!!!

Mick Taylor on Guitar from about 10 minutes in , just mind blowing 🎸🎶

Mick is one of the most incredible but under appreciated guitarists of all time! and he grew up only 10 mins down the road from me which is cool

And still no Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for John Mayall. What a shame.
even though Mayall can rock dem blues - blues isn't rock 'n roll
The Blues had a baby . . .
They named it ROCKNROLL !
