Hi Big John, sad news of your passing, we will miss your concerts, your innate ability to discover new talents, but you left us a musical heritage that in these days and following we will know to listen, appreciate and preserve with absolute jealousy as if they were precious jewels. May you rest in peace, thank you for everything, we love you so much 😭🫂❤🎸🎹
I saw the legend on stage by a birthday present of my friends Anne, Willi, Annette and Holger at Osnabrück Germany, when John was above his 80th Thank you All! Brillant like in his (and our) youth🎸🎼💪🏿🤗
This represents everything of my generation, so the tears fall! God bless you John Mayall for paving the for so many trying to make their way. You were and always be an Icon in the music industry for being just who you were and nobody else! You were am Angel amongst us by far!
His Hands the size of a baseball mitt. It’s where Rock got its bends. Hendrix Page Taylor SRV Clapton and so on and On. He is King of Our House. Our Neighbors as well. Like it or not..
I was there that night and, later on at the Catalyst in Santa Cruz, I had a chance to ask Mr Mayall about the identity of one of the awesome women singers he'd had on that night, "Etta James." John McVie was so drunk he had to bow out mid set, much to the amusement of his friends. Mick Taylor and Buddy Guy blew my mind, and still do. Albert king was legendary.... what a night for an aspiring guitar slinger... Blues Heaven! Thanks for the introductions, John.
Fantastic tour and album. So great there's footage of jams with Etta James and Albert King . That must have been a kind of heaven for Mick Taylor. Sure sounds like it.
Rock on mais Ami! From Cleveland Ohio, home of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and more incredible concerts I’ve seen in the past 50 some years starting with B.B. @ Cleveland Arena in ‘72 when 13 until Steve Earle next week at 65. Music keeps us forever young, running with the pack, and ballin’ that jack! 🦊🖤🐾☕️🚬🎶🎼🪘🪇
I meet john over 20 times during the years, and in the end it seemed pretty obvious that he was lojal to his fans and the blues. Maybe one the biggest blues artists ever lived
I was at this concert with my best friend who wanted to turn me on to JM and Mick Taylor. Very interesting concert. They filmed this for MTV but couldn’t use it because of McVie’s antics and poor sound quality. That being said, wow what a lineup. Glad this was posted. Thanks.
Get some positive energy tuff energy tuff love and go all out and achieve your goal and dreams the hell with what others think ,,,,, who's life is it🎸🌳🤠😇🙏
This blows my mind. In 1969 I went to a place called the Rose Palace in Pasadena to see Deep Purple, Albert King and the Bluesbreakers in that order. Mick Taylor on his last BB tour before the Stones. No seats, one buck to get in. Every band was superb and when (John remembers) Mick takes off on Parchman Farm we all, as blues fans, were transported to a very fine universe as the Bluesbreakers tore the roof offa the sucka. Concert seating! Sawdust! Weed!
@@christopherwilliams7799 - then why do I feel like a weepy child? Seriously thank you for the reminder. I used to babysit John Mayall's little boy somewhere in the nineties. Dude's still alive, by cracky.
I saw this Lineup of the Bluesbreakers , multiple times. The Best one was at the PARK WEST , in Lincoln Park, Chicago. An intimate venue, where we sat at Tables, and had a Waitress, bringing Cocktails, all night
Monroe St - a lovely neighborhood? I lived on Hope Ave and grew up being told to stay away from Monroe St. But it still didn't keep me from going to the Capitol Theater.
Saw John Mayall many times , one Top night was when Mick Taylor guested on a handful of songs with Buddy Whittington. That was at London's Jazz Cafe.. superb magical blues evening 🎸🎸
Beautiful to hear the personality of these greats shining through loud and clear through their respective instruments. Not enough is said of the great Hubert Sumlin! I love them all!
Just one set from what obviously was a great night in Passaic! Lots to like here, King, James, Guy, Sumlin, Wallace, Wells, AND the Bluesbreakers! One of Mayall's best line ups, Taylor, McVie, and Allen (who gets too little notice). Always had good shows, Mayall, this is some of the cream. /:-)
Just a slight comment on my part,... At the end of Born Under a Bad Sign Albert King leaves the stage and at the 37:35 mark Mick Taylor starts to "let loose" but then Albert King comes back on stage and Mick discontinues what he was going to do. I have a good feeling that some real REAL GOOD NOTES was going to be played,.... BUT.... we could only imagine. : )
RIP to one of the greats - the godfather of British Blues passed today, age 90.
May god bless his soul, Lived long and brought lots of beauty to this miserable world...
RIP John Mayell the King of British Blues.
Amen to that brother!
Mick Taylor's vibrato and slide are the most beautiful in the world
I saw John Mayall and Albert King, and another great for 3 bucks. Mayall and the Bluesbreakers were rocking the roof off the house.
He came out of nowhere, sitting in the background. front of stage performers can't touch the unseen talents of this genius.

So glad to see the great Mick Taylor get some camera time.
So sad that Albert King, Hubert Sumlin, Sippie Wallace and Etta James are gone.
Not to mention Junior Wells!!!
Not as long as there are recordings such as this! But, yeah, they were great. /:-)
Super music
But their spirit is still here and im jammin with them right now
2024 may
And now John Mayall rip
You can be badass, but you will never be as badass as Albert King leaving the stage.
Mick Taylor is a virtuoso guitarist ....
And not bad on the keyboard, either. /:-)
