Hello. Love the longlines. I have used some of your ideas for my setup in NC. Just wanted to say thank you for some help you gave me 2 years ago. I asked for some pictures of your longline reel. You sent them and even did a video. I just installed my reel on my boat today. Although a good bit smaller, I'm catfishing, I used your level wind setup to run my mono lines. It works perfectly in the yard. Seatrials are tomorrow. Thank you so much for your help! God bless and good luck from NC!
Always cool to watch you do what i did 40 years ago lol, grew up on kodiak, dad opened airport in 67,and parents even served as kodiak baptist mission receiving home parents.went to main, then east elementary etc, fished halibut, salmon and M/V Patricia Lee in bering sea for king crab.,joined uscg at 23 and stationed on kodiak 2 times, great place, also sitka, ketchikan, juneau.
Hi how come you don't keep the octopus don't you have any greek people they will buy from you i cray when you throw them back Con
I like the overhead view that way I can see in the water
..that was a badass set of mr flattys............
First set was real nice quality. Great job
The view from the front looking at the water ain’t bad we can hear better- thanks
For sure, thanks for the feedback!
We should have ordered some halibut but we are too late.
I wasnt aware ya had to tenderize em too lol
Happy New Year! Keep up the good work.
What type of knot do you tie the weights to the line?
Hello form Mississippi
Nice haul or nice editing...or both. Matt's new name "One Shot". You going to have a crab season this year?
Yes indeed! Tanner crab season opens Jan 15th!
Interested in ordering rockfish
What time of year do you expect them to be available?
Early next year, ideally February. But we’ll have an announcement once its that time. Thanks tmoss!
You can see it better now
The back bending part of hooking the fish is the hardest part, is there any way to design a lowering platform nearer to the surface of the water? I am just thinking out loud. Thank you again.
Nah I think not, tony. We’re pretty much bound by our deck height.
Just started watching a couple of weeks ag0. Love the show. Watch it about 3 hours a night Have just about watched all the episodes. When will there be more. Will be ordering some fish at a later date. Keep up the good work
Glad you enjoy it! Thanks a bunch for your support!
Looks like you found a honey hole on car door size halibut nice job. They aren't Barn door but still nice catch.

Very best job guys,

One thing about wearing those rain suits you won't have to worry about crack shots that joke just came to my mind
thank you I enjoyed the ride had a few nice ones see ya later😺
Glad you enjoyed it!
Nice one, so what's next guys a bit more work on the other ship?
We’re still going nonstop, hopefully be fishing her soon!
Sweet boys., BTW. When is tanner crab start?
Jan 15 it opens! Coming soon!
Nice catch
Doing a good job but looking forward to fishing on new boat
You and me both! We’re chugging away on her. Either way it goes we’ll have an update soon.
Happy new year to you guys, I always enjoy watching your videos.
One question: is the bait floating couple of feet above the ground or is it sinking all the way to the bottom of the sea?
Greetings from Zurich, Switzerland
I have to pause this, and see if I can order some from you!
Ok! I registered! I’m. Ordering next paycheck.
Guessing you're out fishin and bringing in the catch. Jonesin for a new video! :D Stay safe boys.
Do you guys have a black cod permit (IFQ) I see there fairly cheap up there. What are buyers paying for halibut? Enjoy all your videos and is your plan to use both boats or sale one.
Nah, no black cod. Maybe someday. We’re going to fish both, not side by side but depending whats going on we can do different fisheries without as much gear shuffling.
@@EISAlaska would you mind saying how much money you have in costs if all the new upgrades in new boat?
I always enjoy your videos that show real fishermen's hard work. So keep them coming and thank you.
If bait is as expensive as you say, and it's only had one soak, but it's still firm enough to stay on a hook.
Then why not put it in a vacuum pot full of fish juices, and put the oils and odor factor back into it, and reuse it at least once more?
Surely something could be devised to force the meat to take the moisture back into it, as to whether it requires a pressure system, or a vacuum system shouldn't be hard to figure out which is more effective at this process, and over a months time would easily return any expenses used to fabricate such a device.
And the time used to work through the process shouldn't be any greater than chopping up the bait.
Plus it's very possible that you could leave it attached to the hook as you remove it from the main line, and just drop whole rig into a container used to process it the second time.
Thus saving time and money which is a major benefit in multiple ways I'd think.
A vacuum pump is easily available, as is the hydraulic power for a pressure system whichever turns out to most effective at the process.
Just a thought looking from the outside at possible ways to improve efficiency, and save money both.
I've always been one to avoid getting caught by following what has been the way everyone has always done things, and to think outside the box so to speak.
Always looking for ways to improve my skills and knowledge above the average person in my trade, and pass it onto those working with me to improve crew as a team thus increasing efficiency all the way around.
What's largest barn door y'all have gotten aboard long lining?
How about you go up one level and tell how much you sell the fish and crabs for. Anybody can catch fish on a long line. It's starting to get boring. Ho-hum.
3:45- BIG BOY ! " Good Job Matt " ... " Nice Dad " Golden stuff for us fans ... Love seeing you catching them ! Happy New Year Guys and Mom !
That was a great first set. I love that overhead camera angle. We can see the monsters come to the surface from the depths.
Gonna have to drop the brawlers/totes right down in the hold on the Isle I would imagine as it's so much deeper hold.
i have a question (either hear or video) whats the size of the main line and snaps u use. I'm not any competition in your waters I wanna try it out in uk waters please help. going after cod mostly.
i see some fish are smaller compared to past years. Has the law changed to allow smaller size fish?
Great job guys keep the videos coming and stay safe out there.
Do your feet stay warm & dry as you stand on the ice unloading fish ?
You know for 1 year I thought you two were brothers😂
Nice to see those first ones! Couple biggies. Good way to start the new year 🎉
what is the longest halibut that you have caught
Great haul of buts!!
Thanks! Not a bad day.
You guys work so well together. Its impressive.. Great videos Thanks
Thank you very much! We appreciate it.

Thanks!
It's always good to see you guys catch fish especially the big ones. Great video.
Thanks, Larry!
Matt redeems himself at the rail with a one shot gaff...I guess he can stay another season. Love the content and waiting for Tanner crab season to see some content from the Emerald Isle.
Haha thanks burgess!
Some really nice fish!! How did the big one measure out?
I can’t remember exactly, but looks to be in the 50 incher range. Thanks for tuning in, Barbara!
Very nice looking fish
Keeper Octopus!
Those were some big fish I’m looking forward to a great season stay safe my friends
Thank you, John!
Finland TERVE😊👍👍👍
Those are some very nice fish. Glad you caught your quota. It is also good to see you three men working together. I hope 2024 is a banner season for the family. Happy New Year!
Thanks, Phil! We do love the big butts.
@EISAlaska man, yall need some higher rails and longer gaffs flirting with disaster leaning over so far an rail so low . Stay safe keep the videos coming
We’re all waiting for a halibut to jump back in the water over that low rail🤪
Nice fishing. Does Alaska ever check catches out on the open water or at the dock?
Awesome guys
Love your content, just fishing! Have you done a video on how you attach the clips to the line? It looks
like they just pop right off? I’d love to see how you attach and detach them,
maybe a close-up look?
Thanks.
Matt and Len are always sharing how and why they do things while fishing ... a few weeks back they showed how the clips and Bazooka tube work on the long line. It can be really fun rolling back on the episodes, working on the boats and crab fishing are VERY cool to watch too ... Just great real stuff to watch and enjoy :)
So nice to see you today Happy new year.
Good to see.
