Ted, My thoughts are with you. It so difficult to go through these experiences. It never gets easy to make the right decision. You are not alone. Take care of yourself.
(cont) A few months ago, I was told she was in early renal failure - lots of tears and hugs that day! I can't imagine how hard it will be to say my final goodbyes to her (crying again now!). Honestly, I wish I could ease your pain. Just know I care, and am wishing you the very best. Also, I'm glad you posted this. Now I'm off to get string cheese for my baby girl. Sincerely, Jennifer 🙏
I love my dog and she is turning 14 this year. I can't imagine having to go through that loss. You do become very attached and they become a part of your family. My heart goes out.
Thanks for the update Ted, I already commented on flickr about how sad I was to hear this. Hope the info about feline diabetes helps someone out there. Looking forward to hearing the next installment to the artofphotography when you are ready.
Sorry to hear of your loss. I has a cat, p.c. For many years and it was tough to let him go, probably waited too long. Hang in there...really been enjoying you videos .
Really sad news. But, word has it that the Great Litter Box in the sky is simply awesome ;-) Keep the faith Ted, lots of people out there projecting a lot of good mojo your way!!
Ted, condolences, the sense of loss is huge, but, those of us whom have lost a pet support you and look forward to seeing you via your Vlog. Be well my Friend, my thoughts are with you.
Ted, I am sooooooo so sorry for your loss. Words can't convey how sad I am for you. I was crying during portions of this video, as I thought of losing my own sweet sweet kitty, Pele. I fell in love with her 17 yrs ago, and she's been there for me during all the important adult life experiences.
Photography is about feelings, too ... so, yeah, that really was the Art Of Photography. I can feel you.I lost my dog last year. She was in the family for more that 13 years and had been fighting with diabetes for about 4 years. And that's a lot !!! Honey did help but u know, sometimes it's just not enough. So, there is no reason to blame yourself ! After all, everyone 's got to "go home" sometime ... and that's tough. Take good care, we ll all be here !!
Really sorry for your loss Ted. It is never easy to have to say good bye to a friend, pet or other. I will have a good thought for you and your family during this difficult time.
I am so sorry to learn about your cat, I was hoping to hear better news today, I went to hug Misu (my cat), he is a rescued cat with a bad leg, and cant imagine how I would feel if he leaves us (more like when he leave our home). I really feel your pain, but Is good to know that Fenley (?) is no longer in pain and I am sure he had a wonderful life next to you. Thank you for sharing your feelings
Hugs to you Ted. So sorry to hear. Maggie our cavoodle is playing with her extra treat ball right now in memory of Finlay. Take your time. We'll all still be here when you're ready.
I'm really sorry to hear that it turned out this way... I've seen the previous video just before this one and I started adding a comment there, then noticed the title of the new one in another tab ... You must not blame yourself for sure, you didn't spend years studying veterinary and you are not a specialist in medical treatment. Your care and attention gave Finley many happy moments he wouldn't get without you being there for that whole time of his illness.
Sorry to hear about your cat, our cat had to be put to sleep some years ago due to illness, I still miss him. I know how you must be feeling right now.
If you lose someone you love, a piece of your soul goes with him or her. And we are all Gods children, no matter if we walk on two or four legs. Your Finlay is happy now, my dear. And (hopefully many) years from now, you will see him again ... and anybody else, you've lost in your life. I don't know you, I even subscribed to your channel only a few weeks ago, but I am feeling with you. Big hug to you.
Ted - Its always sad when we lose a pet because we love them, they're part of our lives and family. Your pain is your loss of Finley, but you're right, he's gone to a good place, you can be sure of that. Our sensitivity is an emotion which enables us to 'make pictures'. The downside of being sensitive is situations like this. You have my condolences.
I couldn't watch this whole video because I know first hand what diabetes does to a body (my body). It's sad that we have to go through these things. I am only 39 and have so many issues from this disease. I hate to even discuss it sometimes because so many people don't understand it or what you go through. I am Sorry for your loss.
Don't blame yourself for a second, Ted. I, too, lost my Rosi dog a few years back. When she was young her sister, Roxi, got hit by a car and didn't make it. And few days later Rosi got hit by a car braking both back legs, but she survived. It took her a year to walk again and as time passed she began to be able to actually run again. I remember the last time I saw her. A few days later she was seen walking off into the woods and no one ever saw her again. So I feel your pain brother. Take care.
Sorry about your cat, Ted... wish I had some words to say, but I got none. I know how hard it is to lose a pet, and it's not as trivial as non pet owners might think. Many condolenses
Making the decision to put my dog, Blaze, to sleep was one of the hardest things I've had to do. I still get emotional thinking about it. As caregivers for our pets, we need to make hard decisions for their well-being and comfort. These decisions need to be balanced with our love for and attachment to our little friends. Know that you made the right call, and I think Finley would agree. My thoughts are with you and Finley. My current dog, Bravo, will get a big hug and an extra treat tonight.
ps Would you mind posting a slideshow of your photos of Finley? I bet I'm not the only one who'd love to see your best friend. It also might be therapeutic for you.
Ted.... I shared with you the loss of my son Devon from cancer in 2009. I held his hand while he slipped away. I tell people that not for sympathy but to TRY and wake them up. We all tend to take people or pets for granted. Like they will always be there. There is always time. But that is just not true. We and they are only here for a little while..let those people, pets know you love them every day. We never know if what we said to them that day was the last thing we could say. Be well.
I don't know Ted, I think it was pretty photographic. Not all portraits are images of people. Sometimes there are portraits of souls; and those types of portraits need to move. MUST move, to express the depth and colour of the subject. If I were asked to title this video, it would be simply: "Portrait Of A Man" by Ted Forbes If the measure of a man is the positive impact he has on the life, and minds of the people around him, then you sir are posessed of a soul that is truely immeasureable.
Hi lost my father 13years ago and everyday it still hurts sincerest condolences have a tweek at my you tube vid tony Wilson's grave southern vemetary Manchester UK once deepest condolences.
Ted I'm sorry for your loss.As I write this my best friend Celeste "The Wonder Dog"is lying by my feet under the computer desk. She to will be getting an extra treat tonight in honor of Finlay. Her preference though is either Bacon,or a bully stick.
