    Greetings Ironman!
    I have an Isuzu Dmax 2023 4x2 I bought last year and I'm still using the stock leaf springs. My question is what would be a good modification with your product I can add to my Dmax?
    My line of business is Bigasan so I'm carrying about 20 to 30 sacks on a daily basis which weighs 25kg a sack. What I want to do is eventually is to add a canopy in the back and have more load capacity for my rice. What product of yours that you can recommend adding to my Dmax to achieve this?

    • @ironman4x4philippines20

      If you are loaded daily i would go with Add-A-Leaf for load. It will not give a lift and will be a bit stiff unloaded but give you excellent stability at load.

    I don't have a Toyota but I carry a lot of gear, I imagine the main incompatibility between leaf kits for different models of utes/pickups is the location of the bushes. Is there any reason why you couldn't take a couple of leafs of the same size or and stick them beneath your top leaf either on the primary or secondary?
    I've noticed some leaf packs have the same or almost the same length for some of the mid-leafs, can you add more leafs to this to stiffen the springs?
    If I were to do that would it be necessary to replace the shocks?
    Thanks in advance for any advice you can offer.

    • @ironman4x4philippines20
      @ironman4x4philippines20  3 года назад +2

      You can stack up your own leaf pack. Ypu can do this by adding more thin leaves. The problem will most pickups is the leafsprings sit on top of the axles, and adding more leafs increases rear height. If you buy an aftermarket leaf set, the curve of the springs is altered to give a uniform height. As for shocks,if the height increases, you might need longer travel shocks.

    Hello there, question for you. So I have a set of "medium" leaf packs that spec wise say +400lb/181kg constant weight. I have a 2011 double cab Tacoma that I use for work (detailing) and occasional off roading. With a fiberglass topper, 100lb invertor, and occasionally I'll have up to 50 gallons/189L of water. Should I upgrade to a heavier pack or would this be sufficient? Thanks in advance

    • @ironman4x4philippines20

    This is a very informative video. Sir I am new to cars and planning to buy an SUV (Montero Gen 3.5) for both family use and a little help in our small business. We usually go out once a month to pickup stuff from around 500-600 kgs, but that doesn't include passengers, so probably around 800kgs or even more. My concern is do we even need to upgrade parts like leaf springs, shocks, and suspension of the SUV given that scenario? If so, what will be the negative sides. We were originally eyeing on a Strada, however given the size of our family we also wanted one that can carry more people so we thought of Montero. Any reply sir I will greatly appreciate. Why do Ironman uses poly bushing for leaf springs while it uses rubber for shocks and arms

    • @ironman4x4philippines20
      @ironman4x4philippines20  2 года назад +1

      Poly is a good rotational bearing and it does not mind grease, hence the greasable shackles. This way you get less friction at the shackles. Poly is not good with flex and vibration dampening, but you dont want the shackles to flex, but you want the springs to flex.
      As for shocks, you have a lot of angle changes so rubber is better, plus it absorbs more vibration. Using Poly on shocks will give more side loading and bending forces the shocks causing premature seal wear.

      Usually the mistake is too stiff a coil. As a remedy they run the shocks on #1 setting, so they have no damping and you bounce around all the time. This is a common mistake here in Pinas.

    • @Senkino5o
      @Senkino5o 3 года назад +1

      Have you considered more than just your shocks and leafs?
      What tyres are you running? If you have lower profile tyres you will have less suspension and a stiffer ride. Tyres are part of your suspension (air/rubber spring).

    • @ironman4x4philippines20
      @ironman4x4philippines20  3 года назад

      @@Senkino5o good point. However, if you deflate the tires to soften them, you actually start the suspension movement at the tire and not the shock and spring. The bad thing is tires (air/rubber spring) are un-damped as they have nothing to stop them from bouncing around like a basketball. That is why softening the tire is a good thing up to a certain point, the point where they will not interfere with the shocks/spring ability to do their job. That is why offroad race trucks and rally cars run normal tire pressures, so the suspension can do its job properly.

    Sir, can i REMOVE the secondary so that when loaded with people it would NOT BE (1) TON SPRING? Would it be safe?

      If you just remove it without adding a thin leaf like our addALeaf, then it would be too soft and low.

      @@ironman4x4philippines20 Appreciate your quick response sir but I'm driving a PICK-UP Ford Ranger 2015 and I want to intentionally lower the back to level the truck. But if you are suggesting your addALeaf then I'm interested but WOULD IT DEPLETE my intention of LOWERING (EVEN) the back with the front @ the same time SOFTEN the ride when full more than 500KG of passenger load? Note: I'm using my truck for passengers BUT NOT loading heavy stuff.

      @@picolosantiago5392 no problem sir. We gave you a reply and I am sorry if you didnt understand it. REMOVING THE LEAF WITHOUT ADDING A THIN LEAF, IT WILL BE TOO SOFT AND SIT TOO LOW. I replied to you without selling you anything. I am sorry if you didnt understand it. Our addALeaf is a lift spring and if you read my reply 2 weeks ago, I never mentioned selling you the AddALeaf... I would appreciate a bit of respect... thanks.
