I’m so glad Liziqi is back and even more happy to see her here too. I always was wondering what people from China were thinking about her

@@KrasniyNosok from what I gathered, they love her for bringing to light traditional Chinese crafts, skills, stories and culture. As well as an escape from their everyday busy modern lives. I suppose similar to the reasons why her international fans watch her videos??

It was believed that the North Star (also known as the purple star in Chinese) was the location of heaven. So, as the son of heaven, the emperor’s residence on earth was called the Purple Forbidden City.

I've seen inexpensive examples of the inlay technique you describe, and it's beautiful. Also purple is well known across the Eurasian continent as symbolic of royalty, to the point where non royalty wasn't allowed to wear it.

As far as your note on culture...I was recently trying to explain my thoughts on the matter under one of your shorts when someone said that "not all cultures should be respected" and I wholeheartedly disagreed but ended up getting dog piled and gave up because no one was actually listening. I've really been enjoying this channel and getting to see the different eras and practices from China from a modern but respectful position. I don't think I expressed my thoughts on the matter as well as you did here but I wanted to say that I take away a lot from your channel and your perspectives.

Same as the Caucasians royals. Purple is always linked to royalty.
Because last time purple was not easy to get. It was from the special sea shell. 🐚🐚🐚🐚 And it is very difficult to extract.... So it is very precious 💞💕

The "紫" in "紫禁城“ doesn't directly refer to the color. It is the "紫" in "紫微斗数”, which itself is derived from "紫微星“.

I totally agree with you on culture It’s like how ancient Chinese Confucianism spread to Japan, and Japan did it even better than China
Similarly, the idea of EVs actually originated in the U.S., but now it's China that is leading the way in EVs

紫微星 (Purple Micro Star) aka 帝星 (Emperor Star) is the Chinese name for the star, Kochab aka Beta Ursae Minoris. Ancient Chinese Astrologers observed the stars and noticed that only one star was stationary while the rest revolves around it, much like how the Emperor’s courts and his people revolves around the Emperor, hence the purple micro star was seen as the Emperor star.
