    Update: This feature can only be found on the timeline by pressing the wrench button under the name 'Show Source Clip Name and Label'.
    I think Adobe changed it a couple of years ago.

    Perfect. By disabling "Display the project Item Name and label color for all instances" Im now able to color code small clips from a sequence within a sequence, and select different colors for each clip so I can tell whats what but still have them all coming from same easily editable sequence. Thanks bro

    is there a way to assign a color to a track so if i add more audio files to the track it automatically changes to the chosen color?

      In Avid there is a way, but in Premiere haven t found it so far

      I just ran into this issue myself. Click on the wrench in the timeline window and select the top option that says "Show Source Clip Name and Label" Adobe moved this option there.
