Ooooh airfix , I always loved building their kits. Especially the WW2 aircraft . Beautiful detail. Some of my earliest tamiya models were the old remote control by wire tiger tank kit that was huge. My best kit from tamiya was an old 70s 1/5 or 1/6 motorized F1 car that had functional steering rack , transmission , suspension. Etc. It wasn't remote but you could set the steering and let it drive around. It was gorgeous. I had all those high end tamiya kits from the 70s and early 80s .
Great video! I must admit, after The Frog to about the Hotshot era, i lost interest in Tamiya cars, so alot of those cars are completely new to me. I do remember seeing a video of the huuuge 4x4 hilux truck on RUclips once and was absolutely blown away by it. It was only stumbling onto your channel that my interest in Tamiya has been rekindled, and i cant thank you enough. Its great to see my old hobby again from back in the day. Awesome channel and completely addictive viewing. 😃👍👍
Cool vid, will be looking out for the vintage one, mine lived in my school satchel, was always looking though it in lessons...which probably explains why I'm as thick as shit today lol
That is great! Never seen that before. I used to see the catalog that showed models, RC's, and a bunch of other Tamiya stuff. I only ever got 1 and like a idiot kid, I cut it up for the pics and now it's gone!
Enjoyed every min of this video with eyes plastered up close to the screen to see the book as if it was in front of me , yes a great book to have especially for us lovers of Tamiya , may even look into getting a couple in futuer for the Tamiya Cave lol , Thanks again Glen For Sharing such a variety of content from books,to running to builds and bling always something great and interesting to keep us lovers of the TAMIYA brand content and excited for more and more to come in next vids , Cant wait for the Next One Now Bud, Take care and have a great week and hope to see your new arrival soon as it lobs up , cheers Glen :-)
Brilliant vid Glen.... Extremely interesting & unique content here, keep it up👍 One more thing, get the Merc along with a Super Astute, that would make for some amazing future vids😉👊
Great review Glenn, I could have furnished you with a Monte Carlo and TA05IFS x 2 (full hop up/one std) earlier in lockdown but they’ve been moved on. I’ll see if I can find the buyers and contact them to see if they’d sell on
What a great trip down memory lane, where did the last 9 years go! Thanks for sharing, love these videos. By the by, i got a NIB road version 190E, but thats going to the grave with me 🤣 Keep up the good work. Maybe a mid 90’s guide book video?
Really enjoyed that video, I’ve never seen these catalogues before. I just love the vintage guide books and can’t wait for a video looking through one of those. I have the 1990 and 1993 editions which featured the manta ray and top force evo respectively as the cover kits, I’ve spent literally hours drooling over the contents of these books and they are amongst my most precious possessions, they are just so special and iconic.
Yeh I did enjoy that. Theres was something special about having to get your RC fix from a magazine, seemed more exclusive to you some how, if that makes sense?
Wow, right in the middle of building a zahhak at the minute (yes its fully ball raced & has a ball diff) & I have 2x TB03 NIB to build the green NSX you liked & the silver Amemiya above it, both of which look stunning.
Good year for the re-release "2011" because we got the avante and I think we got the super hotshot aswell? And please correct me if I'm wrong but didn't the avante black special arrive? Excellent vid again keeps that interest going through the crappy times we are all having at the moment I don't tend to run my rc in the winter this just gives me the fix I need👍
Thanks for sharing this one Glenn, quite like the idea of the df03ra - you don't see many of those about, I'll need to see what parts are needed to convert a standard df03?!
Another great vid Glenn, But very surprised you did not know about these little mags mate! I have had many of these over the years and up to date years I bought the 2019 vol 1&2 from Modelsport for the small sum of £2 each! Great read great pics and yeah informative! Its surprising what us tamiya mad dudes don't know actually! Some stuff that just sneaks under the radar! Great stuff mate cheers James. PS looking forward to your bit on tamiya guide books! I have the one with the Egress on the cover and the one with the Grasshoppers! I guard these with my life! I wish they were mint but love um all the same! Mate your channel will be like a tamiya porn channel looking over these guide books your sure you should!! Iol....
I enjoyed thumbing through that catalog with you, but I'm really looking forward to the old guide books! I had a couple back in the '80s, but they are long gone, unfortunately. Perhaps I will look for a couple on eBay!
I had an m01 when they first came out with the m chassis love that little car that thing squealed around corners when you put a nice modified stock on there.
actually I don't know why that Alpine is on a front wheel drive and Jesse because they made it with a rear drive chassis maybe not with those tires but they made it with a rear drive chassis so I would not want that body with that chassis cuz it's not the right chassis for that particular car cuz that car is rear-wheel drive.
Hi Glenn, try the tamiya USA website because they have sales and some of the item's are dirt cheap!!!. Also the tamiya Japanese website has a parts matching list you might find useful?. Steve. UK.
I always said since they made the dt02 version of it they should have gone back and made it what they did originally back in the 80s and 70s I wish they re-released their cars like that too as well as the updated versions.
You know they still make RC catalogs for free to give to the public from Tamiya USA. I need to get the second volume that they do right now but it's screwed all that up they do two volumes a year for that.
By the way those semis with three speed transmissions if they come with I hear they can actually get up to 20 miles per hour stock in third gear something worth looking into if you got the money and don't forget about the tto 1 racing semis that they make 14 scale on that chassis I think you did do one on that didn't you the the fat fox or whatever that it was called.
The old guide books are gold so really looking forward to your coming vids.

Boy I absolutely loved those guide books as a kid. Oh boy the money I could have blown if I had it.
They are some of my fondest memories growing up.

Really enjoying my Sand Rover on 2S. Very impressed with the XB series and the it was boxed so well.

Never seen these publications, so very happy you have brought them to our attention. Love em. Especially the Evo V.
Cheers Glenn. 😊👍🏻
This brings back some memories for sure of some of these different R c before everything just about went to RTR
Hi glenn fwd are very fun to drive , tried tamiya m03 mini Cooper .

Love the Chanel. The grey on the top right sets off my OCD. Needs some white paper sticking up there 😁

Really enjoyed the video, great to see some of those cars. I had a TA-05IFS, great car to race even in stock out-of-the-box form.
Excellent thanks for sharing Barry 😊👊🏻

Excellent Nick, thanks for watching buddy 🤩👊🏻
nice catalog, better than internet brousing, "if I'm honest" I'm gonna steal some of your phrases

Thanks Tim 😊👊🏻
I had an m01 when they first came out with the m chassis love that little car that thing squealed around corners when you put a nice modified stock on there.
I had a ff01 loved that to.
The ifs version might be where you can move the motor forward middle or backwards.
actually I don't know why that Alpine is on a front wheel drive and Jesse because they made it with a rear drive chassis maybe not with those tires but they made it with a rear drive chassis so I would not want that body with that chassis cuz it's not the right chassis for that particular car cuz that car is rear-wheel drive.
Actually the dn01 is it's own chassis you should actually take a look at that. The zahakk is actually hard to find I think.
I have them from 2016 or 2017 onwards.
Going through a guide book would be great
Wow !! Nice cover
Nice video Glenn. 👍👍
Is the TT01 hop ups picture showing big bore shocks?
No the Tamiya 1/10 on road big bore shocks are different and have black springs 👊🏻
Still on the hunt for most of those cars.
Hi Glenn, try the tamiya USA website because they have sales and some of the item's are dirt cheap!!!. Also the tamiya Japanese website has a parts matching list you might find useful?. Steve. UK.
Thanks Steve I’ve just been sent that Japanese website it’s awesome 😎
What guide books are you going to do next?
Hopefully the Avante or Bigwig editions 😎👊🏻
I always said since they made the dt02 version of it they should have gone back and made it what they did originally back in the 80s and 70s I wish they re-released their cars like that too as well as the updated versions.
i would not mind seeing more mags
Interesting vid👌
You really should check out the dn 01 I think it's front suspensions different than the trf 201 the front suspensions different on it.
The ones below the CCO1 are cr01.
I had the Monte Carlo one.
They also make RC tanks that are 1/35 scale from Tamiya.
I would like a tt01.
I did not know that they had 1/25 scale tanks.
You know the high lift ones have permanent three gear transmission that doesn't change the two wheel drive when you shift .
You weren't paying attention I've told you this for a while now I get them every year for free from them and like I said there's two volumes a year.
Most people don't pay attention to you because you fill their comment section with your opinion nobody asked for.
You skipped CR-01 😀
Oh & you do realise that what the TT02 is to the TT02B the TT01 is to the DF02?
get a racing truck
Are you actually interested in what we would like to see? Im not being a smart arse . Gauranga
Yeah I am Matt, I’m trying to build this little TL RUclips community up, so yeah the feedback I get can only help me 👊🏻
@@TAMIYALegends awsome. Thanks for your hard work.
Recycled toilet paper?
🤣🤣🤣
