The Grasshopper and the Subaru Brat are 2 of my all-time favourite RC cars, they both look awesome. And it looks like you've done a good job of that painting, nice one!!
I wish I could plan ahead that far! LOL! I am terrible about planning as something always comes up to disrupt them so I quit trying! LOL! The bodies look great Glenn and I am sure they will all look terrific on display!
My dear Glen, dont give up at least till retirement, this is at least my plan. Tip Painting an hard body, primer first then sand 600 or 1000 the inperfection, then paint colors dark at the end, then paint the clear coat. The target is to have fun of it.
Oh the Blackfoot probably (to me!) the best looking RC ever made! Back in old Blighty always have trouble with painting shells even in summer it's damp often isn't it!

I’ve just restored a Mud Blaster and I would recommend painting the red from the inside as the instructions say as it’s meant to be viewed through the tinted glass as it is irl. Keep up the great content Glen, love it 😊
Glenn, I paint in my dining room. Put down an old sheet on the table and chairs, open a window then place a desk fan to blow the smell and paint dust outside. Yes it smells but I like the smell of paint. Also after each coat put a clean big box over the job to reduce dust contamination.
Glenn as a guy who’s painted anything from RC’s to show cars, a tip for ya. You can paint in the winter, as long as you heat the cans in hot water, and the bodies are room temperature
Hi Tamiya Legends! I recently found your channel and I love the Tamiya RC models! I remember as a kid I got a Chevy S10 kit, and loved assembling it. Now as an adult, with money no real object here, I'd love to get some guidance on how to revisit the childhood memories and build another RC car myself. This time I'd love to make it as good as it can be with additional upgrades, but I'm completely lost where to begin, and to which models I can easily source a lot of upgrade parts to? Which kit would you recommend?
Winters here aren't really cold, but they are wet. It's been raining so much the last 2 years turning all my driving spots into muddy swamps. Some places I can't even get to anymore cause the guys with the full scale 4x4's tore up the dirt roads leading to the best area's for my RC's.
Nice work there Glenn. It's summer down here where I am (Aus), and even when it's winter I can still paint if I'm not being lazy, just doesn't get that cold here in Perth. In fact it is getting warmer on average. I'm working through my body painting/decal sticking backlog. Ooh, Merry Christmas mate!
My last few builds I've done the body first .. that way once the chassis is done it's all done .. much better way round imo... Have a great Christmas Glenn. 🍻👌
Nice results 👍👍 I use an airbrush with Pro-Line paint (non-toxic) and I paint in my cellar (always 15-20° celsius), still with an extractor and mask for overkill precaution, but it's much much less needed than with the über smelly / toxic PS / TS Paint. Of course, there's a downside, the paint is less resistant than Tamiya, but I can simply paint every day. That does not mean I do it, because of lazyness 🤣There's another benefit, it's much easier to correct errors or to strip the paint 😁Take care and Merry Christmas 🤝

Matt black works really well for the Blackfoot body, makes it look less toy-like.

My hard shell on my Subaru brat was pre primered and I just 1000 then 1200 w/d, I do car bodywork found this much better.

Why dont you make a mini spray booth with a fan heater . Then you can spray any time
I found the Brat is a pig to paint with the details Ive just finished building and painting my Mud Blaster shell it took ages
