Jesus man! A simple video of a guy installing a soft top. I am doing mine today and this video let me know what to look for. I love the simplicity. Thanks guys.
Thx a lot man. 🙏
I will use this as a refresher every Spring when it is time to remove the hardtop. Excellent video that cuts through all the nonsense and is straightforward. Thank you.
Thx for your comment. Regards from Germany.
So just completed installation. Took about an hour but couldn’t have done it without the help of this video! Thanks again for posting.
You're welcome Dan. Have fun with the soft top. Regards. Feel free to check out my website www.redbeardoffroad.com
I'm picking up a used soft top and was hoping to find a good video tutorial. Thanks!
Thanks a lot. You're welcome. Regards from Germany.
Certainly feel more confidant as I get ready to install my soft top for the first time. Thanks guys.
Thanks for your comment. Regards from Germany.
The absolute BEST instruction video on RUclips. I use it every spring to put my soft top on
WoW. Best Comment ever. Thx a lot man. Regards from Germany.
I am about to go pick up my soft top in about an hour. This video was amazing I can wait to try and install it.
Thx a lot. Good to hear, that my Vid was helpful. Regards from Germany...
Thank you for the amazing video. I was totally lost with those clips that snap in for the rear window panel. The Jeep instructions never mentioned anything about them!
Thank you very much for your comment. Enjoy your Jeep. Regards from Germany.
Thank you so much. Your video help me to put the soft top back to my Jeep after a Christmas Parade. First time doing it and all by myself ✌🏼✌🏼✌🏼
Thx for your comment. 🙏 Regards from Germany.
Thanks for the video. Never installed a soft top and just purchased my first JEEP! Looking forward to installing.
Hey John, thx for your comment. Regards from Germany.
Thank you. Ive been wanting a soft top for my Jeep. This shows how easy it is to install. Very well done video.!
Thx a lot. You're welcome. Regards from Germany. I did a new Video about how to install a premium soft top: ruclips.net/video/HIiu3IelaCA/видео.html
Great vid! No wasted time. Leave to the Germans to be proper, quick and efficient. Thank you! Regards from Chicago! Subbed
Thx a lot for your comment. Regards from Germany.
Great video...we wanted to see what's involved and this does the trick!
Thx a lot.
This is the best one on the subject out there.!
Thanks a lot. Please check my new Vid: Unboxing a premium soft top and installation. ruclips.net/video/HIiu3IelaCA/видео.html
Great video! Helped me out a lot. One thing you may want to consider is showing the right way to slide the rear window onto the bar....I put mine on backward to start and it leaves a small gap above the door.
Yes. I forgot this. Sorry.
Great video! I just picked up a soft top last Friday for spring/summer and these steps definitely help.
Darin Criner Thx a lot man. Regards.
Thanks for the step by step I greatly appreciate the video.
You're welcome. Regards from Germany.
Great video. Just bought a used top. This will help greatly. 👍🏻
THX a lot. Regards from Germany...
Well done sir. thank you for taking your time to help others.
Thank you for watching my Videos. I will go on. Regards from Germany.
Great video. However, my soft top was brand new and stiff so I did find it easier to attach the front windshield latches without locking them, then return to the rear to fasten the rear soft top pillars and finally go back and lock the front windshield latches.
Recon Living good idea. Thx for your comment. Regards from Germany.
Oldy but a goody, thanks!
Yap. Thx a lot. You‘re welcome. Regards from Germany.
Best tutorial video ever!
HOHO. Sounds good. Thank you so much. Regards from Germany.
thank you. This was great. I am looking for more info about the difference of a soft top and hartop and how they are attached and I think it is great how you show multiple angles of the same task over and over. It really shows the process in detail. Very helpful.
Thank you so much @christopher hill. That is the idea behind my Videos. I love to show the important details. Regards from Germany.
Great video. had no idea it was that easy.
Yeah. It is. Regards.
Just used this to fit mine for the first time and really helped so thankyou. I too had a big gap first time closing so the tip about leaving it in the sun to soften up helped me not to stress so much.
Just one question, should the rubber end flaps on the tailgate bar be inside or outside when closing the tailgate?
I think the flaps should be inside.
What kind of top is this and what are the rear brackets that are attached to the rear roll cage called that the top attaches to? I bought one off of marketplace and I’m missing them. By the way great video i scoured RUclips for a video showing this top and this is the only time I’ve seen it.
Thx for watching. This is a original top from Besttop. I got it with the 2013 Sahara that we sold in 2017. I do not know how they call these brackets, but you should get a pair at your local Jeep dealer. Regards from Germany. Markus
Thank you for the video. I just bought a wrangler and they threw in the soft top. All the parts were there besides the screws you used at the 0:49 mark. What kind of screws are those? Thanks.
I don't know exactly. They came with the Soft Top. Ask your local Jeep Dealer. Regards from Germany...
Great video! Just got my 2010 Wrangler Unlimited and fought the windows bc I didn't know what I was doing. I need to replace soft top. Any suggestions on brands or whether to just buy top or complete with frame. I haven't had a Jeep since my first 1977 CJ5 Golden Eagle.
Rick Thain Whatever you‘ll buy. Get an original Mopar/Bestop Top. Check out quadratec.com.
Very cool! Thanks for the tutorial, that's what I want to do with mine! But mine should be simple, since is a two door 👍✌️👌😊🌵
you're welcome. Regards from Germany.
+JKWrangler N Willys Jeep thanks my friend 👍
First off, thanks a lot for the video! Very helpful! I tried installing the soft top today, and all went smooth except for this little bit. The top doesn’t reach the front latches enough to snap them shut. All else is in place. What to do?
Emil Soltan Install the front latches first, but do not close them finally. After that you can attach the two rear peaces of the softtop to the body of the Jeep. It is way easier to do that in the sun. Now you can close the front latches. Should work this way. Regards.
Emil Soltan Check my newer Videos How to install the Premium Softtop...
Great video, where can I get a copy of those written instructions, I bought mine slightly used and would be of great help
Thx a lot for your comment. I got the instructions with my Jeep. So ask your local Jeep dealer. Regards from Germany.
@@REDBEARDOFFROAD I went to Germany once and loved it, and learned to like beer much more. My brother-in-law told me before I went , I needed to learn this phrase. ein großes bier bitte danke sehr. Also, that is where I had my first cappuccino in a very large coffee mug which is now in addicting habit LOL

HI Redbeard,
Just to confirm , what year is your Jeep ?
The reason I"m asking because I'm missing the Soft Top Bow brackets and yours looks very different than what I'm seeing online for a 2016 Jeep
That is our sold 2013 Jeep Wrangler Sahara.
Can’t wait to have my soft top put on soon!
This helped me a lot! Thank you.
You‘re welcome.
Wondering what screws he is using in the beginning?
@@JodySilsby Which screws you mean?
Hi there! I purchased a softop and have a 2013 JK.. the problem is that it did no come with the support bracket that is installed on the rollbar to fix the softop.. do you know what is the name of this piece?
Nope. Sorry. No Idea. Good Luck.
How come no one mention that you may need to let it stretch out to latch it? It can that case it may take 2 people to do it?
Yes. Let it stretch in the sun…
Have 2012 , need new top like that . Where and how much can I get one . Thanks
Check your ebay or on craigslist maybe? Ask your local Jeep-Dealer. I think, they can order one.
You the man!
Thx a lot Dude.
I was thinking abt running a soft top for summer than as it gets colder resorting back to my hard top. do others do this ?
Yes, I do this every year.
Do you know where I can buy the screws you use to connect the soft top to the roll bar bracket. I bought a used car and did not come with them. If not at least the name and size of them any one.
Hey Rafael, I think you can buy them from quadratic.com or visit your local Jeep Dealer. The should have them in stock. Regards from Germany.

Nicely done video.
Thanks a lot man. Regards from Germany...
What product did you use in this
What do ya mean? Product?
Thanks
You're welcome. Regards from Germany. Markus
Thks!!
You‘re welcome.
Hi, I recently attempted to install this soft top, The video helps a great deal- thank you! I have three problems, the first is I was not able to close the gap between the two latches on the front windshield or get the back part of the soft top to attach to the underneath frame on the back of the Jeep, and thirdly, I haven't been able to attach the back window to the attachment piece. This has all been a struggle for me to do on my own. I don't have a garage so I had to let the Jeep stay open partly when it rained. It is supposed to rain the next 2 days so I would like to get it on securely.
Do you have any recommendations?
Hi Brenda. Thx for writing. You have to install a new softtop under warm weather conditions, so the material will expand and you will be able to close the gaps. Regards from Germany. Markus
thanks a lot sir......
+arifin Salti You're welcome. Regards from Germany.
Danke. Viele Grüße nach Österreich.
What size are the screws that attach the soft top to the back mounting plate?
T.J. Tanks Don‘t know. Sorry.
What type of screws do you use ?
Which ones do you mean?
nicely done.
+Srikanth K Thanks a lot. More Videos will coming soon... Regards from Germany.
When purchasing the soft top does it come with all screws etc ?
Yes.
Does this top not require you to tuck in the sides above the door rails?
I do not understand?
The part that clips into the front is an 1/8th of an inch off from clipping in, but no matter what I do I can’t bring it to clamp in
Try it under hot weather conditions. The material of the soft top will be more flexible…
We just did our soft top. It’s all in the handle and the clip. Move the clip back and fourth. Also adjust the handle while pushing the clip towards the latch. Goofy how it worked, but it worked.
exactly which soft top is this?
It came with the Sahara. It is a Bestop.
What year is your jeep?
It was our sold 2013 Sahara.
What is the make of the soft top, Mopar?
Yes. IT is original Mopar Softtop. Regards.
What are the parts that are looped called in 4:49 attached to the jeep? I need to replace mine and can't find the name.
Kaiii Sorry. Donˋt know exactly what you mean?
@@REDBEARDOFFROAD The hooks attached to the top of the windshield that the soft top connects to lock in to
Kaiii Don‘t know. You should ask your local Jeep Dealer. Sorry...
Where is the best place to buy the soft top?
David Santacruz Ask your local Jeep Dealer if you wanna get a new one. Regards from Germany.
Thanks you
You're welcome. Regards from Germany.
Is this soft top the non-cable soft top?
Peter Torres Its the original Mopar Softtop. What do you mean with „cable“? Where is that cable located?
Hi. Great one. How do you like the soft compared to the hard top? Easier to deal ? Any problems or concerns? I'm trying to decide on which. Thx.
therealtechcheck hi from Germany. I think, that the HardTop looks better, but you always need two persons for removal. If you have a cable control in your Garage, it will be easy. The Softop is easy to folt down. It is a good choice for Germany, where the weather is not always sunny. It is not really safe against thiefs. Regards from Germany.
+JKWrangler N Willys Jeep I think you're right. Thanks for the comment. They do look better and will last longer. I just think ill be missing out on taking soft top down whenever I like. It will be harder to take hard top off unless I install a winch in my garage
therealtechcheck Let me know how you'll decide. Regards from Germany.
this video was helpful but then again it wasn't because you mainly had to pay attention, and there wasn't any talking so it made it harder
Hate to be a dick but this video really didn't need talking. its pretty self explainatory with his editing. he had such nice close ups and great shots.
Thanks for you comment. My english is not the best at all, cause I'm not native speaker. So sorry about that. I think you would not understand comments in german? Regards from Germany...
@MaxMaxx Thank you so much.
How do you attach the bracket to the roll bar?
Open the velcro Fastener of the rollbar. You will find two boreholes for Installation the brackets with the T-Loop upside. Regards.
Bought a used soft top that I want to put on but am missing the bolts that tie the bracket to the roll bar. Any chance you might know a part number for them? The ones I just ordered through Mopar (Mopar 6036311AA) don't appear to be the ones that I catch a glimpse of in your video.
No man. Sorry. No parts Number available. Regards from Germany.
Thank you though.
Where can I order this exact soft top ?
From your local Mopar Shop.
So awesome. :)
Thx a lot.
You're welcome. Have a blessed day. :)
🎉👍🏻👍🏻
Thx a lot…
Where in the video do you show reattaching the rain guards above the front windows? Did you skip this step?
Rain guards? Don't understand what you mean...?
The manual calls them "drip rail retainers" located above the door frames. They're pulled over a hard rail to keep the rain out and very difficult to remove. You have to put your finger behind the top and push down on it while prying it out of the rail. I guess you don't have to pull them over the rail and just let the top sit on the rail instead of attaching it.
Think so too. Never uninstalled these drip rail retainers. Could you send a picture out of the manual? Where can I find them? Regards.
www.wranglerforum.com/f274/07-soft-top-question-229443.html
I have seen a couple of "how to" videos on RUclips concerning lowering the top on my Jeep. However, what I've noticed mostly when lowering the top no one has to roll/pull out the retainer strip along the top of the Jeep to fold the roof back, making it much easier. I saw where that only the 2007-09 models had that retainer strip along the top. So, this thing makes getting the top down a bitch. First, is there an easy way or a best method to getting that strip out of the sill? Second, can my top be replaced with a new Bestop similar to that of the 2010 and up models that does not have the retainer to slow things down?
You got the answers in that forum you have posted. ;-)
Where can I order this?
Order what?

2:54 what is this piece ??? Not sure I have this
JL BREMER Hey. You need this plastic peace to install the rear window.
REDBEARD OFFROAD I found them. They were in a bag. Hope it works when I try and put everything on tomorrow!
JL BREMER Why not? Have fun man...
You still own the same jeep?
Hi. No. The Sahara is sold. I own a 2017 JKU Rubicon Recon…
@@REDBEARDOFFROAD very nice. I have a ‘13 JK Sahara and wife has a ‘17 JKU. Can’t afford the JL’s too expensive. Plus the ‘18-‘20. JL’s have the corrosion issue on door hinges.
When first got my jeep, your vids helped a lot.
Thx a lot. Sounds good. Gotcha. The JL‘s are too expensive now. So I keep my Rubicon, it is a 3.6 l and the Willys. That‘s enough for the moment. Have a good one and thx for following along. Markus

I don‘t know. They came with the SoftTop. Sorry. You should get a pair at your local Jeep Dealer.
I have no idea what I’m doing..after watching this video, I still have no idea what I’m doing 🤦🏼♀️
Stacy Foland Haha. Why?
@@REDBEARDOFFROAD because you didn’t explain or show a damn thing!
How to install soft top…. Doesn’t actually show the one part I need to know. How to connect the bracket with screws back on. Gotta be kidding me. 🙄
What bracket?
@@REDBEARDOFFROAD how do you get the holes lined up for the 4 screws. There’s no video of actually putting the 2 screws back in on each side. I had to have my neighbor hold the damn soft top in an awkward position and I had to try and get the screws in. The “bracket” with the two screws wants to spring outward not allowing the frame and soft top to line up.
@@REDBEARDOFFROAD after pausing and looking at the video it looks like you took out the two 10mm bolts, not the two torx screws that hold the “bracket to the frame. I’ve watched other videos saying to remove the torx screws. Is this correct?
@@REDBEARDOFFROAD 9:30 mark of this video you left this little tidbit out. ruclips.net/video/Bzt21snVR4U/видео.html
Mine had the bracket that you didn’t know about attached to the soft top making it nearly impossible to reinstall.
Sorry. I never had any trouble to get the softtop mounted in these two brackets. I always use velcro straps to hold the softtop bows together. When I made the Video, the softtop was pre-installed by factory, so the part you are looking for is missing. Thats correct. My softtop firts perfect and the holes are matching to get the screws in.
Good jop
Thx a lot.
