I may be illiterate in the art or maybe autistic because I did NOT get where to find the "simultaneous pride and regret" from his acting in this scene 😭

The vacillating of conflicted emotions as depicted in his eyes is a masterclass in method acting. Cillian Murphy arguably reached the pinnacle of acting excellence in his portrayal of Oppenheimer. It was a well-deserved Oscar win.
If there is a problem with the movie it is the level of acting was relentlessly stunning. There was no relief. Cillian Murphy put out a performance so complete that we suffered alongside Oppenheimer. For 3 hours we were him. I never saw Cillian.
I love him since the movie Joyride/ On The Edge(2001) Same movie, different title, depends on where you live. He was so good in it. I knew then he'd become a big star.
His acting especially hits you when you you see him in real life, like in his interviews or promotional tours. The way he actually looks and behaves is so different from all the roles he has played so far, and that's not how it is for most people. And each character he plays is so different from the other; you can't tell its the same man. It's amazing.
yup, just seeing him in the different roles, it's like there's no Cilian, it's completely different person each time. I don't know how he does it, he's got such strikingly handsome face and eyes, so memorable and still, it's like those are different people, whole charisma is different. crazy
He is my favorite actor . I've loved him for 20 years... I knew he would make it to the top and get all the respect he deserves as a brilliant actor. 💕
Yes, i thought this too. Brilliant moment. His face and demeanour was "God what have we done?" But he composes himself to say the words that they needed to hear after months of work.
I love how this exemplifies the range of emotions that humans can possess and embody- and that they are recognizing that in others. Someone who has that much depth is not easily found, in my experience, and I’m grateful people like him exist and are appreciated ❤
I felt every moment of that scene too. The whole elation of finally completing a project so important, wrapped up in a "Oh, my God, what have I done"" realization was so eloquently portrayed here. It reminded me of when Ender (Ender's Game) was enraptured with elation at finally beating the "game", only to realize he'd wiped out an entire species and it wasn't a game.
I remember thinking that exact thing in that scene. He looks so proud but also has this very noticeable look of “Holy cow….what have we just done?!” His acting throughout the entire movie was awesome but this scene especially was just genius
This is a man who has full contol of his face. Actors who can do that always appear superior, they don't even need to say anything because they can make their face tell a thousand words.
I have not seen this movie yet, but I see the brilliance of his acting in this scene in expressing the import of that moment in time. Astounding portrayal in that moment! ❤
I was affected by this film from the very first viewing as I was watching it. Film making of the highest order. Masterful story telling on celluloid as there ever was. Everyone involved, Bravo!
I love Cillian, so I was looking forward to this movie. But I didn't see him. I saw Oppenheimer. Cillian played Oppenheimer so well, so truly....he BECOME him. So amazing performance. I'll be very upset if he doesn't get Oscar.
He is one of the finest actors of his generation. This role left me in awe. If you compare his previous roles to this, especially Peaky Blinders, it shows his range and his exceptional ability. The fact he lost so much weight just to have the same silhouette and lanky look that Oppenheimer had is crazy. He looks so gaunt.
He’s been one of the best actors for years, but often people focus on his good looks other than his ability… I’m glad he finally got the recognition he deserves :)
This scene is just cruel How would people applaud the bombing of innocent civilians!!! But thinking of it again, it's just like what's happening right now in Gaza💔
That was a display of pride for your country. The pictures and films of the destruction were not shown to Americans until years later. Nowadays, we see war in real time. After seeing the horror and disturbing aftermath of the bombs, they began nuclear disarmament.
He reminds me of Daniel day Lewis- especially in 28 days later- every scene carrying the gravity of the one before… Remember when actors and directors did that? Now we have Jason Stratham and John wick and mission impossible- where every scene could be the first or last- it’s all the same
I absolutely love Emily Blunt as an actress, and I love how she has such an astounding respect for such an amazing counterpart. Cillian is an amazing actor in anything he does and she truly recognizes that. That is so beautiful to see in the acting community.
Hey Haylo and Kiss, just wanted to tell how much I look forward to your videos. I am going through a stressful phase and your videos really help me. Even if it's for 15-20 minutes, it helps me to freshen up my mind while I can just watch two people react to a show I love without thinking about anything else. Thank you!

You're right on target!👍

He was amazing. Robert Downey Jr on the other hand completely overacted his part. Not sure what the academy were thinking.
I’ve been a fan of Murphy’s for so many years and I’m so happy he’s finally gotten the recognition for his immense talent. ❤
Same here!!
It was "Scarecrow" in Batman Begins and his role in "Red Eye" for me (both 2005).

He is what every actor hopes to be. I think what makes him so good is the man he is. He understands and feels what the man felt deeply.

Trying what Japan did in ww2
They didn’t start disarmament until the 80’s, afternany years of protesting and far too much testing.
Hiroshima was a legitimate military target. It was home to several military units and war factories.
"Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.”
George Santayana
I think she steals the show at times. Deserved a best supporting actress methinks
I think the same.
Cillian is a brilliant actor!!!
Over the years we suffer the loss of some truly great actors and then we have privilege of witnessing actors that mature into greatness!
