@@joyjr91_ bullshit. M could change from man to woman back to man without issiue, moneypenny was also white and black. And Q turned from old to being young again. Craigs era alredy did many changes to the bond characteristics, aswell were dalton and Brosnan (which is my favorite) very diffrent from the original Sean connery and from Roger moore who has done the most bond movies yet. It would be disrespectful to the audience, the TRUE Bond fans to just let that role die over nonesense. Great interview. Craig is a bit hyper, as usual, but he really draws Cillian out of his quiet shell. Murphy smiles here more than in any other interview I've seen.
Its literally the most comfortable ive seen him ever. You always see him zoning out in other interviews or that meme bored/disappointed face. Here he is engaged and seem genuinely having a good time
I like how he took a second to bow and acknowledge the crowd when he first came in... which I can only assume was giving him a standing ovation at the time. Class!
Craig really is one of the best interviewers ever. Talk show host legend. Really gets the guess comfortable, engaged and having fun. I think ive never seen Cillian so calm and engaged in an interview. He always seems bored or zoning out. Craig makes everyone feel like they are talking with a pal they’ve known for years.
I think the reason Cillian is so comfortable is cause they really bonded and know what they're both talking about. Cillian clearly likes his home life and enjoyed talking about Ireland and the UK. It was like a chat between two close childhood friends catching up about their home city.
Craig Ferguson really had that effect on his guests, I can't think of many guests that didn't get on well with him on his show. I mean, even Meghan Markle was on there at one point.
Yulian of Rivia there’s a difference between being underrated and simply not being as famous as other actors. The best actors are never A list celebrities because to be an A list celebrity you generally have to do shit big budget action films with a rubbish story. I mean, brad Pitt is more famous than Daniel day Lewis but we all know who the best actor is.
What an interviewer Craig is to keep the interaction spontaneous knowing that Cilian's a bit reserved and doesn't enjoy talkshows much! Yet, Cilian enjoyed it and got so relaxed and comfortable towards the end. Both are geniuses.
I just recently watched Peaky Blinders. I had no idea what I was getting into and binge watched the whole thing. The cast was amazing and the story was riveting.
I just finished the series last night. I'm embarrassed to admit I watched it in 1.5 weeks. I was and am still obsessed! I am currently trying to dig out of a Cillian Murphy rabbit hole!
Finally got round to watching this after watching a few other of Cillian's interviews and press junkets. He is a lot more confident here and is clearly happy to be there. I know he's a very private and shy guy, but I think he warmed to Craig because Craig was genuinely interested in his work. As long as people ask interesting questions and stop faffing about, I'm sure Cillian will engage with them on a sincere level.
Yeah agree, you can tell though it's a comfort thing, be genuine in your questions, be genuine in caring and wanting them there....don't be robotic with your questions, show interest!...it does help too as someone mentioned below Irish/Scottish, its a less intimidating encounter for both. Some people are just terrible interviewers, no natural charisma and very wooden feel.
Cillian Murphy is such a delightful and gentle human being. And yet Thomas Shelby is the GOAT of Alpha men with a heart and completely fucking awe-inspiring and intimidating. It shows Cillian is one of the greatest actors on the planet, and yet still a humble and soft-spoken dude. Only respect and admiration for this guy.
This man is a brilliant actor, and this is why; I saw him in 'Red Eye', thought he was an American, saw him in 'Peaky Blinders', thought he was from Birmingham, never realised it was the same person, then I checked his profile on IMDB and he has been in lots of major movies without realising it was the same person, the mark of a truly great actor. P.S. this was the first time I have heard him speak in his real voice.
He does soooo many different things. He goes back to theatre now and then too, I be5 that’s a real treat! He’s also was the part time DJ on BBC 6 radio during Covid where he played the music he loved and interviewed other musical artists.
I’m in love with this interview! So nice that they’re actually having a conversation, and that is lasts for nearly 15 minutes too. They seemed to have a lot in common as well, so that was really nice to see.
You can see Cillian's respect start to grow when he could connect and see Craig's natural wit and intelligence. I am sure he has internally yawned through many robot host interviews before this.
The thing I never thought that one day I'll be interested in Cillian Murphy, for a strange reason every movie I have watched from him and had Murphy playing in them he was the bad, weird, psycho guy and even though I really love blue eyes I find his intimidating and scary, but then I watched peaky blinders and I honestly fell in love with his character Tommy you gotta give it to this guy, he's a talented actor not appreciated enough though
Are you freaking kidding me? Cillian acted in lots of big screen. In fact lots of the movies are praised by critics. He is picky about his acting roles. You prolly think he ain't cast that much just because you didn't see him in the biggest blockbusters nowadays. *sighs
That's the funnest interview I've seen with him. I think because Craig's mind works so incredibly fast, he can keep cillian's intelligence engaged and interested. He is such a brilliant actor and charismatic person. Hope to see him in many more great roles, with the show ending. He'd be a great Bond, not that he'd want it. But maybe he'd enjoy a Bond villain
I'm 34 years old and I've been straight for almost exactly 34 years. For a few days now I've been watching the "Peaky Blinders" on Netflix, now this interview on RUclips and I have to say, I'm in love with Cillian Murphy.
@@bakeryssoul F.y.i Craig Ferguson doesn't do interviews. He always said that he's genuinely interested in people and just wants to have normal conversations with them. He also doesn't have a script or a card with questions. Every guest on show knows that and is prepared. Also, don't forget this is a show after midnight. Craig Ferguson is a comedian so he tries to keep things light. Cillian Murphy is a very private person and I'm sure he a good reason to come to this particular show.
I started watching Peaky Blinders because of this wonderful interview. It's a really fun and interesting interview. And of course I was not disappointed by the series or the breathtaking Cillian Murphy. ❤ Cheers!
About Peaky Blinders: "- It is such an odd show. It's like Wire made by Kurosawa in Britain in the turn of the century. It's nuts!" A sign when a tv host fonds of a guest's tv show :)
The show is brilliant. It's quality (acting, directing, cinematography, plot etc) reminds me of masterpieces such as The Sopranos, The Wire & Breaking Bad.
He is such a gentle, peaceful person....a little bit shy...the way he talk shows he is kind of amivert but when the camera rolling he breaks all the limits of acting
A friend was fucking annoying me...but then I thought..."well...I'll take a look at it.." Well fuck...I am addicted and watched the first and second season on one damn Day...12 damn hours...my parents now think that I am crazy..
Aaaaww 💕 I love how comfortable he feels with Craig Ferguson. Cillian rarely laughs during interviews. Notice how he's not crossing his arms as he normally does. I love Craig and Cillian 💓💞👍🏻
Peaky Blinders is probably the best show I've ever seen. The central cast are all first class and in my mind Cillian Murphy, Adrian Brody and Paul Anderson were put on this Earth for these specific roles.
To me he was one of those charismatic actors I would see now n then in random movies since forever, and after the "Inception" I def.memorized his name, only after Peaky Blinders I completely "fell in love". He deserves recognition and a legendary status.
Only time I've ever seen Craig actually care and talk about the show/movie his guest stars in. Usually he just gives them a second to plug their thing then off they go talking about something completely different
The show is brilliant. It's quality (acting, directing, cinematography, plot etc) reminds me of masterpieces such as The Sopranos, The Wire & Breaking Bad.
BB DD I was eating some snack when Arthur and Alfie get reunited and I legit spit on my laptop when Tom Hardy says SHALOM ARTHUR! SHALOM! xD.... Brilliant actors!
Arthur is amazing. A tortured soul and a great Peaky soldier. He’s so faithful to Tommy, always following orders precisely but also a right hand man. I loved it when he warbled “fu$& Linda”
Arthur really grew on me throughout the show. Tommy and Alfie blew my mind away from their starts, and Luca changretta was incredible, but no character grew on me like arthur
why does he hate his Peaky Blinders haircut? it suits him better. In fact all the three Shelby brothers look better in the haircuts they rock i the show.
I really love their haircuts too, but understand, that it makes them too recognizable when not filming. Cillian doesn't really enjoy the attention. He wants & enjoys his privacy.
Thankyou for making Cillian feel sorta at home and comfortable in this interview by asking good relevant questions and NOT stereotyping his Irish heritage. In most he looks so traumatized, it breaks my heart .

Bond was written in the 1950s as a British spy with a daredevil & misogynistic personality. No black man was allowed in that profession back then.
@@joyjr91_ bullshit. M could change from man to woman back to man without issiue, moneypenny was also white and black. And Q turned from old to being young again. Character transformation isnt a bad thing if the actor does a well enough job. Ian Fleming doesnt live anymore.
The only true barrier i see is James bond being pictured by a female actor and thats solely because of the name, they would have to change the name and i wouldnt watch Jasmine Bond or something, cause that wouldnt make sense. I hope the people in Charge for the Bond Franchise are not as close minded as you are, because i for one would like to see some more Bond movies and see which ever actor it will be after Craig. Change is going to happen to everything, fighting change only leads to loss and destruction, great shows have ended because they were not able to go with the change.
It's just struck me how he is basically a male version of Angelina Jolie.
now I cannot unsee.
Except he can act.
Oh shit
Yeah I would say he can out act Jolie. Thousand times over. He’s a great actor.
I was just talking about physical resemblance. Nothing more.
Cillian laughing and having a good time really shows what an amazing host Craig is.
Here he is engaged and seem genuinely having a good time
Is Craig or Cillian the devil?
Cillian is a Gemini so he likes a good conversation but if it's not mentally stimulating or interesting to him then he gets bored lol 😂
@@Firespawnable do you actually believe that
@@cookie4049 I believe in astrology so yes and in this video Cillian is acting exactly like a Gemini 😂
I like how he took a second to bow and acknowledge the crowd when he first came in... which I can only assume was giving him a standing ovation at the time. Class!
That struck me as well. Just genuine appreciation of the audience.
It's the Scottish charm he employs
I miss Craig , wish CBS should have brought him back after Corden.
I think the reason Cillian is so comfortable is cause they really bonded and know what they're both talking about. Cillian clearly likes his home life and enjoyed talking about Ireland and the UK. It was like a chat between two close childhood friends catching up about their home city.
They both clicked really well....it was like two old friends catching up
Irish and Scots what else can I say?
That's the Ferguson affect
Jocks & Micks, family.🏴🇨🇮
Craig Ferguson really had that effect on his guests, I can't think of many guests that didn't get on well with him on his show.
I mean, even Meghan Markle was on there at one point.
@@marybarry2230 Yeah as a half scot / half paddy i could see it a few seconds into the interview. 2 halfs of the same bad apple :))
Best Cillian Interview. No awkward moments. Craig is just pure conversationalist.
So underrated actor
Yulian of Rivia there’s a difference between being underrated and simply not being as famous as other actors. The best actors are never A list celebrities because to be an A list celebrity you generally have to do shit big budget action films with a rubbish story. I mean, brad Pitt is more famous than Daniel day Lewis but we all know who the best actor is.
MsMaryPatricia agree
Dave Walker agree, mate
Couldnt have said it better
This guy can charm males and females alike.
So rare to get such a natural conversation out of a talk show like this. Great conversation
Thats why Craig still has a devoted cult following. He really was the best.
@@laurenlavineway3562 I’m gonna be so upset when it’s over, I’m like halfway through the whole show after a few days
Just watched the whole 6 seasons in less than 4 days on Netflix lol!
Agreed. He's such a genuine person. Colbert's interview with Cillian was awful.
I think the closeness between Ireland and Scotland helped.
U need to search a video with him n jamie dornan together.. multiple interviews editeď into one.. they are hilarious! True bromance😅
It’s a Celtic brotherhood. When the Irish, Scots, Welsh & Bretons come together...that’s some craic
Q
yes, same:) He is amazing actor!
He always plays the thinking/brooding type but then, that's his personality.
@@InnerPeaceAtlanta Breakfast on Pluto!
Please come back Craig!!!!! The absolute best talk show host…EVER!!!!! Real conversations that bring people back down to earth. Fabulous!
Never seen Cilly so relaxed in an interview. One of the best ones I have seen.
This man did a brilliant job no one can replace him in peaky Blinders I watched it 2 times for his acting my fav show and the ending was mind blowing
I watched it twice too, feels like I can watch it again. His acting is just brilliant!
It not ended yet as it a thought they was still working on season 6
Finishing season five with my dad soon, I don’t want it to end best thing on tv
Nah brother ending was awful for Tom !
It's not over
This interview made me watch Peaky Blinders for the first time and then I didn't stop until it was over. Great show
this might be the only interview I've seen of Cillian were he's actually comfortable
cillian in all black: i don’t want my children to be goths
He was literally scarecrow. XD hahahaha one who thrives off people's fears.
Goths in Ireland are on a different level though. Lol
All black apart from the red shirt
I mean, I like wearing darker clothes, and my hair is almost identical to Cillian's, but I'm definitely not goth.
I do, just like their mom.
You can see Cillian's respect start to grow when he could connect and see Craig's natural wit and intelligence. I am sure he has internally yawned through many robot host interviews before this.
I almost feel like I’m listening to them sitting in a pub together...
Exactly the same happened to me.
He's got those eyes where it can look both sinister and gentle. Like Anthony Hopkins. Both brilliant actors btw.
Exactly, me
I haven't seen him in a lot of stuff, but ever since peaky blinders I think he's great.
I loved him and his eyes since Red Eye.
I miss Craig SO much. Great interviewer and so quick witted. Put Cillian totally at ease.
I've never seen Craig really WANT to talk so much. Cilian really makes him want to engage looks like.
Him, and Stephen Fry.
At first I thought you were talking about Daniel Craig Lmao
Or he's high
Cillian saying his kids can do whatever as long as they aren't goths is a MOOD. LMMAAOO.
Best interview of Cillian Murphy yet! Most ones I see he's always shy and quiet. He was more expressive here. Good job Craig
Don't waste this man's talent give him a big and good role, we need to see him in a movie!!
He already has a big and good role
A quiet place 2, he got the main role
He was scarecrow in bales batman
Are you freaking kidding me? Cillian acted in lots of big screen. In fact lots of the movies are praised by critics. He is picky about his acting roles. You prolly think he ain't cast that much just because you didn't see him in the biggest blockbusters nowadays. *sighs
28 days later, in the heart of the sea, Dunkirk, Inception he's literally played many critically well acclaimed roles in a lot of movies my children
Love that Cillian gave him the thumbs up after the interview, most other late night interviewers are quiet stale in comparison.
Maybe 005, a cold, brilliant assassin spy?
He plays a great Oppenheimer
I'm 34 years old and I've been straight for almost exactly 34 years. For a few days now I've been watching the "Peaky Blinders" on Netflix, now this interview on RUclips and I have to say, I'm in love with Cillian Murphy.
“For twelve years you didn’t eat meat then you ate BAMBI?!!!!” 🤣🤣🤣
Perfect reading this whole he walks in
Can't blame him, venison is amazing.
This is like the only interview where he had a lot to say, really relaxed and smiley. Got to give it to the host. Really engaging.
Would be great if Cillian could finish a sentence.
True af dude ! He's not letting him speak
Yeah, hate that, most show hosts and interviewers are so cringe these days
The host is constantly making the conversation about himself. Sheesh, it's an interview, focus on the guest.
So annoying when the host dominates the interview and acts like they are the star.
All this time i thought his name's pronounced "Sillian"
... well, Irish ...
Don't blame you. At least with football players like Mbappé you have the "k" in Kylian
I did too, until I heard him pronounce it correctly
Same here! I pronounced it Sillian for long...until Jamie Dornan corrected me.
Me too
Just to let you know, YOU ARE NOT ALONE
I started watching Peaky Blinders because of this wonderful interview. It's a really fun and interesting interview. And of course I was not disappointed by the series or the breathtaking Cillian Murphy. ❤ Cheers!
Oh cillian! Gorgeous, talented, humble and personable who could ask for more.
About Peaky Blinders:
"- It is such an odd show. It's like Wire made by Kurosawa in Britain in the turn of the century. It's nuts!"
A sign when a tv host fonds of a guest's tv show :)
The show is brilliant. It's quality (acting, directing, cinematography, plot etc) reminds me of masterpieces such as The Sopranos, The Wire & Breaking Bad.
Do you like love/hate? That's a lost gem
The ability Craig Ferguson has to put people at easy is amazing, I've never seen Cillian Murphy in an interview being this comfortable and chatty...
He deserves an Oscar for his phenomenal performance
Oppenheimer .... i actually was thinking wow this guy's a worthy successor to Daniel Day Lewis
He has one now :)
One of the best interviews I've seen with Cillian. Craig is a fantastic human being!
He is such a gentle, peaceful person....a little bit shy...the way he talk shows he is kind of amivert but when the camera rolling he breaks all the limits of acting
So fun watching Cillian Murphy trying not to break during his scenes with Tom Hardy.
i hope i dont get obsessed with peaky blinders

Peaky Blinders is probably the best show I've ever seen. The central cast are all first class and in my mind Cillian Murphy, Adrian Brody and Paul Anderson were put on this Earth for these specific roles.
To me he was one of those charismatic actors I would see now n then in random movies since forever, and after the "Inception" I def.memorized his name, only after Peaky Blinders I completely "fell in love". He deserves recognition and a legendary status.
Probably one of my favorite interviews ever. Two guys just having fun together.
Yes absolutely brilliant 👏
Never seen Craig give so much respect to an actor. Says it all.
I have just finished season 4 and it was superb. The actor that plays Arthur is brilliant
Yeah it's amazing seeing Arthur's character develop over the seasons, and the actor playing each role so well
BB DD I was eating some snack when Arthur and Alfie get reunited and I legit spit on my laptop when Tom Hardy says SHALOM ARTHUR! SHALOM! xD.... Brilliant actors!
yep. It requires knowledge to do so
Considering how private Cillian is the fact he did this is a big deal. Also I'm glad he felt relaxed enough to have some fun with Craig.
I also like Arthur’s psychotic character and uncertainty of his behaviour. He acted great in the show !
Lov Arthur especially wen he goes angry
Arthur is amazing. A tortured soul and a great Peaky soldier. He’s so faithful to Tommy, always following orders precisely but also a right hand man. I loved it when he warbled “fu$& Linda”
Arthur really grew on me throughout the show. Tommy and Alfie blew my mind away from their starts, and Luca changretta was incredible, but no character grew on me like arthur
Arthur was awesome
Paul Anderson is an amazing actor
I was vegetarian for like, 12 years...
What happened, bacon sandwich?
God I love Craig.
It was the British bacon that got me 🙂
He is vegan
That moment just literally cracked me up! :D
many cannot resist a bacon sarnie.
Typical vegetarian joke not really original I'm sure he uses it all the time
In the bleak mid-winter...
Murphy is a phenomenal artist.☘️
why does he hate his Peaky Blinders haircut? it suits him better. In fact all the three Shelby brothers look better in the haircuts they rock i the show.
He had said he hated it because he was recognized alot more with it, he likes to be able to go out without being noticed.
I really love their haircuts too, but understand, that it makes them too recognizable when not filming. Cillian doesn't really enjoy the attention. He wants & enjoys his privacy.
I think the same goes for benedict cumberbatch. He looks great as doctor strange
@@annemilne100 He actually was almost bald in 28 days later.
Thankyou for making Cillian feel sorta at home and comfortable in this interview by asking good relevant questions and NOT stereotyping his Irish heritage. In most he looks so traumatized, it breaks my heart .
This is probably the most relaxed I've seen him with an interviewer, the Celts I think 😊
