I came across this video the other day so decided to order a copy of one of the books mentioned “This book is gay” to judge from my self what the fuss was about….I’m a British, mid 40’s, mum of 2 boys (now grown and left school) and hardly a prude BUT oh my word…I read most of it and I can tell you 100% that is NOT a suitable book for school and I would be protesting too and standing in solidarity with these parents.
Why would such a book be in the school library? Who is responsible for reading/vetting the books in the first place? If it’s the school librarian, shouldn’t she or he be held accountable for contributing to the delinquency of minors or of exposing them to child pornography? Where are the standards?

I came across this video the other day so decided to order a copy of one of the books mentioned “This book is gay” to judge from my self what the fuss was about….I’m a British, mid 40’s, mum of 2 boys (now grown and left school) and hardly a prude BUT oh my word…I read most of it and I can tell you 100% that is NOT a suitable book for school and I would be protesting too and standing in solidarity with these parents.

I believe political and cultural values should not be taught or pushed onto students in school. School should teach you How to think and not What to think. My granddaughter is 10. She is to young to be engaging in, studying about or reading about ways to have sex. She is a chikd. Whether it about gay sex or straight sex, she is too young. And even if a small child could know they are gay, does that automatically mean gay children just get sexuakized earlier in life because they are gay?
